Why Betty Bunch chose Lake Marion

PURCHASED THIS FISHCAMP 4 YEARS AGO. WE GUTTED THIS OUT AND REBUILT WITH OUR HANDS. WE ARE VERY PROUD OF THIS HOUSE.

Guestbook comments from the owner

SET ON A PEACEFUL COVE ON LAKE MARION ALLOWED FOR EARLY MORNING MEDITATION ON THE BIG FRONT PORCH, ROCKING THE THE ROCKING CHAIRS AND DRINKING A CUP OF COFFEE. Great family getaway

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed the porch, the quiet cove and water sports on the lake. The cottage was roomy and well supplied. The boat ramp and dock made boating convenient.

This house was amazing. Clean well kept it had everything you needed. Sharp knives big open living area and all the kitchen appliances needed to prepare a nice meal for family. It was stocked with games indoor and outdoor. Just the perfect place for a family.

Great Weekend Get Away

  • 5 of 5

The pictures do not do this home justice! It is a beautiful house with plenty of room. My fiance and I booked the Red House the first weekend of June 2017 so that we could enjoy a weekend with family and friends that we do not get to see often. The dock had plenty of room and we were able to dock 3 boats. The wrap around porch had plenty of seating for everyone to enjoy being outside. Also, a good thing to know is that the third bedroom has a twin size bed, a double bed and a futon. We loved to ride on the boats and go to the sandbars. The 64 marker sandbar is only about 5 minutes from the house and the I-95 sandbar is about 30 minutes away.

We had a great time and plan to stay again next year!

peaceful time

  • 5 of 5

Tis was my second time at the Red House and both times the visit couldn't have been better. We were just looking for a quiet time to get away and it provided just what we needed. The house is very comfortable and peaceful on the cove. Looking forward to our next visit.

We loved the red house especially the porch, dock and the beautiful view of the cove. The house was so well equipped and the owners were so accommodating! We loved making s'mores on the bonfire...thanks to Billy for building it for us, playing mah jongg on the beautiful porch and enjoying our wine and cheese on the dock in the late afternoon. We will definitely be back!

We'll be back!

  • 5 of 5

One of the best parts of our whole trip to 4 states in the South was sitting on the porch at The Red House. The setting is just beautiful - despite proximity to neighbours it feels (and is) very private and the trees were alive with birds (yellow-rumped warblers, tufted titmouse, pileated woodpecker, cardinals, brown thrasher, and robins were some of our sightings -and of course the "resident" great blue heron). Proximity is great for visits to Beidler Forest, Santee NWR, Santee State Park and Charleston. The house itself was well furnished and the owners were very quick to respond to any question or concern, very friendly and considerate. Thank you for our week there!
