About shelley Adams
I love traveling and meeting new people. My children were raised bi-cultural, between Europe and the U.S., with a profound love for nature, growing up near the ocean, here in the San Francisco Bay area.
shelley Adams purchased this House in 2006
Why shelley Adams chose Mill Valley
Marin is heaven for outdoor lovers, who wish to be near the city, but not in it. Only 15 minutes from San Francisco, Mill Valley is one of Marin's quaintest towns, built around the redwoods. The downtown area is centered around the Book Depot plaza which is bustling with activities such as chess games, live music, and an outdoor cafe.
What makes this House unique
Mill Valley is home to the nation's most important and earliest running event, The Dipsea Race. It also offers trail riding, biking paths, backpacking, fishing, and whale watching off the coast on a clear day and at the right season. Swimmers love Marin's beaches while kayakers explore San Francisco and Tomales Bay.

Acceptable, but not quite as expected.
I enjoyed my stay but was disappointed with a few things that I expected. The photos of the property are dated and don’t show how old the porch furniture is or how over grown the trees are which take away the view I expected to see. The kitchen appliances are functional but need to be updated. No carpet in the master bedroom so cold wooden floors only. It’s a cute house and served it’s purpose. If it were mine and I was charging what the owner was, I would buff it out and especially clean up the overgrown landscaping. I will say that the owner/manager was very nice and willing to accommodate me when I had any questions.
Gail neglected to tell me that she had broken a large 9 foot outdoor umbrella, which I did not discover until she had gone. Clearly, the umbrella had been left open in a windy day, and fallen over and broken. These things happen, but it would have been nice if she had disclosed it to me, particularly something of this magnitude. I can't imagine being a guest at someone's house and breaking something like that and just leaving, which is what happened. Very disappointing.
Excellent property in Mill Valley
Well, I just can't say enough good things about my stay at Shelly's place in Mill Valley. First off the location is super excellent. Close to highway 1, Whole Foods, downtown MV and SF too. The place itself is very, very clean and super well stocked. I was there for 34 nights and never needed a thing as I had excess Towels, paper towels, cooking supplies, sheets, garbage bags etc. And you couldn't ask for a better host Shelly is the best. She really went out of her way to make me feel like MV was my home and make me feel like a local. We are now friends and I so lucky to have had a great host who now is an awesome friend. You don't run into many people that are so sincere and honest!
Joe was a great guest. He was very conscientious and left the house in great condition. He even went beyond the call of duty by replacing lightbulbs, that were too high for me to reach. You couldn't meet a nicer person. The 80 year old neighbor told me he offered to help her if she needed anything while he was there. People like Joe are a gift. It was a pleasure having him stay at the house, and a bonus becoming friends.
Perfect place for families, groups traveling on business, large groups
This quintessential Mill Valley home is ideal for groups traveling on business and families. It's conveniently located close to the city, Muir Woods, Golden Gate Bridge, as well as many other attractions. The home owner is super attentive and did a beautiful job on the decor, making the home cozy and comfortable. I would highly recommend this home to anyone traveling to San Francisco.
I have a sister who lives just outside of SF and we stayed here for a week with my family who came up from LA. The house was beautiful and the area it’s in is fantastic! Love the park close by and the Wholefoods within walking distance. Shelley was great in keeping us informed of how to check in, etc. I would highly recommend this place!
stay in mill valley
Very nice house in a lovely area.
We loved our stay. Everything works very good. The only thing it was the spiral stair to get downstairs. It' was very tiny!
Wonderful house and location for week of biking
Great decks and indoor and outdoor spaces for a group of 6-8 who came from all over the country for a week of road biking in the Marin hills. The garage space was a treat for assembling and dissembling bikes for travel and many bike routes head out from the immediate vicinity of the house ( the steep hill to the house was a daily challenge but also has a sidewalk so walkable). Well provisioned.
