About The Owner

My husband and I both grew up in Western North Carolina. We love these mountains we call home.

.

We are avid outdoor enthusiasts!!

Most of the time we are either traveling up and down the Blue Ridge Parkway or on one of the winding country roads on our road bikes or hitting the thousands of acres of trails on our mountain bikes.

We also enjoy taking in one of our other favorite activities...fishing. Whether we are wading in with our fly rods on one of our many pristine mountain streams or floating down one of the many awesome rivers we are never disappointed.

On our farm we have a small herd of Scottish Highland Cattle as well as a few horses and of course our dogs. We love our area and our farm so much that we felt like we should share it with others who would like to experience a taste of what we live with and are blessed with everyday!!

What makes this barn unique

When staying on our farm you will enjoy a unique relaxing setting where you will feel far away even though you are only minutes away from activities, exceptional dining and of course all the mountains have to offer.

Lovely Stay

  • 4 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was a beautiful place and the children had a blast! Make sure that everyone in your group is okay with sharing a large, open space. I would have given it five stars. However, it did need cleaning. It is clearly pet-friendly and has not had a deep cleaning in a while.

Would Have Liked to Give a 5, But.....

  • 4 of 5

The setting is beautiful, (loved seeing all the horses and cows first thing in the morning) and the home design is lovely with lots of potential. However, as previously noted, the pictures are deceiving in that both bedrooms are upstairs in the large main living area and only ONE bedroom has a door. Further, the "enclosed" bedroom has open walls at the top, so lights and sounds are not private. The second bedroom, really a kids room, is wide open to the main living area. Also, the bathroom is downstairs on the lower level off of the kitchen. There is a very steep wooden stairway and going to the bathroom at night would worry me, had we had younger children with us. All the above is merely personal preference.

What is a more universal concern is that the home needed more recent and thorough cleaning. There were many dead bugs in all the window sills, lots of large spiders in the sinks & shower (arachnophobes: be forewarned!), crumbs in the kitchen cabinets, sand and dirt on the entry runner, torn paper window shades in the upstairs pool table area and the bedsheets were not clean :-(

Owners home is 20 feet away from the barn. We were greeted, seemingly accidentally, by a very nice gentleman (one of the owners?) who was just returning home as we had first gotten to the house for an early evening check-in. Very nice guy, said to ask if we needed anything. Unfortunately, we did not see anyone the rest of our stay, so did not get to voice our concerns. Check out procedures were clearly posted on the fridge, which was helpful.

Great place! Kids loved it!

  • 5 of 5

Spent a few nights with my wife and 3 daughters (5-13) looking for a quick easy escape from Atlanta. We all absolutely loved everything about the renovated/ refurbished barn. Our only disappointment was that we didn't have more time to spend there! Highly recommend, great place, close to all Asheville/ Hendersonville area attractions, restaurants, activities.

Our family loved staying in this renovated barn. The farm atmosphere around it with the horses, bulls, etc. was thoroughly enjoyed. Lisa made the stay easy and stress-free. Would definitely recommend!

What a unique rental property. Living in a converted barn on a real live farm, a great experience.

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for a get away from the hustle and bustle of South Florida, and we found it. The property had everything and was absolutely spotless. We wanted for nothing. As remote as you feel you are only minutes away from downtown Hendersonville and all the great little restaurants and shops.

Lisa and her sons were very helpful in directing us to some the restaurants that are the locals favorites. A great experience and we will certainly be back.
