And best yet everyone can enjoy the touch screen-table top multi game for hours of fun and tons of games!!!
It is a long winding road up to the cabin - but wow what a view once you arrive!! The cabin was immaculately clean and had every amenity to make it a comfortable stay. Kitchen was well stocked. Nice big screen tv in the living room and in the Bear Den. We had two couples and two teenagers. The boys LOVED it up in the bear den. Two futons that folded down to beds made it perfect for them at night! It's quite a walk (steep) down to the dock, but was perfect and the lake was just gorgeous. The hot tub on the deck was wonderful! Plenty of seating outside to take in the view. Comfortable king size beds for the adults... and both bedrooms had private baths which was perfect! Nice new washer and dryer for laundry. The community pool was very close - nice and clean!!! We had a wonderful stay and would return again in a heartbeat. The owners Jim & Rochelle were great during our stay and were quick to answer the couple of questions we had while we were there.
** TIP: Gator Point Marina down the road is great for renting a pontoon boat to spend a day on the lake. They aren't far and we paid about $200 for 10 hours on the lake. It was just perfect!!!
House was as described. Comfy beds, homey, and comfortable. Beautiful views of the lake. It is a trek down to the water, not recommended for older folks. Lake levels were low but the dock was still usable. Was able to launch and load my boat without difficulty. Hot tub was great. Our teenage daughter loves the bearcave and spent the entire week up there. We love the area and it was a great combination of lake activities, GSM park, and Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge. About 25 - 30 minutes from those areas. Thanks for a great vacation!
Jim and Rachelle - This was our second trip to your cabin and once again our family had a fantastic time. We spent majority of our time on the deck enjoying the lake and the grandsons swimming and fishing off the dock. It's a great place to stay, all the comforts of home. The kitchen redo and new floor were a surprise and make the cabin even more inviting. We had a great trip and hope to return again next summer. Thanks again. Nancy M.
We all enjoyed the cabin had a great time on the lake boat dock was on the property good fishing had a great week
We had a wonderful and relaxing time the cabin and enjoyed some beautiful morning and evening views from the wrap around porch. We encountered a problem when we accidently locked ourselves out upon our arrival, but a quick called to Rachelle had the problem solved immediately. Sadly the lake management officials had lowered the water level which left the dock out of the water, so we were unable to fish as much as we had hoped. They apparently do this annually without notifying homeowners when this will occur. All and all we had a lovely time and would highly recommend "Smoke on the Water" to any potential vacationers.
Our family had a great stay here. The cabin has a blind driveway and is a bit unnerving getting in and out of. We passed it on the first sweep, but saw it once we turned around and came back towards it. We stayed late September just 2 weeks after they began draining Douglas Lake. It drains fast and the dock was already beached. Although we didn't come for lake play, it was still warm enough for swimming and our kids 6 & 8 had the thrill of swimming across the lake!! My husband and I spent most of our cabin time on the back porch with a birds eye view of the kids exploration activities. The porch had plenty of chairs for everyone. It was very quiet and serene. We had a neighbors nearby, but we hardly noticed them with the trees buffering out sound. The beds in the master bedrooms were extremely comfortable, best sleep we've had in a while. Our kids absolutely loved the upper loft. Everything was nice and clean; the owners were super helpful with all our concerns.
Really close by is the Forbidden Caverns. On the way there you'll pass a place to your right called the English Mountain Trout Farm. I highly recommend making it a stop, especially if you have small kids. They can guarantee your kid will catch a trout. From there you have many options; you can take it home whole, have them dress it for you and/or cook it up. That's not even all the options! It's a great time!!
Our cabin is located approx. 5 miles away from the famous Forbidden Caverns cave adventure!
