Come have fun and relax at Lazy Dayz in the heart of Duck Village in the beautiful and quaint beach town of Duck, NC and only 150 yards from beach access! This spacious, seven-bedroom, five-and-a-half bathroom, 3,700 square foot luxury vacation home has tons of amenities inside and out.
Lazy Dayz offers an open floor plan including a large ground-floor recreation room with foosball, a pool table, full-sized refrigerator and a den with plenty of seating around a large flat screen TV with Blue Ray and NetFlix. The spacious top floor great room has a large kitchen with island, living area with large flat-screen TV and DVD and lots of dining space, including a separate tower breakfast nook. The middle level has a quite den separating the rooms with a large flat-screen TV with a Blue-Ray and active Netfix account.
Outside is more that 2,000 square feet of deck that wraps around every level, a large private pool, hot tub, large yard with volleyball court, a basketball goal and other outdoor games. A Webber grill is on the ground floor. Trees that surround the house give Lazy Dayz lots of privacy and outdoor areas to explore. The house is near the beach-end of a single, quiet, private street - lined with a sidewalk and street lamps, that runs from town to the beach. The lack of cross streets and the cul-de-sac loop makes it a safe place for kids to scooter and ride bikes.
Also enjoy all of the conveniences of Duck Landing, including access to a private clubhouse with heated indoor pool and kiddie pool, bath and changing facilities, fitness room with free-weights and game room with pool and ping pong tables. Outside of the clubhouse is a tennis court, playground and private oceanfront beach parking close enough to Lazy Dayz to be convenient overflow parking. And because Duck Landing is in the center of Duck, you are within walking distance to the sound side boardwalk and all of the great shopping, restaurants and water sports in the Town of Duck.

My wife and I are in our mid 40s and we have a 12-year-old boy and 8-year-old-girl. I am a business-to-business publisher in Arlington, VA and mostly love to just spend time with the family.
Seaside Vacations purchased this house in 2012
We love the Outer Banks and, after 15 years of renting, decided to buy a house in one of the best beach towns in america; Duck, North Carolina.
Our top priority was to be very close to the beach, with no streets to cross to get to it.
Second was being close enough to a pedestrian friendly retail area that we could walk to shops, the local market, restaurants and water sports.
We found exactly what we were looking for and more. Duck is the only town on the banks that offers a real pedestrian-friendly retail village, plus long boardwalks and trails along the sound. It's a bonus that it also has walking and biking trails that go many miles in each direction.
We also wanted the house to be relaxing and fun, so Lazy Dayz's expansive decks, pool, volleyball court, basketball, plus rec room fit the bill.
It's just a bonus that the Duck Landing neighborhood is:
1) a single, quite 15 mph street from town to the beach with a sidewalk. It makes it safe enough for kids to go to and from town or the beach on their own and to ride bikes and scooter on the street.
2) It's the most central street in Duck, so it's got as much to offer by walking south in the retail village as it does by walking north.
3) Duck Landing has the best clubhouse in OBX, with an indoor pool, weight room, tennis and more.
I love the open space in the great room and the rec room, because it is large enough to have a pool table, foosball and living area so a group can enjoy the space comfortably. It was hard to find as most rec rooms have only a pool table and enough room for some stools.
I also like the tower breakfast nook. I start my day there every day when I am at the beach because it's where I read the newspaper and have my coffee.
The kids also love the rec room, plus the outdoor private pool, volleyball court and basketball court. They also love to have their own TV/DVD in their rooms.
My kids love how close we are to the beach and clubhouse and walking to Duck Donuts in the morning and bringing home donuts for everyone. I love the hardware store, market and kayak/bike rentals at the end of the street and also walking to get pizza and ice cream with the kids. My wife and I love that the best restaurants in OBX -- Blue Point Grill, Red Sky Cafe, Cravings and Roadside Bar and Grill -- are just a walk up the street.
Because we want our guests to be very well taken care of, we have this property managed by Seaside Vacations, a management firm that is incredibly responsive and accommodating to renters. That means, however, we (the owners) don't arrange the bookings via VRBO so cannot solicit reviews from past renters.
7 of us rented this house and the location was perfect. Very close to beach, restaurants, etc. However, the house looked like one of the oldest on the street. Not sure if the management checks up on the cleaning crew because it didn't appear that way. I have about 7 photos and will post on Yelp. Ceiling fans are filthy, drapes hanging on the floor need washing and one has water stains. Windows are absolutely filthy! Mold/mildew on 2 shower curtains and the master bath has black mold along the bottom of the glass shower. Several shades are broken so the light comes thru in the morning. Bottom floor is like a dirty basement, even the pool table is dirty. Carpet is disgusting and needs replacing or better yet, use hardwood or tile!! We smelled what appeared to be body odor for 3 days and it drove us NUTS! We followed our nose and realize that there was a baby gate on the second floor. Not sure what was hung on it, but one corner was so bad it permeated the entire second floor. We finally put it outside on the porch and the smell disappeared! Shame on me for not checking Yelp before we rented. This place needs to be updated and cleaned. Live and learn!!
This house, which is new to VRBO, has the best floor plan of any house I have stayed at in the 15 years I have been visiting OBX. The top floor is open with only an island separating the kitchen from the family room, making it a great, and very comfortable, gathering space. There is also a tower breakfast nook on that level drenched in natural light where I enjoyed reading the paper in the morning. The top floor is also surrounded by decks, so the party can easily flow outside.
It has two other common areas: a mid-level den where our young kids watched a movie while the adults visited upstairs, and a ground-floor rec room where the older kids - and some dads - played pool and foosball while watching baseball and playing some basketball just outside. Because the volleyball court is surrounded by trees that drop some leaves that can be a bit pointy, you can't play barefooted.
The house is very close to the beach, just a few steps. And it's right in the middle of Duck Village. Duck Landing Lane meets Duck Rd. right at Town Park and the sound side boardwalk where there is an equal number of shops, restaurants, sports rentals, etc. walking south as there is walking north. You cannot get more central in Duck Village.
The clubhouse is included with the stay. Most valuable is the fitness room. Not much need for the indoor pool in the summer because the house has a nice pool with equal parts in the shade and sun most of the day.
The entire house is well maintained with new furniture, stainless steel appliances, flat screens in the rooms and other unexpected amenities.
We will most certainly be back to this house next year.
While Duck Village has the best retail and restaurants on the Outer Banks, The Town of Duck, NC is centrally located enough to everything in the North Outer Banks (South Nags to Carova Beach) to get to sites on either end within a half hour. Drive north to see wild horses in Carova and the lighthouse in Carolla and south to get to the Wright Brother's Memorial, Jockey's Ridge, Jenette's Pier or shopping in Manteo.
As for recreation, there are several places in Duck to rent kayaks, wave runners, boats or to parasail and there are several golf courses within 15 minutes.
