Our chic, charming and newly renovated apartment is the best value for your money you will find in Paris. The apartment is located on the Seine River in the heart of historic Paris known as the Ile de la Cite (trans. 'island in the city'), the perfect location to see the best landmarks, monuments and quarters surrounding the island on all sides. You will feel at home and completely relax in a luminous and serene space with an incredible view on the tranquil river and the historic monument Hotel de Ville (the Mayor's Renaissance palace). You cannot get more central than our apartment!
Sitting alongside Notre Dame Cathedral on the 'Ile de la cite' (Island) you are surrounded by the tranquil Seine River with unforgettable views on the beautiful Hotel de Ville (city hall).
It's the oldest preserved area of Paris with cobblestone streets and remnants of a Roman past, when Paris was born from the 'Parisi Tribe' which first settled on the island.
The center of Paris is best seen on foot, but the apartment is just steps away from bike, bus, subway, train, car and even boat transportation! Yes, really! There are bike rental stations along the street where you can rent bikes by the 1/2hr (http://en.velib.paris.fr/) and now there is even an electric car rental station (http://www.autolib.eu/) on the corner of our street! The bus line #38 stops near the apartment (stop # Cite - Palais de la Justice) and the train station St-Michel Notre Dame - RER B Train Line (direct to Charles de Gaulle aiport or to Orly Airport with a transfer) and the subway station Cité - Line 4 (fuschia) are just steps away. Lastly, the boat buses stop on either side of the island and it's a fun way to see the city from a different perspective.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. Is the Apartment in a safe area?
Yes. It's in the heart of Paris where it is always lively. The streets are well-lit at night, there is a code to enter into the building, and of course we're always near by if you're ever in need!
2. Where is the nearest grocery store?
There is a large supermarket on Rue de Rivoli not far from the apartment, however; the area around the Marais and the Ile St. Louis are known for their small specialty stores where you can find the best bread, cheese, wine and meat in Paris.
3. Can I make calls from the Apartment? How much are they?
There is a phone in the apartment, and you can call to the US for FREE with our carrier!
Some other destinations are free as well, please e-mail us with a list of countries you would like to call, and we'll let you know how little our carrier will charge.
You can also buy a pre-paid MobiCarte, which is a SIM card you can buy at any Tabac, to use with your own cellphone here.
4. How do I get there from the airport? How much is it?
-- TAXI : 35-45 Euros
-- Direct Train (RER B) from Charles de Gaulle Airport and Orly Airport to Gare du Nord, Chatelet or St. Michel metro stations : less than 9 euros/per person + a short walk to the apartment
5. How do I get around?
There is a vast metro/bus/train system in Paris that is easy to navigate, although the best mode of transport when you stay in the center of all the activity is by foot!
There is also a hop-on/hop-off sightseeing bus, as well as a hop on/hop off sightseeing boat! The lastest marvel is the new bike rental system! You can find one on almost any street corner - just rent it for however long you wish with your credit card (at what looks like an ATM) and off you go! (You can even return it to a different location, too).
6. How much would it be to stay in such a great location at a Hotel instead?
In fact there are no hotels directly on the Seine River on Ile de la Cite, that is what makes our apartment so special!
And we have all the amenities of a hotel - plus so much more!
We know you will enjoy your stay in our apartment, so much so that it will be difficult to leave!

Why Owner chose Notre Dame
Here are 4 good reasons why renting our apartment will make your vacation more memorable : 1. Location Location Location Fortunately, we are situated in the most centric and important part of the city, on an island on the Seine river. The island is called Ile de la Cite and it's the site of the original settlement of the Parisii tribe and the birthplace of Paris as we know it! 2. Unbeatable Comfort you won't find in any hotel We are avid travelers too and we know that a bad night's sleep on a really hard, lumpy mattress with a limp pillow can really ruin your trip. We've spared no expense in order for you to have the most satisfying night's sleep! 3. Luxurious furnishings and modern amenities Apart from the aforementioned comfortable bed, there are also big comfy chairs to recline in, plenty of closet space and suitcase storage, a large marble shower with vintage-looking chrome fixtures and a beautiful ceramic pedestal sink and suspended toilet. 4. You have total freedom (but we're there for you too) It's nice to get a warm welcome after a long-haul flight, most hotel receptionists in Paris are rude. There's no real customer service because seeing that Paris is the most visited place in the World (almost 8mil in 2011), they know they'll always be full. We will always welcome you with a smile as we are genuinely pleased for you to be our guests!
What makes this Apartment unique
You will fall in love with the BREATHTAKING VIEWS on the Seine River and Paris Monuments! The location is in the heart of Paris, in the historic city center. The apartment is in mint condition for being more than 400 years old! We tried our best to preserve the original charm by uncovering the wood beams in the ceiling that we discovered are signed and dated, a real rarity. The apartment is just magical, you feel like you stepped back in time.

Well kept and well equipped! Small, but perfect for one or two. I spent most of my time ,when in the apartment,in the comfortable chairs watching the river anyway. It was cool when I arrived and the electric fire was both warm and fun. Two burner stove with light and fan worked well and every kitchen tool was supplied. Coffee, tea, sugar, salt and pepper all supplied as well as a bottle of wine!Great security and centrally located so both banks and both islands easy to get to. Every contingency that could be anticipated was and attention to a problem very prompt. Marie Christine took time to explain everything and book of instructions and suggestions was helpful too.
I may never want to stay anywhere else when in Paris!
Loved this apartment. Did not want to leave!!
I had a wonderful time in this apartment.. It fits two perfectly and is one of the prettiest/coziest/most convenient places I've ever stayed.
Lovely apartment in perfect location
We enjoyed our stay in this charming apartment. The location is so convenient and the views are stunning. The apartment is beautifully maintained. While small, the apartment has everything you need for a comfortable stay.
Perfect small apartment with everything you need. The location really can't be beat. Close to great shops, cafes, bakery, metro and of course the view of the river was amazing. Loved waking up to coffee (which Marie-Christine provided), very short walk to an amazing bakery and then off for the days adventures. The bathroom was updated and perfect for our needs and I must say the washer/dryer was wonderful to wash mid stay so we could pack light. Thank you Marie Christine for being the perfect host and provided such a beautiful spot for so many of us to enjoy!
Highly recommend this beautiful, romantic and highly secure pied-a-terre. The place was so well equipped!! Marie Christine was very responsive and spent over an hour with us upon check-in to go through the place with us and even make reservations for a couple of enjoyable restaurants we never would have known of except for her recommendations. Patisserie right around the corner and grocery store close. Upon arrival, we had coffee, cream, bottle of wine and over a case of water at our disposal. Also, many books of resource available. I was concerned of the size for my boyfriend and myself for the 5 nights but wasn't an issue whatsoever. Would definitely stay again in a heartbeat
Small but lovely & great location!
Les Îles was a lovely property. Perhaps a bit smaller than I expected but they have made the most of every inch of space and the decor and finishes are top notch! Plenty of closet space and shelves. I found the bed a bit hard and small—it’s closer to full size than queen. But the linens were luxurious and the pillows soft and fluffy down. The shower was great as was the very powerful hairdryer! And there were plenty of extra supplies in the medicine cabinet that we were welcome to use. The towels were large and thick but not fluffy—as is often the case, they were line dried so they’re not soft. But there are plenty of them. We put the bed up (which was very easy to do) every morning so we’d have room to walk around. There are two large, super comfy chairs facing the Seine where I’d spend time in the mornings reading. The location is terrific—convenient to Saint Germain, the Marais, the Louvre, Luxembourg Gardens, rue Mouffetard, and of course, Notre Dame in your back yard! And Marie-Christine was very responsive before and during our stay. Thank you!
We hope you will get out and see as much as you can of the most magical place in the World! Our luxury apartment is situated on the Seine River in the heart of historic Paris known as the Ile de la Cite (trans. 'island in the city'), the perfect location to see the best landmarks, monuments and quarters surrounding the island on all sides. The island is the original birthplace of Paris and therefore the epicenter of the capital and the starting point for visiting the other historic quarters on the Right and Left banks of the Seine River (the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th districts of Paris). The Point Zero (marks the spot from which all distances are measured in France) can be found in front of the famous Notre Dame Cathedral, the Gothic paragon whose first stone was laid in 1163 during the Middle Ages. Under your feet lies the remains from first settlers in Paris, from the Gallo-Romans to the the Parisii Tribe (from which Paris gets its name) which can be seen by visiting the Archeological Crypt below Notre Dame. A pleasant stroll across Pont St-Louis bridge from Ile de la Cite will take you to a smaller, quaint island Ile St. Louis which has a distinct 17th c. architectural character, home to tiny specialized shops and Bertillon, the famous ice cream maker. Back at point zero and crossing the northernmost bridge from the island, The 1st quarter is where you will find the gilded Opera, the majestic Louvre, the jewelry shops around Place Vendome and luxury boutiques like Dior, Chanel, Hermes, etc. Further afield you will see the awe-inspiring Eiffel Tower which is best viewed from a dinner-cruise along the Seine river. Another day you can set off to visit the 2nd quarter, where you will find the lively working-class and commercial center of Paris with the Bourse (trans. 'Stock Exchange'), many pedestrian walking streets with shops, bars, cafes and a contrasting, sometimes gritty atmosphere. The 3rd quarter is the more tranquil part of the medieval le Marais district where you will find the Picasso museum, and other hidden gems such as the Marche Enfants Rouges, a cute open-air food market. Back to point zero, the island where the apartment is situated is officially part of the 4th quarter. From the windows of the apartment you can see the Hotel de Ville, a beautiful Renaissane palace housing the city hall. To get there, cross the Pont d'Arcole bridge onto the Right Bank where you will also find the famous Pompidou modern art museum and the livelier part of the Marais district with the best boutiques and places to eat/drink. Also housing the old Jewish quarter, the gay district and the most expensive place to live in Paris by square meter: the beautiful Place de Vosges square. The 5th quarter can be reached crossing le Petit Pont bridge from the Island onto the Left Bank where you will find the intellectual, artistic and philosophical center of Paris. First you will come across the animated Latin Quarter, crawling with bars, bookstores and university students from La Sorbonne. Further on there is the Romanesque Pantheon and charming gardens of Jardin des Plantes and a quaint zoo. Further north in the affluent St. Germain district you can find art galleries, luxury shops and swanky bars/cafes such as the illustrious Cafe de Flore or Le Deux Magots (literally means 'nest eggs'). Home to the famous Luxembourg gardens, you can put your feet up and relax while you write in your journal about all the amazing and enriching things you've done and seen!
