About Teresa Di Fenza and Donagh O'Brien
We are an Irish couple Donagh & Teresa. We have managed to have got work/lifestyle balance about right whereby we spend approx 6 months of the year enjoying the Puglian lifestyle.
Teresa Di Fenza and Donagh O'Brien purchased this Villa in 2005
Why Teresa Di Fenza and Donagh O'Brien chose Alberobello
Having discovered Alberobello in 2003 we found it very unique and we knew this was the region where we wanted an Italian holiday home. The trullo have many original features including an aia which is a circular area which was used for grinding grain, this has not been incorporated into outside living area where one can relax and enjoy outside dining.
What makes this Villa unique
The outside space was the selling point of the property with many original sitting areas and fabulous olive, fruit and nut trees.

Wonderful family holiday in a magical Trullo
We have just returned from a fantastic weeks stay at Trullo Paradiso with our young family. The kids found the whole Trullo experience magical and of course loved the pool and the huge outside space to explore. The Trullo was everything we expected it to be and has been sympathetically converted while providing everything we needed to make for a comfortable week. The photographs almost don't do it justice, it is trulli charming! Apart from the fun of the Trullo itself, the kids spent hours in the pool and we particularly enjoyed the shaded poolside terrace area where we enjoyed lunches and barbecues watching the sun set over the pool though the inside of the Trullo proved very cosy one stormy afternoon!
The whole accomodation including the outside space and the pool is perfectly maintained by Donagh and Tereza who made sure everything was fine each day, a real advantage with having the owners adjacent. Tereza and Donagh themselves were charming hosts, always friendly, accommodating and generous with the delights of their wonderful Italian garden and even making us stuffed zucchini flowers one evening. We thoroughly enjoyed their company, and they were wonderful with the children though they were equally careful to give us our privacy, in fact a lot of the time you would not know they were there at all. They were incredibly helpful in suggesting places to eat and visit, directions, where to shop, park etc. no need for your Rough Guide here!
Trullo paradiso is close enough to Alberobello to pop in and out, but not so close to the busy-ness of the place at it's peak mid August as you might find with a town centre Trullo. Alberobello has lots to offer but Trullo Paradiso is also a good place from which to visit many other lovely towns such as Locorotondo, Ostuni the coast and everything else Puglia has to offer.
I can't recommend Trullo Paradiso enough and would love to return sometime soon.
Thanks again Tereza and Donagh.
Thank you for a lovely review, it was a pleasure having you here as guests and we enjoyed your company and chats.
We hope to see you again in not so distant future.
We loved our stay at Trullo Paradiso, Donaugh and Teresa were wonderful hosts and couldn't have done more to ensure our stay was perfect.
The Trullo is around 1km outside Alberabello and we did walk in on one occasion for dinner and then walked back in the dark, (probably would have been better to take up Teresa's offer of a lift) but we are four adults and did have a torch! I wouldn't recommend doing this with small children, I would say a car is a must while staying here to enable you to do your shopping and to make eating out easier.
The Trullo itself is exactly as you would imagine, so cute and with everything you would need. Teresa had also left an additional towel for the pool/beach in addition to the shower towels which was a bonus. It was a bit like glamping, everything you actually need and very comfortable but if you are a bit of a princess you may well miss air conditioning and a dishwasher! The outside area and pool by far made up for washing a few pots and there are fans to help keep you cool at night.
I should probably mention that the doors and the corridor between the kitchen and bathroom are around 5'3 or less so if you are tall you need to be prepared to bang your head a few times!
The pool is fabulous and I agree with other reviews that it is crystal clear, like drinking water. Donaugh looks after it very well and it genuinely upsets him if its not perfect!
The entrance into the Trullo car parking/garden/pool area is shared with Donaugh and Teresa so you do see them on occasion but they keep themselves to themselves unless you invite conversation which I would recommend you do as they are very knowledgeable on the surrounding area and restaurants. If they need to do anything to the pool or gardens they shout hello to let you know they are around.
We did get a few mosquitos bites between 5 and 7 (as Teresa and Donaugh advised) so it may be a good idea to come prepared with spray. (All the windows and the door in the Trullo have mosquito nets over them so there is no problem with them getting in the house.
All in all we had a great time, thoroughly relaxed and re-charged our batteries.
Thank you for your lovely comments and we are glad that you have enjoyed your holiday and stay.
In relation to the air conditioning we did investigate the possibility of installing air con units, however as the trullo is within the Alberobello commune and being a Unesco Heritage site, there are restrictions imposed on us that will not allow us to alter the exterior of the property especially the cones. Therefore there was no possibility of placing the extraction fans on the outside of the trullo.
However we do provide fans and due to the structure of the building, the trullo is designed to be cool during the summer months.
Fortunately or unfortunately you did experience the hottest week of the summer this year so I can understand the need for cooling fans.
In the event of you returning to Alberobello I do hope you will book with us again.

Wonderful place to stay
LOVED staying in this comfy and well equipped trullo, LOVED the pool area which has been really well designed with plenty of shade, LOVED the owners Teresa and Donagh who really made us feel at home. Nothing was too much trouble, great tips on places to visit, and some basic supplies on arrival which were greatly appreciated. LOVED Puglia. Fantastic. We didn’t want to come home!
We also loved having you here and enjoyed the chats. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay and are welcome back any time.
Hope to see you again in not so distant future.
Perfect Puglian holiday
Trullo Paradiso was everything we hoped for and more.
Great base for exploring the area.
Accommodation perfect for our family of 4, well serviced- everything you need- pictures don't do the interior justice!!!
Outstanding outside areas: wonderful pool (best we've ever had) many seating areas and bbq.
Our hosts Teresa and Donagh were so welcoming, friendly and informative. They couldn't have been more perfect.
If you are planning a holiday in Puglia you will not find a better place to stay
Thank you for your lovely review. It was a pleasure having you here and we are delighted that the property meet all your expectations.
We hope to see you again if you decide to return.
Many thanks for choosing our property for your holiday stay.
We were this year's first guests, and thoroughly enjoyed our time at Alberobello and this wonderful home. Trulli was quite spacious, very comfortable and the grounds are beautiful and we particularly loved the pool/patio/bar-b-que. Great to be "rural" but so close to Alberobello and access to other great regional sites. Our hosts were engaging and very helpful.
Thank you for your lovely review and we are delighted that you enjoyed the facilities and accommodation. Perfect guests to start off our season.
Fantastic property - highly recommended
Simply can't recommend Trullo Paradiso enough. The property was exactly what we were looking for and more. It is clean, comfy, charming and huge character to it. The location is great as near enough to Alberobello and shops and restaurants but far enough out for complete quiet and tranquility. The pool is well looked after and perfect for both adults and children and the outside area well equipped with loungers, dining space and BBQ. Teresa and Donagh are perfect hosts as they can't do enough to settle you in and make sure you have all you need but at the same time you hardly know they are there.
Thanks to you both - a lovely relaxing holiday.
We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay. It is very important to us that our guests have a wonderful and unforgettable experience.
Hope to see you again in the foreseeable future.
