About Shana Parker
I am a psychologist and my husband is a retired home builder. We are down to earth and appreciate the outdoors and authentic relationships. We are originally East coasters but have been in Colorado for 20+ years.
Shana Parker purchased this House in 1994
Why Shana Parker chose Wonderland Hills
If you want to land after a busy vacation or business day, we have a perfect home: relax with a book, or on line, or put your feet up on the deck or take a bath. I originally purchased in this neighborhood because of the natural beauty, the friendly safe feeling, the great combination of proximity to town and the great outdoors. See the video of Wonderland Lake by Richard Shane in the video section.
What makes this House unique
When I walked in and looked up at the spaciousness of the cathedral ceiling I felt the incredible sensation of expansiveness and cozy all the same time. This house has many such polarities: the proximity to both open space and corner markets, both the best of Boulder hiking and a short ride to town. Located in a quiet neighborhood with safety and privacy. You'll feel at home.

Stellar location, hosts, and home!
Shana and Doug could not have made us feel more welcome in their beautiful home. The property is in a lovely neighborhood, within walking distance to Wonderland Lake, Lucky's Market, and a little cafe. The grounds are filled with lovely gardens, and the house itself has everything you need to feel right at home. There is nothing missing! We especially loved our time on the deck, with the view of mountains. I cannot say enough nice things about Shana and Doug~ very respectful, friendly, professional, and kind. 5 stars for every thing! We left Boulder feeling very rested and peaceful. Thank you Shana and Doug!
We loved having you as guests!
Homey touches like fresh cut flowers from the garden in several locations within house. The flower boxes on the spacious outdoor living area were overflowing with gorgeous and abundant flowers. The bird feeders provided daily entertainment with birds visiting frequently and a chubby visiting squirrel was quite entertaining! The owners went out of their way to make our stay a pleasant one. The home is very comfortable with lots of natural light. It is located on a very quiet street in a really nice neighborhood. The home has comfy beds, linens and plush towels….everything you need in the kitchen. The owners offered plenty of maps and magazines on things to do in Boulder, as well as personal recommendations on trail rides, The property manager was just as helpful with great tips on where to go to get the most out of our stay. The home is located in one of the best areas of town in our opinion with access to Pearl Street Shopping by bicycle using the convenient multi use trail. It is only about a block walk to the lovely Wonderland lake which has a trail around the perimeter with more trails leading from it. Lucky's market which is a half block walk is fantastic! It's like a small Trader Joe's or Whole Foods. There are also a few restaurants on that corner. We had a wonderful visit!
My husband and I spent a month at Shana and Doug's home. It is such a cozy home with great energy & a fantastic location! We have lived in Boulder before and just love the Wonderland Lake area. There was a fenced in yard for our dog and this was a great addition for us. Also, you are just steps away from walking/running/biking/hiking trails, so if you want to get outdoors quickly and enjoy this aspect of Boulder, you will be in the perfect place at this home! In addition, Lucky's Market and the rest of their suite of stores (bakery, liquor, coffee shop, etc.) are easily within walking distance just down the street. There are multiple restaurants as well that you can walk to in the North Boulder area and you are also quite close to all that downtown Boulder has to offer (a bit of a longer walk, but certainly a short drive or Uber ride away). .....There is a great outdoor deck as well for lounging or having a small dinner gathering. Clean, comfortable, and close-in ....highly recommend Shana and Doug's home!
Lovely Home and Best Location
Doug and Shana are gracious hosts and we felt so comfortable in their home. Everyday we hiked around Wonderland Lake. We enjoyed dinners on the back porch enjoying views of the Foothills. The kitchen was fully equipped as i love to cook. The rooms were cozy and plants galore in the home. We could walk to the local organic market. The yard was fenced in for my dog too. I thoroughly enjoyed our visit!!!
We had a wonderful stay at Shana and Doug's home. It was very clean, comfortable and close to everything we wanted to do in Boulder. The Wonderlake area is quiet and and nice place to start hiking on nearby trails. Within walking is a great market, bakery, cafe and Spanish restaurant.
North Boulder Community Living
My family and I spent 10 weeks this summer at the Parker's primary residence. Shana and Doug were on site for some of our stay and eager to help with everything from sharing their personal chef to feeding our dog when we went camping for the weekend. Their house manager who was usually on site was equally friendly and attentive in caring for the indoor plants and garden.
The house is full of interesting books and treasures the Parkers have accumulated over the years from their travels. The kitchen is nicely appointed, the master suite is spacious and the home was clean and well maintained. We brought a lot of outdoor gear and their garage was already packed full of their gear (normal for adventuring types!), but we made due.
We found the location ideal. It is out of the hustle of downtown, so you need to drive or be up for a good bike ride to get there, but you can walk from the house to a couple cafes and great grocery. There is a beautiful lake right out the back door with a walking loop; my young boys spent hours exploring. And it's a great base for road cycling. It was our first trip to Boulder-we loved it!
Thanks for choosing our home for your extended stay in Boulder and we’re glad you had such a good time! Your cycling skill was awe inspiring and we are always happy to accommodate adventurers having a safe dry space for their gear and a parking space in the driveway for easy access to the garage and house.
For this particular rental we agreed to move our own bikes outside under our deck and made room for the 6 bikes, and full set of camping gear for the family. We unfolded our 6foot x 8foot picnic table and cleared off a 4x4 foot desk for the family to lay out their bike and camping gear in our garage. Please let us know your needs and we are happy to help.
The distance from our home to downtown/Pearl St is 2.37 miles and there is a frequent bus. We are also 3.8 miles to the 29th Street shopping mall. Many families prefer to just walk up to the corner for groceries and a great bakery and coffee shop.
We are always available to answer any questions to make sure we are a great fit for you!
Two minute walk to Wonderland Lake and trails into the foothills for lovely hiking even if you are new to altitude. Our house is a couple blocks to the bus.
