About the property

Carriage House, 1 Bedroom (sleeps 3). Romantic Getaway

Elegant Mountain Top ranch cabin. Recently constructed. Imagine enjoying the quiet of a 105 acre mountain ranch. Modern amenities provide the backdrop for a peaceful get away. Situated on a working ranch with horses, llamas, and wandering wildlife, you will quickly forget the hectic pace of the everyday work place.

Bordering on Pikes Peak National forest, you can hike for hours. Gold medal fly fishing rivers are but a short drive from your mountain getaway. In the winter, bring your cross country skis or snowshoes. Nothing like a solitude walk while exploring the beauty of the Colorado Rockies. For extra excitement, travel to Cripple Creek for an evening of gambling and shows.

A beautiful rustic setting awaits your return with leather furnishings, large kitchen and formal dining table. Life as it should be!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at Elkwood ranch. The views of Pikes' Peak and the ranch land from the large well furnished deck are fantastic, and you could watch the sun rise from a large window in the bedroom. We saw some great wildlife from hummingbirds to prairie dogs, and hawks soaring. In addition to the natural wildlife, as a working farm we also got to meet some Lamas, goats, horses, sheep, and dogs. Even with all the wildlife and farm animals things were very quiet and peaceful. Upon our arrival we were shown around the well appointed apartment, given advice on local trails, restaurants, and points of interest by Chuck. After our introductions we were left alone, but told if we needed anything, just ask.

Thanks again Chuck and Joy for sharing your wonderful ranch.

Peak experience

  • 5 of 5

Plenty of space, comfort and all the daily comforts and accessories you could want. Comfortable large bed with giant window onto the horses and llamas outside. And a spectacular view of Pike's Peak from the huge deck. Other than that, it was pretty nice.

Wonderful View

  • 5 of 5

The place was beautiful, nicely decorated, clean, open and surrounded by nature. Every view was wonderful from sunrise to sunset. Nothing but the sounds of animals and nature, very peaceful and relaxing after our day trips. We plan to return and stay at the same place again,

The ranch the carriage house was on was lovely. We enjoyed waking up to the parade of llamas going past our deck.

I could live here

  • 5 of 5

I am a city girl but a country/farm girl at heart. I absolutely love every minute of our experience at Chuck and Joy's place. The peaceful and majestic property is breathtaking. We are parents of 3 and took this weekend just for us. Husband and wife. It was refreshing and being in that environment you really are able to "check out" and relax/rest in a way we are never able to do at home! We have been before and did all the activities and sight seeing which was equally amazing so whether you are looking for a time of adventure or a time of rest this place offers both!! As I said I'm the title.....I could live there.
