Shalom Stone is a simple, small cottage. During the day it is all living space, at night all sleeping space: 2 sofa hide-a-beds downstairs and one upstairs. Enjoy the upstairs wood-burning fireplace or the outside fireplace and/or fire pit on cool evenings.
Located within spitting distance of the Cana Island Lighthouse on Lake Michigan, the view from our cottage is so spectacular that photos have been taken from our waterfront for the Door County calendar and the Coleman Outing Products catalogue! Enjoy the pristine waters of Lake Michigan. Dive nearby shipwrecks. Watch 1000-foot freighters steam their way to/from Deaths Door or turn toward the Straits of Mackinac. Enjoy the 475+ acres of State-owned natural boreal forest across the road where deer and other wildlife cavort in their natural habitat. On clear nights you may see stars previously hidden from your eyes.
All the wonderful features of Door County surround you: shopping, golfing, fishing, sailing, beach bumming, cross-country skiing. Desire culture? Peninsula Players, American Folklore Theater, Door Shakespeare, and Door County Auditorium as well as numerous art galleries are mere minutes away. Door County has more State Parks and shoreline than any other county in the United States: truly a unique place to visit and enjoy - and our Shalom Stone is in the middle of it all!

If you love the peace and quiet of nature, you will love staying at Shalom Stone. No TV or phone service to interrupt the relationship building time with spouse, family, friends and God. The home is adorable with great views. Comfy, stocked and convenient. Enjoy the quiet side of Door County! Jim, the owner, is very accommodating!
Shalom stone is an absolutely beautiful place to stay. We could usually hear the waves, which really adds a sense of being connected to nature. We love that we can't use our phones! Thank you again for sharing your cottage with others.
Relaxing, small, manageable, dog friendly, sketchy cell service and no TV help you to unplug and reconnect by connecting with nature, playing games, etc.
My wife and I enjoyed your wonderful place on the wild and beautiful shore of Lake Michigan. It was a fun little place with awesome views and a wild feel that made it seem a million miles away from home. We enjoyed the great hiking at Tofte Point, The Ridges Sanctuary and Peninsula State Park. The roar of the waves and the sunrises we saw from our bed each morning will never be forgotten.
We enjoyed a restorative week on Cana Island. It was so quiet, and our dogs loved having a yard for a week! We have also been using our phones and email LESS since we have returned. It's a good habit to let go of the screens.
Lovely, peaceful place! All the basics with phenomenal location, views, wildlife. We love to canoe from the cottage to the lighthouse. Wonderful place to disconnect from the daily stresses of email, phones, t.v. and reconnect with nature!
