About the property

Estate, 7 Bedrooms, 7.5 Baths, (Sleeps 11-12)

A spacious, completely renovated, Sea Captain's home in the charming Village of Southport, on the Coast of Long Island Sound.

Steps from the Harbor, the village shops, and the train station to New York City (with connections to Amtrak service North to Boston or South to ... wherever you want).

Beaches, boating, kayaking, fishing, all near by.

Restaurants abound within easy reach. You can even walk to fine dining, or great pizza. The Village center is so timeless with it's quaint shops and unchanged atmosphere that Hollywood comes here to film classic movies!

Experience live summer theater at the Westport Playhouse, in the adjoining town.

Walk to the station and zip into New York City on Metro North Railroad.

About Dale McIvor

I'm the near full-time caretaker of this wonderful property. I'll be near by if you need anything.

Dale McIvor purchased this estate in 1986

Why Dale McIvor chose Connecticut

Love at first sight. I walked up to the door and offered the owner, who was selling it, to buy it at full list price. Without even seeing the inside.

One of the best things I every did. Not sure what came over me.

What makes this estate unique

Great location in this amazing village. Walk to everything (OK, drive if you want to). Or bicycle. Boating, beaching, bar-hopping, great restaurants, and a train to NYC a block or two away. Can't be beat for a cultivated vacation!
