About Andrew and Catherine Berg
We purchased this property after many wonderful visits to Maine, predominantly for winter sports. With three sons - all skiers/boarders/fishing enthusiasts - we chose a home that afforded opportunities for each of these activities. We have not been disappointed!
Andrew and Catherine Berg purchased this House in 2011
Why Andrew and Catherine Berg chose Naples
This property has a perfect layout/flow. It is bright and welcoming - no dark and spooky Stephen Kingish rooms. It is in great condition, having been recently renovated completely on the entry level, and in the kitchen. We love that we access Trickey Pond directly in front of our home - it is probably no more than fifty yards from the front door. With the town of Naples a quick trip away (including the Umbrella Factory grocery), we loved the access to all the conveniences while maintaining that 'million miles away' feel. Trickey Pond road is a dead end, which also is great for jogging, walking, and minimal traffic.
What makes this House unique
Seventy Six Trickey Pond is renovated and in wonderful condition. Close to everything you'll need - pharmacy, grocery, dining. You'll love hearing (and seeing) the loons that populate the pond each summer.
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
Fantastic house on a quiet lake.
We spent the week of July 4th on Trickey Pond, and had a great time. This house has everything you could want to enjoy a summer vacation in Maine: boats, lobster pots, a firepit - you name it. It became a bit of a game during our stay: who could think of something the house didn't have? There was plenty of room for all of us, with extra space for a few friends to stay over for a night during our trip. The kitchen is well-stocked with utensils, dishes, etc., and the 'honor system' for liquor, spices, and other things everybody needs seems to work great. We had fantastic weather (after a first night of incredible rain and wind), and were able to enjoy the porches and backyard all week long, with limited bug attacks.
Trickey Pond is great - we used the canoe and kayaks practically every day, and went up and down the length of the lake exploring. Our young daughters loved this, and were excited when we found the (in)famous rope swing. Luckily, we also found the smaller swing - the big one is clearly for those in their teenage years and beyond - which worked just fine for them.
It's a short drive (10 minutes at most) to Naples, for groceries, miniature golf and ice cream, but we spent the bulk of our time at the house and on the lake, just relaxing.
The owners are friendly, accessible and responsive, and clearly care about their home and their guests - I would recommend this house to anyone looking for a quiet getaway near a lake.
All the stars here!
5 star accommodations under a starry sky on a peaceful lake. We had a wonderful two-week stay, and it wasn't enough! We worked with the gracious owners to extend our stay, and enjoyed an old school Fourth of July on Trickey Pond. The house is gracious and comfortable, perfectly clean, and offers a sweet view of the pond. We practically lived on the farmer's porch--eating and chatting and listening to loons. The kitchen is amazing--everything you could think of. The master bedroom suite is pretty and airy and far more spacious than we expected at a lake house. We enjoyed the canoe and kayaks, paddling out to the island for a dip and a try on the rope swing. Naples had everything that makes summer fun--cocktails by the sunset, super ice cream, a great grocery, a pie shop!, and nearby a drive in theater--we went three times. Another nice detail--the dead end road was perfect for jogging, and the neighbors we met along the way were very friendly. For biking, the shady state park is only about a mile away. Teens and adults all had a memorable stay, and we would like to return.
First of all, your place in Maine is one of the nicest places we have ever rented. Everything was clean, organized and very well kept. Being able to have two kayaks and a canoe right at the property and so convenient to the pond was really appreciated by the kids AND the adults. The poker table was enjoyed by all as was telling ghost stories around the outdoor fireplace. The only suggestion that I might have is to have less stock inventory so that there is more shelf space for the renter's supplies. I would HIGHLY recommend your place to anyone without hesitation and look forward to renting again. Thank you so much for all you do to keep your renters happy.
Maine lakeside at its best
We have rented many lakeside houses in Maine over the last 20 years and this one was by far the best equipped and the most comfortable. The owner Andy, was very helpful and easy to deal with. We enjoyed canoeing and kayaking on Trickey pond, and Naples was very convenient for dining and shopping. We also enjoyed the house's deck and balcony for relaxing and reading. We would certainly give our full recommendation to the house, location and the owner, and hope we can come back again in the future.
This is a real treat, every furnishing that you could possibly imagine was supplied. This is the owners home, not just a camp. the owners are easy to work with and resolve problems quickly (power outage during our July stay). The porch up stairs was very comforting to have coffee and just look over the lake, the fire pit in back of the house was nice and secluded, and just a place where you can relax and enjoy the scenery.
Thanks Andy it was great
Stayed for a week in July, have been coming to Trickey Pond for years and this year we needed a bit more room as the kids are older now, This house was wonderful, clean, well stocked with everything imaginable, plenty of room for older kids to hang out downstairs. Top of the line appliances. Owners were always responsive to all questions. Will be back next year for sure.
Our home is located just four miles from the center of Naples, a very quaint and active little town. There are plenty of dining and shopping options there, as well as within a short drive. There is an adventure park with zip lines and many other activities just twenty minutes away. Trickey Pond is one of the most beautiful bodies of water in the Sebago Lakes region. It is so clear it's wonderful for swimming and snorkeling. Our home is fully equipped with all the amenities for a comfortable stay. We have a canoe and two kayaks for your use, water toys, beach towels and chairs. We are right around the corner from Sebago State park and many other wonderful hiking, picnicking, and fishing areas. Portland is a 45 minute drive, and Kennebunk is just an hour away. Old Orchard beach is about an hour as well. The outlets shops of North Conway are 45 minutes away, and those of Freeport (including the LL Bean flagship store) are one hour's drive.
