Beautiful home near the tide pools. Great location.

  • 5 of 5

This home came with everything you need for a wonderful vacation in Hawaii. Lovely neighborhood with friendly residents close to the volcano and the beautiful ocean. Walk or bike to tide pools for great snorkeling. 2 kitchens are ideal for large family groups. Very quiet and peaceful setting.

Great place!

  • 5 of 5

This huge house was more than adequate for our family of 8. Although there are only 6 beds, one of our kids slept in the hammock each night. There were also 2 pads and 3 couches. No dishwasher, which I didn't mind. Various items left in the fridge/ cupboards. Check before u grocery shop. An island and a dining room table provided plenty of room. There was lots of room to move around. The kids enjoyed the games.

Lots of water shoes, towels and a few OK snorkels. 6-7 bikes there. The snorkeling place nearby (10 min walk- we should have ridden bikes!) was one of our favorites! Especially for our beginner children, but even for ourselves. Don't pass up on that snorkeling! No driving option.

The house is very nice, with a definite island flare. Washing machine and dryer are outside. 2 bathrooms. The downstairs one is huge! The upstairs is divided into its own little apartment, with a bathroom, bed, large sitting area and kitchenette.

The outside was The best part of the house. 2 tables provided plenty of room for all our meals. The breeze was perfect- even when it rained. We didn't use the grass in back too much, but it was large. Nice neighborhood filled with personality.

I am so glad I chose this beauty to stay in on the Island.

This home was very roomy and close to the tidepools, which the kids (ages 9 & 10 ) fell in love with. Every one we met was so nice and friendly. The sights were awesome and I fell in love with the fire dancer at the luau. Will be back and will stay at this location. Thank You Jack.

Great weekend getaway

  • 3 of 5

This is a large spacious house with a nice kitchen, all the gadgets you could need, a great dining space, two comfortable living areas and plenty of bedrooms. The porch and lanai provided even more living space, and the bikes were a great surprise, although one of them didn't work. We loved walking to the tide pools and riding bikes around the neighborhood. The nearby town of Pahoa is super cute and has several restaurants. And the drive to Kalapana to see the lava was beautiful. Both of the showers are huge, and our daughters loved the downstairs one with the rain shower head and body sprays. There were also plenty of towels

The weekend we were there, however, it was very humid with no tradewinds. The house was so uncomfortably hot when we arrived. The one downstairs AC unit just couldn't cool the house down fast enough. The first floor bedrooms have no AC units, and two of the rooms face west. Our one daughter literally slept on the couch the first night. Her room just didn't cool off, even with the fans. There are no blinds or curtains on any of the windows... just sheers, so there is no protection from the sun and heat. Fortunately for the temperature of the house, it rained the rest of the weekend so we got a break from the sun and were able to keep the house cool. I can't imagine how hot the house must be in the summer. Some blackout curtains/blinds would really help keep the house cool and rooms dark in the morning when you're trying to sleep.

Owner's Response: As for the curtains, There is curtain shears, but Also have TINTED WINDOWS ON ocean side of the house where sun rises. Of course if when you first come into a closed home when first arriving will certainly not been aired out until windows are opened or AC turned on. We are fortunate to have AC that a 36,000 BTU'S AC UNIT AT downstairs HOME & a 25,900 BTU'S UPSTAIRS. This is a plus to have Ac, I would strongly check there are almost NONE homes that even offer AC at all, especially with a 3,000 sq.ft. home.

A great stay!

  • 4 of 5

This house was so spacious and well equipped. It was evident that thought was put into little details that would make the stay that much nicer. The master suite was huge. It was a really easy walk to the tide pools which had beautiful coral and fish. We would love to come back again.
