About The Owner

My Mother and Father-in-law are your wonderful hosts at The Lakehouse. I am honored that they call me 'son'. I am Jim, and I have been a part of this family for 38 years. My wife and I and I own a business in Northern Michigan. Our office Westies love visiting 'G & G', their Grandma & Grandpa on Lake Michigan, running free, chasing squirrels & chipmunks with their Westie.

We assist in opening and closing this rental home and we have had the fortunate opportunity to stay in this home numerous times. The Westies love to roam the land and beach.

You will find this rental and your Lakehouse experience a relaxing, tranquil experience. You will hear only nature...No city hustle and bustle. Only the sounds of nature, and waves lapping on the beach.

Civilization is a short drive away, convenient when you desire to roam the countryside, or go for supplies.

I assist my in-laws in the rental and management of this property. You can reach me by telephone at 231-946-2980.

Why The Owner chose Michigan

The private setting affords guests the freedom to vacation in a secluded area, free from areas crowded with tourists.

Fishing exists right out your door on the pier, just steps away. Little River Casino is 8 miles down the road. The Heathlands Golf Course, featuring breathtaking views of Portage Lake is 4 miles from your door. Arcadia Bluffs Golf Course, one of the world's finest golf challenges, is 30 minutes away. Scenic drives to Frankfort and the Traverse Bay area make for a nice day trip.

The Lakehouse is a great place to spend 100% of your vacation time, or it can be your vacation headquarters to discover all that is great in Northern Michigan.

The Lakehouse beach has special meaning for my wife and me. We were married on the beach.

What makes this house unique

Ever go to the beach, and find your experience as crowded and noisy as a subway bus terminal?

You will only find your family on the beach on Lake Michigan. It is your private beach during your stay. You may choose to have an evening bonfire to relax and soak in the stars at night.

Aug, 2016.

As the other review's state: plenty of room, cleaned weekly and privacy galore (including the beach area, had 1 person walk by in the week we were there). I grew up in the area and knew that was a secluded section of land and beach as we could never go there. Also, everything truly is there that you could need. Just bring your own food and beverage and kick back (especially around the fire pit at night). I would like to again thank Kevin and his folks for sharing this hidden gem with us,

Wonderful property!

  • 5 of 5

We had five adults in our group for a week and for 2 days our 2 grandchildren stayed with us as well. This house has tons of space, is very well equipped and very comfortable. There was plenty of space in the yard between the lake and the house for a game of baseball for the big and little boys. The lower level walk-out boasts a poker table and a bumper pool table. You won't find a better view and there is endless Lake Michigan beach to walk on. The owners are just two doors down and make themselves available for anything you need. This is a great vacation spot!

Excellent family retreat!

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from a two week vacation at the lake house. The house is fully stocked with everything you need for cooking, relaxing, and entertaining the kids! Everything was clean and comfortable. The house and property is perfect for large family gatherings and so peaceful when all of the guests leave. ;-)

If you like peaceful settings with beautiful sunsets & campfires, private beachfront, wooded surrounding with lots of wildlife, this is the place for you.
