Soak up the best the Northwest has to offer! This amazing 4-bedroom lakefront home on Lake Cavanaugh is the ultimate retreat for family and friends - and only 90 minutes north of Seattle with no ferry.
( PLEASE NOTE: AS OF APRIL 19, 2018, WE STILL HAVE AVAILABILITY AT REDUCED RATES FOR 3 DAYS OR MORE IN JUNE 2018 UNTIL JUNE 28TH DURING THE LONGEST SUMMER DAYS OF THE YEAR. PRIME AUGUST DATES FROM FRIDAY TO FRIDAY, AUGUST 17-31 ARE ALSO OPEN FOR 5-7 DAY RENTALS DUE TO A CHANGE IN OUR FAMILY'S PLANS.)
Nestled among old-growth Douglas firs and Cedar trees and on 90+ feet of waterfront, this spectacular custom home was completed in 2011. Enjoy the amazing views of Lake Cavanaugh (the quintessential NW mountain lake) and beautiful Frailey Mountain from the wraparound covered deck. Fir-trimmed windows connect you to the outdoors from every room, making it the perfect year-round getaway.
The house has 4 bedrooms (3 cal king beds + 1 queen) & 4 full bathrooms, as well as a massive bunk room. Our Lakehouse sleeps 8 adults & 8 children very comfortably. An open chef's kitchen was designed with cooking and entertaining in mind - you'll love the huge island with plenty of seating, stainless appliances, wine refrigerator and espresso machine. There are plenty of window benches & cozy couches to curl up and read, nap, play a game or just relax & enjoy the view. The wood fireplace provides warmth and ambiance. The bathrooms are gorgeous and feature heated floors & beautiful tiled showers. You won't miss the big game with 2 flat screen TVs (DirecTv), DVD player and WiFi. We also feature double washer/dryer, and provide all linens and towels (including beach towels). The separately rented guest cabin with 1/2 bath sleeps 2.
Outside, there are never-ending possibilities for fun. Shoot hoops on the sport court, challenge the kids to a game of pickle ball, or take a peaceful canoe ride out on the lake. Bike rides are another great way to get some exercise and see the rest of beautiful Lake Cavanaugh. The beach is the perfect place to spend summer days, playing with the kids and swimming. Our western exposure means sun from 9AM to 9PM. Bring your boat and spend the day water-skiing or tubing. Or, kick back with a good read and a glass of wine on the floating dock or in the hammock - the sunsets are spectacular!
During fall and winter, cozy up in front of the fire with a board game or good book after a bike ride or hike around the Lake. We're 1000 feet above sea level so if it's 37 degrees in Seattle or Vancouver and raining, it's snowing at the Lake.
Your family & friends will leave Lake Cavanaugh wanting to return! We know you will enjoy this piece of paradise as much as our family does.

We are a large extended family from Seattle and have been coming to Lake Cavanaugh since 1992. In 2011, we came together to build this exceptional family retreat.
Chris Kane purchased this lodge in 1992
Our family bought a rustic cabin at Lake Cavanaugh in 1992, and lovingly transformed it into a special vacation spot. Over the years the family grew to include daughters-in-law and lots of grandkids, and we literally outgrew the original 800 sqare foot 2-room cabin.
In 2010 we embarked on a family project to design & build a multigenerational house that our family could enjoy for many years to come.
We love to take walks and bike rides around the lake, and enjoy cooking family dinners in the large open kichen and eating on the deck. At Lake Cavanaugh you feel far away from the business of life - yet it's only 90 minutes drive from Seattle and Vancouver!
We had a lovely second visit to the Kane's late this summer. The property is amazing and the 24 of us, 12 adults and 12 kids, found things to explore and do even over a rainy Saturday. When the sun finally came out, the beach was paradise. We cooked some awesome dinners, played ping-pong, trampolined, swam and boated and, of course, played Pickle ball. All was great and the Kane's are perfect hosts. Would go again.
This was our family's second time to stay in the home...and it was even better than the first. Having family nearby, we had a full house for our entire 6 night stay. The owners have done a great job continuing to update the amenities and provide more activities for the children and adults...no one was bored during our stay. This year we rented a ski boat and were able to dock it at the house, which provided even more fun for the kids.
There are lots of great little towns to visit within driving distance...however, this retreat has all you need to keep busy for an enjoyable getaway. There are several separate sitting/living areas, which make this place ideal for large gatherings such as ours. The kids (and adults :) ) never had an end of choices for activities...playing in the sand, swimming, playing in the forest, ping pong, basketball, pickle ball, and so much more!
We cannot wait to start planning our next trip!
I almost don't want to write this review because I want to keep this gem to myself!
Our friends and family enjoyed 5 nights at the end of June at this beautiful spot. We had absolutely perfect weather and the lake was gorgeous as ever!
You can truly tell this family has put so much thought and love into their home. Every comfort and want has been methodically handled- from plenty of chairs on the deck so everyone can enjoy dinner together outside, kitchen items neatly labeled, to the same bedding in every main room so no one has to fight for the nice room- they're all nice! We over packed by a long shot, this family has it all covered. So come relax and enjoy, it's perfectly setup!
There is something for everyone on this property. We made excellent use of the sport court playing hoops and pickle ball for hours, kids and adults alike. There is comfortable outdoor furniture to enjoy your morning coffee on. A cozy media room where the kids can go when they need a break from the sun. And of course the awesome sandy waterfront where we spent the majority of our stay. I could go on and on!
The owners Chris and Kathy were also so pleasant and easy to work with. Communication was a breeze as well as quick response time. We can't say enough how much we appreciate being able to stay and feel so comfortable in their amazing home! We hope to make this a yearly tradition with friends and family. Looking forward to next years fun already!
Thank you again!

We have used this home twice for an executive retreat and it has proven to be exactly the kind of place you need to disconnected and unplug from the office while getting some REAL work done! We had 10 Adults stay the night comfortably and all were comfortable and refreshed throughout. The kitchen, dining, and living room are all connected and make for an incredibly inviting and relaxed environment. It has a modern TV system too and we were able to connect a wireless display adapter no problem, making it the perfect place to put our feet up while still working through a powerpoint deck. The kitchen is just a perfect place to get together while cooking big meals and there are plenty of places to get away from each other and just relax a bit too. This place really has all you could ever hope for a small company retreat and an even better place for up to three families of four to get away from the city and get some relaxing in. We have used it during the winter and we weren't able to use the pickle-ball/basketball court (yes, RIGHT outside the kitchen porch) or the lake, but we look forward to going back in the summer to enjoy the outdoors. Believe all the reviews, this place is EPIC.
Beautifully designed and well equipped home with fabulous lakefront! Lots of room here for our family of 19, with four couples and 11 kids, ages 1-16. Great kitchen, large TV room, greatroom, wrap around deck, and 4 queen/king bedrooms. Ten of the grandkids shared the big bunk room and had a blast. Owners Chris and Kathy were great in sharing their place and making sure we had an excellent family time. We swam, skied and wake boarded, kayaked, paddled, played pickle ball and 'minute-to-win-it', did a scavenger hunt and jigsaw puzzles and ate lots. Some uncommon 'extras' available were the outdoor shower with hot/cold water, water toys, swim platform/trampoline, games, ride-on toys and sport court. It would be hard not to have a great holiday here.
Such a wonderful place and PERFECT for large groups! All kids want to sleep on the top bunk and I wish you could have seen the look on the four kids when they knew they could all sleep on the top bunk! Everything was absolutely perfect and the only wish I have is that the owners could control the weather!!!
