January 2018 Stay
We had a great time in Captains Walk 401. It was a beautiful view from condo even though it was cold and windy. The 3 baths were great for each bedroom.
Carolyn, Thank you so much for sharing your positive experience and gorgeous photo from the balcony of the blue January skies! You should try April and May next time :-) We look forward to seeing you on your return visits to Hilton Head Island! ~ The Goode Vacation Rentals team
We had a great week at Captain's Walk! The condo was very nice and in the perfect location! We were ocean front and minutes from the beach or pool. The condo being on the end was very private. The condo is minutes from Kroger, other shops and restaurants but in a very quiet and private community. We loved being able to rent bikes close by. Next time we will rent bikes for the full week. The general store in the community was an added bonus. The entire condo was very nice, the master is very large. The sleeper sofa was very comfortable. We had a group of 8 adults and had plenty of room. There aren't many dish towels or pot holders which can be inconvenient if you plan on cooking. But that's the only fault I could say about the condo. I would definitely stay here again!
October 2017 Stay
I just rented 401 Captains Walk through Sheri and Id just like to let you know that we enjoyed our stay so much and didnt want to leave I did one extra night and even that wasnt enough. The location was perfect since I have to roll my mom in a wheelchair and i have a special needs grandson this was perfect since it has steps off the deck for him.
Sarah, Thank you for your kind words! We are so happy your family has enjoyed this lovely condo as you have, and that you have booked to return to this same unit later this year! We agree that this condo is a great options for everyone, including families with young children as well as guests with mobility issues. The steps off the patio are convenient and the view out to the ocean and to the beautiful blue skies is lovely, even from an elevated first floor condo. I can go on and on all day about how much we love this property, but you already know! We look forward to welcoming your family back this year! ~ Sheri, Goode Vacation Rentals
Great place and great location.
We really enjoyed the size and location.
June 2017 Stay
We were very skeptical about the bad reviews, but we decided on short notice and with two teenagers we wanted to be as close as possible to the beach! When we arrived we discovered that the "villa" is a condo!!! The term villa in the text was a bit misleading
Bedrooms and bathrooms are updated and quite comfy, towels and bedlinen were clean, but have seen better days and felt very thin and tied, the kitchen and the content of the kitchen was disappointing! For $400+ a night I aspected to have plates, cutlery, glasses to set the table for four ( the appartment sleeps 6 +) but everything is an accumulation of what guests left behind, very disappointing!!
Fridge and oven look new, but the cabinets are painted over and the hardware is falling off....
With this said, you can see the ocean while having a snack in the dinning room and less than 100 yards got our teenagers of the sofa and into the water! So this "villa" delivered, but next time I drive 9 hours to HHI we will go to a beachside hotel!
Besides, check wi
Disappointing b/c outdated and run-down
We have been coming to Hilton Head for several years and always stay at Captain's Walk. We love the lowkey-ness of the place and easy access to pool and beach. However, this unit was a HUGE disappoint. It's very outdated and run-down.
1. The dishwasher top rack is rusted and gross - missing parts of the rack. Additionally, the dishwasher comes out of the wall.
2. The refrigerator is all rusty too. Plus the wall next to it was covered in food b/c the trash can sits there - not sure why the cleaning staff didn't wipe down.
3. There were limited kitchen supplies. Our kids love making virgin margaritas etc and there was no blender. The can opener was busted. The toaster handle fell off.
4. The towel rack in the master is not screwed in properly so you can not hang a towel or bathing suit from it without it falling out of the wall.
5. 6-8 of the lightbulbs were not working. We emailed management; but got so frustrated by lack of light, we had to purchase our own lightbulbs.
6. There were cigarette butts all down the stairs leading down from balcony.
7. Several roaches kept appearing which is normal for the area, but just added to the gross factor.
8. We could hear the footsteps of the upstairs neighbors - so they must not have carpet. This was frustrating if you wanted to sleep in.
9. The decor is dusty and outdated. Owners need to clean out the fake flower arrangements and random vases everywhere
The layout is great. But the owners need to put some serious care into the unit for the price and to remain competitive.
