Why William Milliken chose Southwest Harbor
Because this property stands alone as a true open-ocean vacation spot for young and old alike, so many activities, things to see, visit on America's most beautiful island. Lies on the southerly tip of western way where it becomes open ocean. Ships must pass here on approach or departure from the harbor to the open sea. From the deck you will never see another home, is totally natural with a view toward the end of the world.
What makes this House unique
Only 3 miles from the village which offers all services, library, shopping, supermarket, liquor store, all this convenience, yet very privately tucked in off the road buffered by spruce trees facing the ocean. If you have children there's a world of things to do, free bus service by "island explorer" will pick you up at the gate, and bring you back safely. Freshwater spring-fed lake has wonderful beach only 5 miles away. Southwest harbor is the "quietside", far removed from downtown bar harbor, often called the key west of the north. Driving time to bar harbor is 25 minutes. 60% of mount desert island is public parkland, with plenty of hiking trails, popular "sand beach", breathtaking views, often called "america's most beautiful island"

Seawall Southwest Harbor House
Seawall is a beautiful home, secluded and private. Very well equipped and immaculately clean with so many amenities. The kitchen is well stocked with every appliance you can think of. The owner has thought of everything to make your stay extremely comfortable and homey. The views of the ocean are spectacular. Sitting on the porch was awesome, as well as fires on the beach. He provides the wood and kindling. You really don't need to bring a thing. Towels and bed linens are provided too. You can even hitch a ride on a free shuttle bus that can take you to various places in Acadia National Park. Great yard for children in to play too. I highly recommend it, you won't be disappointed.
Property is spectacular, many guests never leave to see all there is to do on the island. A week is not long enough to see all the attractions
