Great location to tour the hill towns, and perfect space for the 7 of us who stayed there.
A very good value for the money. We used the house as a base for exploring the medieval towns in Tuscany and Umbria, which were within an hour or so of Siena. The house has 4 bedrooms and comfortably accommodated the 7 of us for 10 nights. We usually had dinner out, but on the few occasions we stayed in for the evening the kitchen was perfectly functional. The property also has a large pool for guests. Francesca and her husband, who manage the property, were very helpful with everything from recommendations regarding grocery stores and guides, to suggesting restaurants, and securing drivers for those in our group who wanted to spend a day on their own. A lovely place that we highly recommend.
WONDERFUL PROPERTY AND BEAUTIFUL OWNERS!!! Cannot wait to come back!!!
Thank you Franchesca for making our 50th birthday celebrations so special. This property is exquisite. The property is spotless inside and out!!! I would recommend this property to everyone...and I am very picky!!! The countryside and the location is great, easy access to Firenze, wonderful wineries, and the most amazing little villages!!! My only complaint - wasn't long enough!!! Gracia!!!!
Thank you so much for your words!!
We are happy you loved our villa and the surroundings.
First class villa with helpful & friendly owner in great location
We have just returned from spending a week in this well appointed villa set in a beautiful location. The owner Francesca was friendly and helpful. I would have no hesitation in recommending this villa and it was perfect for three couples to stay in. Thank you
We are very happy to have welcomed you at our home! Thank you for your reviews!
Enjoyed a great week
Accomodation clean and well maintained. Bug free too. Air con in bedrooms a well needed relief from the 40 degree heatwave we experienced. Pool fabulous - great size and kept clean. We had a car so enjoyed being away from the towns. Would highly recommend this property. A couple of softer pillows would have been appreciated but that is down to personal preference.
Thank you for your review and suggestion, we'll buy some softer pillows to fit a wider number of people.
Fantastic Villa is stunning countryside
We spent 7 nights at Legnaia at Borgo la Chiusa in July 2017. Our family of four, 2 adults and 2 children aged 12 and 15, all had a great time. The villa is immaculately presented both inside and out with outstanding facilities, especially the outdoor seating/dining areas and the swimming pool. Our host Simone met us at the villa on arrival and explained everything for us and was available throughout for any issues or advice. The town of Siena is only a 10min drive and both Florence and Pisa are about an hours drive away so perfectly situated.
We wouldn't hesitate to return.
Thank you for your great words! Your satisfaction is our first and foremost goal!
We are very happy you and your family enjoyed the villa and had a great time visiting our beautiful land!
If HomeAway Allowed 10 Stars, This Place Would Get Them!!
What an absolutely incredible experience! Let's start w/ the management company: Simone was fabulous, answering all of our questions before booking and even sending additional pictures of the villa when asked. Simone also set up an exquisite dinner prepared in the villa by Chef Elisa--all 8 of us highly recommend that experience.
There are three separate villas on the property, and we stayed in the center one, La Legnaia. Our stay included 8 adults and the 4 bedrooms worked wonderfully! Due to a 2+ hour ordeal getting our rental cars at the Fumacino airport, we did not arrive at our villa until just after 10:00 pm both tired & hungry. The owner, Francesca, was there to welcome us and called a nearby restaurant, Il Grillo Moro, to get a table for all 8 of us. Even though the restaurant was to close at 10:30, she persuaded the person on the other end of the line to seat us at 10:30. The meal was marvelous (see separate review in TripAdvisor).
At the time of our stay, Siena was experiencing a heat wave. The two lower level bedrooms rooms were perfectly cool without air conditioning & the two upper bedrooms are equipped with air conditioning. The kitchen/dining/living room does not have air conditioning, however opening the front and rear doors allowed for a nice cross-breeze.
Francesca and her husband were on the grounds nearly every day, so if we needed something (new ping pong balls or charcoal briquette starter) she was able and happy to accommodate.
The villa, it's grounds and the swimming pool are all immaculate! All 8 of us agree that we would rent this villa again without hesitation. Our stay here was definitely one of the highlights of our visit to Italy!
Thank you so much for your wonderful words!
We are all very glad you and your friends loved the villa, the pool and the "dinner experience"!
We would be delighted to welcome you again!
Borgo la Chiusa is a small hamlet just outside Siena, the best preserved medieval town of Italy, whose community retains its ancient traditions. A perfect location to relax and visit art cities like Florence, San Gimignano, Pienza, Volterra, the leaning tower of Pisa. Tuscany is the land of Art and Culture, home to Leonardo, Galileo, Michelangelo whose homes, museums and masterpieces you'll be able to admire on a day trip from Borgo la Chiusa. Il Palio di Siena, a thrilling traditional horserace, takes place in the centre of Siena every year in July and August. Tuscany is also famous for its red wines. On a day trip you can visit Chianti, Montalcino, Montepulciano, Scansano and why not Bolgheri. For those of you who love unspoilt nature, Maremma is an hour away. The gorgeous Mediterranean coast is only 70 km away, with Castiglione della Pescaia, Punta Ala, Follonica, La Carbonaia. Perugia in Umbria is only 110 kms away.
