In an idyllic location on the impressive and beautiful peninsula of The Eastern Shore and overlooking the Sea of Abaco and Sugar Loaf Cay. The closest thing to being on an island without the need for a boat!
'On the Rocks' is just two miles from the town of Marsh Harbour and the ferry to Guana Cay and within walking distance to the HopeTown and Man of War ferries. The town has a good selection of shops, supermarkets and medical facilities all staffed by friendly and helpful people. Car and Boat Rentals are available locally and there is a good taxi service to and from the International Airport just 20 minutes away. Golf is available at Treasure Cay and Winding Bay and divers are serviced by two well established Dive Shops in the town.
The cottage is a well equipped, cool and comfortable home. One can walk, run and swim in complete safety along Eastern Shore whilst those not so energetically inclined can read and lie in the sun and relax on the large deck. An ideal haven for painters or writers who feel like a change of workplace. Those interested in bird watching (the feathered variety that is) can attempt to see the Abaco Parrots on forays into the surrounding countryside. The view of sunrise and sunset from the deck is spectacular and the constant activity of the passing boats by day or sitting under the stars at night means there is always something to capture one's imagination.
Boat Rental available from (website hidden) and others.

About Christopher
We lived in Abaco from 2005 to 2007 and built the cottage at that time. We love the beauty of Abaco with all its opportunities for boating and relaxing and the feeling of time standing still.
Christopher purchased this Cottage in 2007
Why Christopher chose Marsh Harbour
We built the cottage because we fell in love with the location and wanted a home with the comfort of modern living.
What makes this Cottage unique
The cottage is beautifully located looking out over the Sea of Abaco and Sugar Loaf Cay. It has a private dock located across the road on Sugar Loaf Creek. It is ideal for swimming and snorkeling and very safe. All the amenities are close by. The town with shops, restaurants and medical facilities is just 2 miles away and only 7 miles from the International Airport. When the sea is rough there is no need to get on a ferry to do anything as everything is on the mainland. When the sun shines the ferries to neighbouring Cays are only a mile down the road.

Wonderful cottage on the water!
Fantastic House and Owner
Dear Alex, so pleased it worked out for you and you enjoyed it so much.
Great that the bikes and taxis worked for you so well.
I hope you come again and stay a bit longer. There is a lot more to see.
Regards Christopher
Beautiful, clean, lovely views out every window!
Dear Petra, glad you enjoyed your stay.
Bicycles are available close by in town. Unfortunately we have nowhere to store bikes and it would be difficult to cater for different sizes.
Regards Christopher
Wonderful!
Dear ML, I am glad it worked out for you. Thank you for the compliments. I look forward to your return sometime in the future.
Regards Christopher
An adorable romantic cottage on the ocean
Dear Marzena, thank you for your review and comments.
I agree it would be nice to provide bikes but unfortunately with the size and location of the cottage we do not have anywhere to keep them. We also often have families staying so difficult to provide a range of sizes. There is a very good bike rental in town which is reasonably priced.
We shall consider providing kayaks.
I will check on the hot water in the shower.
I hope that you do come back in the future.
Regards Christopher
Fantastic Family Holiday
Dear Joe, I am glad that you all had such fun on your holiday. You did very well with your fishing. Thank you for your comments and maybe you will return one day.
Regards Christopher
Location
Directions from Marsh Harbour International Airport to “On the Rocks” Eastern Shores, Marsh Harbour, Abaco The new Terminal is now open. If hiring a car from Seastar Rentals their office is nearby to the right. It is a bit further away than it was from the old terminal, about 50 yards. Turn right coming out of the terminal and exit the car park. Seastar is located the far side of the roundabout. You will see cars parked on grass and a wooden building up on stilts. You go upstairs to the office. You will enter onto a dual carriageway and reach a roundabout in approximately a quarter of a mile. Roundabout has large Abaco Parrot in the middle, as in the photograph on 'Things to Know' above. Take the second exit left heading towards town on Great Abaco Highway, passing Abaco Neem and Pine Woods Nursery on your right. Travel straight on for about 2 miles. The road changes to Dan Mackey Boulevard at cross roads with a Texaco Gas Station on the left. Proceed straight on until you reach the one and only traffic light in Marsh Harbour, less than a mile. Turn right onto Queen Elizabeth Highway. The road proceeds about half a mile and at Mermaid Plaza bears round to the left to a T Junction, looking out over the harbour. Turn right onto Bay Street. Proceed along Bay Street in about a mile you will pass Albury’s Ferry Terminal on your right after which you will enter The Eastern Shore, an unmade up road. “On the Rocks” is approximately three quarters of a mile down the road. It is the last house before a gate across the road on the left hand side, grey single story with green shutters. It is only the fifth home on your left hand side. It is preferable if you reverse into the parking space on the town side of the cottage, left hand side when looking at it. You might wish to stop off at Maxwells, an excellent supermarket on your way to the cottage. After you have turned right at the traffic light you will see a large blue sign on your right. Turn right up that road for a ¼ mile and you will come to it on your left. After you shop head back down the road and turn right and head on to On the Rocks. Beaches & Ferries Abaco Eastern Shore, Marsh Harbour There is a small beach up the road from the cottage, you will pass it as you drive down and go over a concrete road on the right. Mermaid Reef, Pelican Shores, Marsh Harbour There is a nice area in Marsh Harbour called Mermaid Reef which is located on Pelican Shores. You turn right off the main road into town just before the Abaco Beach Resort, which is on the left, at Lignum Vitae and it goes up a hill. Follow the road round and you will come to it on your right. It is very good for snorkeling. There is a good fish shop on this road at the boat yard at the bottom of the hill. Treasure Cay Go North out of Marsh Harbour to Treasure Cay; it is one of the top 10 beaches in the world. It is about a 40 minute drive. There is a big beach bar there. Little Harbour – Pete’s Pub One that we really enjoy is Little Harbour about 30 minutes South of Marsh Harbour from the airport round-a-bout, with the large parrot in the middle. After about 10 minutes from the round-a-bout you take a left off the main road sign posted Pete’s Pub and then another left 5 minutes further on, again signposted and follow a rocky road for 2 miles. It is a beautiful horseshoe bay with Pete’s Pub right on the beach. The Atlantic Ocean is on the other side of the hill. Ferries You catch the ferry to Hope Town, which is very quaint with painted cottages, nice harbour and again Atlantic Ocean over the hill and a number of bars and restaurants, from half a mile up the road from the cottage. There is also the ferry to Man of War Cay which is not so interesting. The ferry to Guana Cay goes from the Conch Inn in town. This Cay has nice beaches and a fun bar called Nippers.
