This cozy little cabin is centrally located near downtown Crestline. The cabin sits on three huge lots with plenty of space to play and run around on. It definitely comes in handy during the snow season. There is also a seasonal stream that runs along side the cabin, where you can pick Blackberries during the late summer and early fall months. This cabin is walking distance to shops and restaurants and is a 5 minute drive to Lake Gregory.

Rustic Cabin with no A/C
The cabin was rustic and quaint. It is probably best to stay in the cabin during the fall or winter seasons because there was no A/C and only one small fan. We stayed in the cabin for the first weekend in July, and the cabin got quite warm in the evenings. The location is excellent because it is within walking distance of all of the major points of interest in Crestline.
We had a wonder time at the McKay Cabin. The fireplace was outstanding. Very cozy cabin.
Cozy and relaxing
We enjoyed our stay and we were very close to the lake!
Save your money! Rent another cabin!
I gave this cabin a “1” because the staff was nice and it was easy to check in and out. Otherwise the previous guests were correct. The cabin is filthy. Floor was gross, kitchen stove was dirty, and I didn’t even wanna touch the bathroom. The beds were comfy but I didn’t really check them. I actually considered paying a ridiculous amount of money to stay at the local resort because this place was so dirty. The heater didn’t work the first night, the fridge struggled to work and made loud noises, and the shower/toilet/bathroom was tiny. The surrounding neighbors don’t care and have littered the area. The neighbors dogs bark ALL the time and one night a neighbor yelled for help and I almost called the police. Overall, I would not rent this cabin again. I will be saving my money to go to a cleaner, safer, and bigger bathroomed cabin.
Yes, this cabin is small, and one of the least expensive that we have, it is very rural and that is what most people like about it.
if however you are not happy with the cabin you have chosen, our company policy is that we will relocate you to another one that we have if we have another one available and you notify us of anything that is wrong within the first two hours of your stay.
If however we do not have another cabin that we can transfer you to we will refund your nightly rate so that you can find another place to stay- if you inform us of any of this within the first two hours of your stay.

Filthy and hazardous to low profile vehicles
Good luck finding this place if you use the address provided by property mgr. It was only 7000 numbers off. Lol. Do not pull in the driveway with a sedan or low profile car. If you approach slowly and at a parallel angle, you may not damage your under carriage. We also had trouble backing out over the piles of slick Leaves in the driveway and i fell twice. We would have raked the leaves had there been a rake. The cabin was filthy, we had to clean counters and sinks before we dared prepare any food. The floors were so dirty our socks turned black. This was all reported to the Manager listed in my email who responded promptly that she doesn't work there any more. And what is up with this town? Power outages all day on Thanksgiving and loose dogs running in packs across the property. Trash strewn all around the property from the cabin up the hill. This is a scary place at night.....the hills have eyes!!!
People forget when they come to the mountains it is a rural area, most live in the city and are use to the way houses are located on a normal lot with driveways, garages, street lights etc. in the mountains however, some of the cabins have dirt driveways, some do not - this particular cabin is very rural, it is kept that way for the nostalgia of the mountains.
Please be careful when you are looking for a mountain cabin that you want a mountain cabin, or if you want suburbia in a cabin that you make the inquiries for that so you can get the type of cabin you are looking for. If we do not have what you are looking for we will let you know before you book with us and will try to point you in the right direction.

Cozy little cabin
I would recommend this cabin for anyone looking to get away. It's within walking distance to any place you want to go in town and it's peaceful. It was pretty warm when we first got there, but after opening the windows it cooled down quickly. Great place overall!
The McKay Cabin is centrally located in Crestline, CA. There is a 5 min walk into town which is perfect for getting front row seats to the annual 4th of July Parade. The lake is a short 5 min drive, where you also find Goodwin's Market, our local grocery store.
