We had a brilliant holiday at this villa. Very clean and comfortable and a lovely and private pool and outdoor area. Great base to explore from and to come back to every day. Just what we needed for a very relaxed holiday
Perfect family holiday home
Just as described, beautifully clean, amazing welcome by Brit’s with milk, beer, wine, cheese, bread, butter, jam & fruit. Towel & linen changes and cleaning all included. Great location to explore the beaches of south east Kefalonia (we visited 8 during our 2 week stay). Lovely pool. Inflatables and beach toys for young children available. A taverna within walking distance. Lidl 15 mins away, bakery 7 mins away. Everything one could wish for. And the weather ? Hot hot hot! Great holiday.
Wonderful villa, well appointed. Views to die for. Pool best we have had. Easy drive to beaches and into Agostoli. Hope other holiday makers find this rather large gem. So glad I did. Thank you for the welcome pack, most appreciated.
Nice, private and comfortable villa
My husband and I stayed a week in the villa and have absolutely no complaints. Considering we live in a small 2 bedroom apartment in Manhattan it was nice to stretch out. The main bedroom and bathroom was quite spacious though I could see that the other two bedrooms might be cramped if accommodating two persons each. The villa was spotless upon arrival and the on site rep, Sam was friendly and helpful. The pool was definitely the highlight- it must have been heated because it wasn't bone chilling like most Greek pools I have used. Every morning I tried to get some "laps" in so I didn't feel so guilty eating the wonderful Greek food. The kitchen is very well equipped and spices, salt, coffee, tea etc. were in supply likely from previous guests (we left coffee as well). My husband was particularly impressed with the cooling power of the refrigerator- yes it's hard to open, but we have the same problem with our fridge at home. You just need to be patient after opening and reopening. There is a Carrefour on the road to Argostoli to stock up on everything you need. The only slightly downside is that there are no real tavernas within walking distance. That being said, there are plenty very good places within a couple minutes drive. I would definitely recommend to anyone staying on Kefalonia.
Fantastic villa on a beautiful Island
First stay in this wonderful villa. Exceptionally clean and very well maintained. The villa is very spacious and cool with the help of the air conditioning. Fantastic pool/bbq area with plenty of room for sun loungers, table and chairs. Wonderful local restaurants all within a 10-15 minute drive from the villa and a good selection of supermarkets too. Would definately recommend a stay in this wonderful villa. Such a relaxing and fun holiday.
Fabulous Luxury Villa
This is our second stay in this wonderful property, we last stayed here six years ago and it is as nice now as it was then.
The villa is clean and exceptionally well maintained. Everything is taken care of and there are many thoughtful touches.
The villa is spacious and cool thanks to the air conditioning.
The pool area is fantastic and we used the barbecue on a couple of the nights when we weren't eating out in the wonderful local restaurants that were recommended by the owners.
You will need a car to get to the beach, restaurants and shops which are around 15 minutes away as Karavados is a little village set on the hillside. Highly recommended for a relaxing family holiday.
Located on the breathtaking island of Kefalonia, Villa Marbirini is situated near the south-west coast on the outskirts of the charming village of Karavados, only 15-20 minutes drive from the airport and the island's capital, Argostoli, where there is a stunning seafront harbour backed by fantastic mountain scenery, a plentiful supply of tavernas and shops and fashionable town square. Giant turtles can be found in Argostoli Bay patrolling the local fishing boats for titbits whilst the local fishermen sell their daily catches each morning to the public at the harbour's edge! There are many exquisite sandy beaches and traditional Greek Tavernas within a few minutes drive of the Villa, which is a great base to explore the island's many attractions, such as the nearby St Georges Castle. Other places to visit are Lake Melisani and Drogarati Caves, Antisamos beach (location for Captain Corelli's Mandolin filming), St Gerasimos Monastery, Assos with its Venetian Fort and the picturesque port towns of Fiskardo, Sami and Agia Efimia. Mini-markets are within easy walking distance and the nearest beach, St Thomas, is about 2km away. The stunning Mount Aenos is the Villa's backdrop and to the front fabulous views across the sea over to Zakynthos.
