Nice price, home, neighborhood, walk to downtown.
Explored Angel island. Hiked mt tam. Enjoyed downtown San Rafael. All from a nice home in a quiet neighborhood.
We enjoyed our stay!
We had a great experience at the home. We had everything we needed! Loved the location only 30 minutes from San Francisco.
Very nice, spacious, clean, pet friendly flat.
Clean, nicely decorated flat. Well stocked and located in town. Owner very welcoming to us and our pets.
Great location. Clean, well supplied with coffee, condiments. Very comfortable beds.
Only problem was finding the house at night. The house number was not lit up or very distinct.
Other than that, I would rent again.
The property was dirty. It literally looked like someone had just stayed there and there was garbag.
Both front and backyard needed serious cleaning and weeding but that was the least of the problems. As soon as we opened the door to the house, we noticed the huge mess there. There wasn’t a place in the house that didn’t need cleaning. Beds undone, garbage everywhere, bathrooms dirty, towels and bedding on the floors, etc. I immediately called Fred and left here a message. I called several times and she finally returned my call. I explained what was going on and she let me know she was sending her cleaning lady, Blanca, to take care of it. I let her know that I wanted to know why the house was such a mess and why we had to be inconvenience in this manner? She made all sorts of excuses, but what bothered me the most is that instead of owning up to the fact that she forgot we were coming, she even tried to blame me for it. She said the reason for the house being dirty was because we booked last minute. I let her know that we had booked at least two months in advance, they collected my money right away and I even had confirmation messages from her. She then followed by saying that her place was one of the better priced places in the area, even if that it’s so, there’s no excuse for having this place dirty. She finally asked me to stop lecturing her and she gave me a refund for one night, then followed by asking me if I still needed the place cleaned since she refunded me one night. SERIOUSLY???? Three cleaning ladies showed up to clean as I ended my conversation with Fred and the lady told me that she was very busy that day and that Fred told her we wouldn’t be arriving at the property until late that day so she could clean later. The place looked very nice after it was cleaned and we loved our stay after, even though my son’s birthday, which was on Friday, was ruined because we couldn’t do what we had planned because of the delay. If Fred would have just been honest with me and not try to lie and blame others, I would have reacted differently. She never admitted that it was her fault what happened and that just upsets me. Because if her, we will not be returning to her property. I don’t think she’s the type of renter for HomeAway. If renter from this App before and I’ve been so happy in the past. Not this Time around.
