Condo, 1 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4)
About Jenny Blaylock
This stunning home is managed by Simplicity Vacation Property Management, but the owners love to come to Catalina Island and partake in the island activities such as snorkeling, zip lining, hiking, etc. BUT they also love to eat! Catalina has some of the best food - be sure to try Big Olaf's ice cream and the Cheese Bread! Enjoy!
Jenny Blaylock purchased this Condo in 2012
Why Jenny Blaylock chose Avalon
This unit has been completely remolded and all the furnishings have been purchased very carefully for this home....it shows like a designer model. Our home is very open and comfortable...the way a vacation home should feel. Because it is 1275 square feet, unlike most other two bedrooms that are below 1000 square feet, you have room to unwind when staying with a family.
What makes this Condo unique
While staying in Hamilton Cove many guests love to snorkel off our private beach as a family. Father and son can play basketball while Mother and daughter enjoy the play ground or look for sea glass at the beach. Please enjoy the pool and spa and mini golfing as a family. Also, feel free to take advantage of the work-out facilities or just relax on the patio while enjoying the spectacular view. If you want to leave, this unit comes with a really nice golf cart that will take you anywhere you need to go on the island.
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
Magnificent Stay - Highly Recommend
Hamilton Cove never disappoints and this condo was sublime. Starting with the set-up with Jenny, everything was smooth and easy. The dishes and cooking supplies were all new and there was everything you need and more to cook. And, cook we did a few nights on the balcony with the breathtaking views of the coast. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms well supplied. We would highly recommend for anyone.
Best Catalina Vacation Ever
We had never stayed at Hamilton Cove before but decided to do so to be close to the Descanso Beach Club which we had heard nice things about...what a GREAT decision. We rented the adjacent units. One is called Buffalo Mike and the other is the Mermaid. They were both so cute I could barely stand it and the views were spectacular. The houses have everything someone could ask for in a vacation house. From the dishes and utencils in the kitchen to the well stoked supplies everything was wonderful. We were only on the island for a short time, but we had to take advantage of the balconies and bbq one evening. If you have never seen the California coast from Catalina at night you MUST do so. A simply amazing view.
We were very pleased with the amount of space for sleeping as we had two extended families. Especially for an island home. The layout was great and there is wifi and TV's but we were out most of the time.
Particulary helpful to us were the golf carts. They are needed after the stairs which aren't that bad, but does take a few minutes to get up, but that is a small price for the marvelous view of the Pacific and California coast. The island was great and we enjoyed every minute of the stay.
A special thanks to Jenny who was always kind and helpful in our planning and stay. Can't wait to come back
We got married in Avalon and honeymooned in this villa. It was amazing! Very well appointed and comfy. And the view is over the top!! You do have to be able to traverse 75 steps to get up to it, but when you do, you won't ever want to leave.
A lot cleanliness and maintenance would have been nice!
Filthy and smelly couch made it impossible to enjoy our stay! T.V. Internet didn't work! After reading manual several times still couldn't get music. Sheets, blankets, linens and towels gross due to not being washed! Wash machine not working with leaking faucets. No Ajax or sponges to clean with, had to purchase our own! REALLY!!!!!!!!
It wasn't the unit I was expecting, I don't have the emails of correspondence but better communication would of been nice. I had specified the blue unit and was told that was the one I was getting. We had guests planned for 2 days and expected their own room. The murphy bed room was really small. The couch was very stained up! We had to cover it with sheets. Burned out light bulbs or missing bulbs. Needs a good dusting! Lots of battery operated candles all around, but none worked- that would of been a nice touch. The bird cage withshells in the master - full of dust!! 72 steps up was also a surprise. That should be in the description!
Priceless view, great cardio workout but in need of rehab
Hamilton Cove is away from the crowds and bustle of Avalon. A beautiful setting much like Greece. There are no elevators and a LOT of stairs to this unit. Be aware when you come with luggage and/or groceries - have someone drop you at the top and come down rather than at the bottom (where golf cart if parked) and going up. Going up empty handed is doable. The interior is spacious for a larger group or mixed group. The second bedroom set up is totally impractical because with the murphy bed down you can not open or shut the door. Also, there is a table in the room so that when the bed is down the room is totally impassable on all sides. The couch is very stained. All wood furniture and cabinetry is worn and beat up. The faucet in the first bathroom is completely loose. There is no shelf in the shower for shampoo, etc. When we arrived there were no hot pads, one dish towel, no dish rags or sponges and no hand soap. We called and they quickly brought us dish towels and sponges. They provided lotion and conditioner but no soap or shampoo. Plenty of hair dryers. Only one bathroom has a shower - so plan accordingly. The kitchen dishes/pans/utensils are very hodge podge and the knives are all very dull. The view from your balcony is amazing and relaxing. The new grocery store in town is awesome and we ended up eating and grilling at the condo most of the time. Having a golf cart is awesome due to the location being about one mile from town. If it is cool and you have the windows down - it is difficult to see out the sides because the windows are very fogged/scratched/aged. If it is warm and you have them rolled up - no biggie. We drove around all week and only used a little over 1 gallon of gas. I went to the fitness center each morning and walked on the treadmill looking out over the ocean. Pool and hottub are both very nice with great views. PUtting course, tennis courts, croquet provide plenty of activities. We never used the washer/dryer - but a great convenience to have available. TV's and Netflix are nice touch - you can also connect your own entertainment via HDMI cable if desired. Lots of unexpected steps inside the unit can catch you by surprise until you get used to it (one step down into kitchen and great room). Definitely due for an overhaul - but the price and location were right for us.
Hamilton Cove is a resort like condominium unit. On the property of Hamilton Cove you can enjoy working out in a state of the art gym with ocean views. This gym has a spa and massage services available. The club house is adjoined with a large family pool and jacuzzi overlooking to private beach. The beach has sand volleyball, a playground for the kids, BBQs and a basketball court - all on the water with gorgeous views! The property also has tennis courts, boche ball, croquet and a full sized mini golf course. Aside from dining, there is no reason to leave the property!
