The ranch will accommodate 32 guests comfortably. Smaller groups are welcome. 15% off the advertised rate for active military. Call for rates for smaller groups. We welcome outdoor weddings. Bring your family to stay overnight in the homes and up to 150 of your friends to enjoy the dramatic wedding gazebo perched on top of the world and a reception looking out over the Rocky Mountains.

If you really want to treat yourself, let our personal chef cook for you throughout your stay and you and your guests just relax and enjoy.

Eagles Nest Ranch is a working cattle ranch and situated on more than thirteen hundred acres of rolling hills, meadows and rock cliffs with breathtaking views of the Roosevelt National Forest, Grey Rock Mountain and the Mummy Range. The name sake, Eagles Nest Mountain, sits on the west side of the property just a few hundred yards from the main house and promises to provide you with hours of entertainment watching the Eagles soar. The ranch abuts the Larimer County Eagles Nest Open Space including more than 755 acres of pristine pasture, miles of horse and walking trails and two miles of the North Fork of the Poudre River. The final piece of the ranch is the famous Grey Rock Meadow consisting of 160 private acres located on the Poudre Trail at the base of the Grey Rock Mountain in the middle of the National Forest offering access to more than 800,000 acres.

The main house towers three stories with glass from top to bottom with amazing views from every room of Grey Rock and the Mummy Range. The House will accommodate twelve comfortably in three bedrooms, a large den and four baths and three stone fire places. The lower level walks out to the hot tub and a huge patio. Or; you can stay inside and enjoy a game of billiards in front of the fire place while overlooking the mountains. Relaxing on either of the decks is a perfect day no matter what the weather. The upper deck extends the entire length of the house (nearly 80 feet) and sits you on top of the world. The lower stone outdoor living space is twice as big and includes a large hot tub and gas fire pit.

The guest cottage includes three bedrooms and one bath and will accommodate six comfortably and has room for eight. Two of the bedrooms have queen size beds and one has bunk beds for two people, but another can be added for two more. The living room and kitchen are situated with views of the National Forest, Grey Rock Mountain and the Mummy Range and include a few of the trophies harvested from the property. The home is built from heavy timber and has a large stone wood burning fireplace in the living room. The deck extends the entire width of the cottage and overlooks the riding arena, a valley, the cliff leading to the river and Grey Rock in the distance.

The cabin is located on the lower ranch nestled into a rolling valley and includes three bedrooms and two baths and a dramatic wrap around porch with spectacular views to relax after a day of riding.

There are multiple pastures, a stable and outdoor riding arena if you would like to bring horses. The main ranch and Open Space have miles of riding trails. Unfortunately, our horses are all working horses and not for rent. ATV's are welcome on the main ranch on the trails and roads. If you are a real hiker, you may want to hike the Poudre Trail all the way to the top of Grey Rock Mountain and camp the night in your private Meadow at the base of the mountain. Or; hike down to the North Fork of the Poudre for fishing and dinner.

The property is located in GMU 191 and is loaded with Mule Deer and Elk are accessable in the Forest and the private Meadow. We have private landowner vouchers for rifle, so getting a tag is not a problem. We can also help with guide service. Muzzle loader and bow hunting are allowed on the open space for the fall deer and elk seasons.

The ranch manager is available for emergencies and information about the ranch and the area.

Come stay with us for the experience of a lifetime.

About Jeff

My wife and I live in Florida and have a small engineering company. We purchased this property because we love the area and the proximity to Ft Collins and CSU and the Mountains.

Jeff purchased this lodge in 2005

Why Jeff chose Front Range

The property is far enough to get away but only 20 minutes to Fort Collins and close to Red Feather Lakes, Estes Park and multiple ski areas within two hours and a great tubing area about 30 minutes away. And; it is a great hunting area.

What makes this lodge unique

Privacy and Relaxation. Great weather and never a bad time

Guestbook comments from the owner

Dear Jeff and Janeen,

Thanks for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home in July. We enjoyed the comfortable accomodations and the grand views. The layout was great for our stay. We spent a lot of our time on the outside deck enjoying the vista and watching a storm come in. Our grandnephew really loved the horses. They were so friendly. Lisa, your property manager was very accomodating.

We did not see they gate codes in the welcome book due to the layout so you might want to make that a little clearer to guests as we had to call Lisa late when we came in after the wedding.

Thanks for the grand vacation.!

Mark and Yvonne

Best vaction ever, I wish I could give 10 Stars!!

  • 5 of 5

First and foremost, I will return to this property solely because of the owners (Jeff/Janeen) and their ranch hand, Bryan. Janeen went above and beyond what any guest would expect from a property owner. She cut down a Christmas tree, set it up in the main house, and decorated it so our group’s young kids would have a tree over the Christmas holiday. Janeen also had amazing cookies in all three houses when we arrived and brought us pies and green chili throughout the stay! Bryan is just a rock star and an all-around great guy. He volunteered his time for anything we needed and walked us through all of the activities the ranch and surrounding area. Bryan even took one of our rental car’s flat tire into town to get fixed for us. The Eagle’s Nest Ranch is one of the most peaceful and gorgeous locations I have vacationed with my family. This place is a hidden gem for big families that struggle to find a location that accommodate 20+ people. Our party had 28 with rooms left over! Another reason I will be back was the amount of these to do, for all ages. From shooting, hiking, skiing at Snowy Range Ski Resort or going to Beaver Run Ranch to inter-tube, there was too much stuff for us to fit in to the 7 days we were there. A few of the Ranch’s amenities you will find: wifi, direct TV with all channels, a professional skeet range, a tactical pistol range, an outdoor hot tub with an amazing view, a grill, a gas griddle, all of the fire wood you can burn! This place will absolutely not disappoint.

Fantastic Views and Great Service

  • 5 of 5

Our family stayed for a family reunion, and it couldn't have been better! The landscape around the property is perfect, and for those that like to hike/ATV there was plenty of trails and room for all levels. It was great being close enough to Fort Collins to spend the day there and be able to get our small kids back for nap time. The owners and caretakers were great. Thanks for letting us stay!

Thanksgiving Family Reunion

  • 4 of 5

We had a fabulous time at the ranch. It was a beautiful place, our only downside was the weather, so we couldn't enjoy all the amenities and had a hard time getting our non-four wheel drive vehicles out of the place. The ranch was accommodating for all 22 of us. Staying in different buildings was a little weird, but we made it work. Being close to Ft. Collins was a big plus for our family. We would like to try it again, but in the summertime. The owners and ranch hands were very nice.

The property was beautiful but we won't return.

  • 3 of 5

The owner and ranch hands were so nice and helpful. Absolutely no complaint with them. The property was amazing and our family enjoyed riding around the land. However no one in our large group liked the houses. They were dirty and dead bugs were along most of the walls even in the bedrooms. It was very hard to make breakfast outside because all the bugs would come land in the food while cooking. Although we got a discounted price for our group everyone still felt like the overpaid for what they got.

Owner's Response: The Millers (moths) come out once a year at varying times and they can be very annoying. I apologize for any inconvenience, but unfortunately cannot control nature.
