About Chris & Rhonda

My husband and I were born and raised in Florida(my husband in DeLand). We spent 8 years lovingly restoring this1905 southern jewel. We enjoy the many activities and pedestrian lifestyle thriving downtown DeLand provides.

Chris & Rhonda purchased this house in 2001

Why Chris & Rhonda chose De Land

We have many family and friends who live in Florida. We lived in this home for many years and retained it as our vacation home upon moving for a career opportunity. It is wonderful that we can still enjoy our DeLand roots, home and share it with others.

What makes this house unique

People ask what is my favorite room and I always say, 'the wrap around porch' : ) Sunset is my favorite time to have a beverage on the porch as the ocean breeze rolls inland and the moss changes different colors from the sun--- A nice beginning to the evening before walking downtown for dinner & entertainment. My children would argue it is the media room/guest suite(loft) on the 3rd floor.

Charming vintage home in a great location.

  • 5 of 5

This spacious home is an easy three block walk from the shops and restaurants of downtown Deland. The house has all the architectural interests of a 1905 building even though it is fully modernized. Everything was clean and neat.

Beautiful and Charming Home!

  • 5 of 5

We were in DeLand for work and were lucky enough to find this amazing home on short notice! When we arrived we were so pleased with the layout of the home. Everyone had their own bathroom and space to hang out in. We were pleasantly surprised by the character and size of this home! Rhonda, the owner was absolutely wonderful to work with as we had to stay an extra day. We would definitely stay here again if we ever come back to the area! Go ahead and book this place, its absolutely wonderful!

Fabulous Wedding Weekend

  • 5 of 5

We were in town for my cousins wedding and this house became the place where everyone gathered in between wedding activities. It was absolutely perfect! The home is beautiful and there was plenty of space for everyone staying there and everyone who came to visit! We will definitely consider coming back to Deland just to stay at the house! Thank you so much for making our wedding weekend that much more special!

Also, it is in perfect walking to distance to SO MUCH FUN! Shops, bars, restaurants! Perfect location!

Beautiful, Charming home

  • 5 of 5

The house is a quaint, charming old house. Very nicely renovated. Very convenient to downtown. Beds were comfy. The loft area is very unique and could be considered a master bedroom with its own bathroom.

We will definitely be back.

Charming home and town

  • 5 of 5

A very charming, clean home within walking district of a neat town. Great house to have family over to visit, lots of space. Great front porch to sit and catch up. Cute pond with waterfall in the back yard.

The house would also be a great house for large families to come stay, visit relax or explore. Lots of places for each member of the family, three floors with large rooms.

We rented the house on short notice do to emergency illness of family member. The Owners are very sweet and responsive. They were very helpful and accomodaton. She answered many of my questions, and responded quickly.

We walked to town, just a few blocks several times for lunch or snack. Chocolate shop had amazing treats, I highly recommend s'mores! Nice neighborhood, felt very safe and comfortable walking around.

We will definately have this on the list for any future visit to the east coast of fla! Within easy driving distance to Daytona, Orlando. Lots of restaurants, both local and chain close by.

Plenty of room

  • 5 of 5

We were in town for our daughter's wedding and needed a large space to accommodate a lot of people coming and going. The house worked great for our needs! Plenty of room. Never ran out of hot water. Heat (yep, we hit a cold spell!) and AC worked well to keep us comfortable. The only piece of advice I would give to anyone considering renting - don't plan on cooking for your large group. The kitchen is not set up well. Very limited pots and pans and not of good quality. Outdoor grill was desperately in need of cleaning. But - it just gave us an excuse to eat out! I still give it 5 stars despite the kitchen because everything else worked out so well for us and we would happily stay again.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your favorable review. So pleased you had a nice visit. Sorry the kitchen did not accommodate your group fully. It is a challenge to keep quality utensils and supplies in the kitchen. There should be a full set of pans and a few baking sheets/dishes. Perhaps they were difficult to find or have mysteriously disappeared. I believe sometimes items get mixed in with past renters personal supplies and it is not very easy to track all the many items needed in a kitchen. The grill cleaning supplies should be located within the grill cabinet -- I will remind the staff to check it. Thank you for not holding that against us. Your understanding is very kind. I will address this concern on my next visit. Thank you again, Rhonda
