About Monique and/or Matt Pines

We love our foreside home! We walked in two years ago when house searching, and could immediately see ourselves settling in...We have done some minor renovations/adjustments inside and major landscaping projects outside! We love our neighborhood with short walking trail, and beach access for our dog. Because of our jobs, we leave our home each summer, and exchange it for lakeside living in southwestern Maine. We hope you love it as much as we do!

Why Monique and/or Matt Pines chose Portland & Casco Bay

This family home is an open-concept living space, with lots of windows - very bright and cheerful. It has two back decks, and stone patio for dining and entertaining. The beautiful backyard has a gorgeous stone fire-pit, shaded by trees. The dead end street is peaceful and quiet. Very safe for kids and walking/running-friendly.

We will accept discounted rates for longer stays.

What makes this house unique

Comes with beach access and a walking trail; local market for delicious breakfast sandwiches, lunch, etc., and playground for small children. Foreside Falmouth is a very active community with lots of runners and walkers! The home is very near route one, and just 10-15 min drive to downtown Old Port Portland, and 15 min to quaint Freeport, home of the LLBean flagship store and tons of outlets. We are also very near the Maine Audubon.

Perfect

We were there for 5 nights with our daughter, her husband and two small grandchildren. The house is bright, airy, open, with enough room to be together, and also to find privacy. The kitchen is fantastic and so well stocked. We loved our stay.

Spacious, light, open and airy

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed the house and the area we were in equally. The home was welcoming and light and airy. We spent most evenings in the backyard sitting beside the fire pit. The home is modern and well appointed. The area restaurants were plentiful but our favorite was the Royal River Grill House, great food and better ambiance. Matt and Monique were incredibly helpful with restaurants, shops and things to do. Thank you for allowing us to rent your home. It was fabulous.

restful and spacious home

  • 5 of 5

My family and I had a wonderful time at this terrific Maine home near Portland. The house was very well furnished and well organized. The two large bedrooms were terrific, with a very large en suite master bathroom with two separate lavatories and a great shower/tub. The master bedroom was connected with an open porch, perfect for morning coffee, reading, etc. The second bedroom had a (also large) bathroom across the hall. There was a third bedroom, suitable for young children, that we did not use. Downstairs there was a large open kitchen, dining room, and big living room, with all necessary furnishings. There was also a quiet study, a bathroom, and a mud room. The house was well located; about 25 minutes from the Portland airport and 15-20 minutes from downtown Portland. The house also had a lovely back porch on the first floor, excellent for dining, as well as a grill and a separate patio/fire pit area. Matt and Monique were ideal hosts, accommodating our latish arrival time, explaining how the house worked, orienting us to the neighborhood, and giving us advice about nearby places to visit. We did not swim at the nearby beach because it was low tide but we found a good state beach about a half hour away.

A clean, comfy & very homey abode in a wonderful neighborhood.

From the outset both Monique & Matt were very gracious & open. The home is very well appointed & furnished including 2 gorgeous outdoor seating areas. The first floor plan is nice & open, and the bedrooms on the second floor offer lots of privacy. Falmouth is close enough to Portland (in Old Port in 20 minutes, 25 with "traffic" lol), and even places like Boothbay Harbor are only an hour away via car - which makes for some nice day trips. The fenced backyard was a great little playground for Ruby (our welsh springer) and she enjoyed the nice strolls down to the water's edge. I recommend you bring a couple box fans to pull in the wonderful Maine fresh air. There are nice circulating fans located throughout the house so you just need a way to draw in the outdoor air.
