Fabulous Place and Hosts
The place and location was great. Much larger space than the pictures show. The owners included many extras that we really appreciated.
Great place to stay
The apartment was clean and spacious. The location was great for all of the places we wanted to visit in buffalo and Steve and his wife were really helpful.
Home away from home
We stay here frequently. We always feel at home at Steve’s Place in Lackawanna. The hosts definitely go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable.
Frozen Four trip
Steve met us when we arrived and was very pleasant. The flat was very clean and had more space than the pictures gave credit to. The beds were all very comfortable. I highly recommend staying here and if we get back to the area we will use it if available.
Excellent home-great location/Runners and Athletes will love it
I was in town for a quick family visit and trip to the southern tier. Unfortunately i selected a weekend with extremely challenging weather (10-15 inches of snow, bitter cold temps) so I was very happy I selected this rental on Ridge Road.
I rented the 2nd floor flat but when I arrived, there were some issues with the cable TV so the owners suggested i move downstairs to a 2BR unit (I was one person, so it was more than fine) while he worked on it. As it turns out, I was so comfortable downstairs I never bothered going back to the 4BR. But I can say that the 2nd floor flat is huge with a nice kitchen and living room and was extremely comfortable for the 30-60 minutes I was up there. I'd definitely recommend it if you were doing a family rental because it sleeps 7 and has a BR with bunk beds. But for a 1-2 person experience the downstairs unit is perfect.
The owners are very friendly and kind people. They provide a loaf of Banana bread (delicious) along with a nicely stocked fridge with water's, juices, etc.. along with cereals and other foods. I never bothered going to a grocery store as there was more than enough to eat for breakfasts and evening snacks (otherwise I was joining friends and family for lunch and dinner).
As I mentioned, the weekend i was there was when Winter Storm Harper hit, and on three of my four days it snowed anywhere from 1" to over a foot. Each morning the owner went out and brushed off my rental car. That was really appreciated. They have a parking lot across the street and despite the snow I had no issues getting in and out. Despite the weather I was still able to get around, and the convenient location to I90 and 219 was a plus.
The home is very quiet. The owners ask that we keep our shoes off, which makes total sense given the original hardwood floors and units below and above. Each unit has its own heat controls and I was never cold at all (it was well below -0- wind chill my last two evenings). The beds are comfortable and I slept very well. The TV in my unit had probably 200 channels and also quite a few books if someone is so inclined to do some reading.
I am a runner, and despite the weather was able to run one day and found that just 2-3 minutes away was the Botanical Gardens which has a great running path about 1.4 miles around. Virtually no cars and it was plowed so my feet stayed dry. It was great. A YMCA was 12 minutes away and as a member was allowed to use it the other two days.
Thanks for your kind review Adam. And thanks for choosing us. We appreciate it. Steve and Pat.
Steve thought of everything!
We rented this location for a few days before my son's wedding. The location worked out perfectly for us with people arriving at different times and it was very close to the venue.
Steve had the home set up with everything we could need as well as extra touches like homemade banana bread which my family loved!
He also made himself available to us and assisted quickly when we failed to coordinate the transfer of the key when running errands.
We are located just minutes south of downtown Buffalo and only 35 minutes from Niagara Falls, NY and Ontario. There are many opportunities for sight seeing and things to do, year-round.
