About Perry Brooks

We're an active family with two teens who love skiing, biking and fishing around Bend. We stay here every few weeks throughout the year. Our favorite fishing is on the Crooked River, and are constantly exploring the trails network. Each visit we are making sure the house is comfortable and well-maintained.

Great house & location for a family trip to Bend

  • 4 of 5

The "Bungalow" was just right for our group of four adults, one teenager, and a dog. We appreciated the easy 30 minute drive to the mountain for snowboarding each day. And the house is located in a nice neighborhood, walking distance to a nice market for groceries, cafés for mornings, and beer places for the evenings (our favorite was "The Lot," a kid-and-dog-friendly beer garden). The house was clean and comfortable, and had everything we needed.

Beautiful home, great location.

  • 4 of 5

This was a great place to stay! I would definitely recommend this place to people visiting in Bend. The location is great and walking distance to most things in Bend that we wanted to do. It's clean, well decorated and well appointed. Our group all agree we would stay here again!

Disappointed

  • 3 of 5

The house itself is nice and location is great. Walking distance to a lot. Our biggest disappointment after a long day of skiing, was that the hot tub was not hot. Upon calling Perry several times, an email, and a text the next morning he finally responded. He said he was contacting someone to come fix it. After a few hours I talked with him again, he said he had a call into someone, but had heard nothing. He then offered to give us passes to the Turkish Baths. I agreed thinking the hot tube would still get fixed. The passes were only good for one night and we were there 3 more. We chose this particular home for 3 reasons. #1 it had a hot tub, #2 it had a fireplace, #3 close to town. A potential safety issue was that the sidewalk to the hot tub was not shoveled and had become very icy and dangerous. Dishes were left in the dishwasher so I was having to clean before I even started my 5 night vacation. Like I said before, the house and location are great. Other amenities need more attention.

Owner's Response: Thank you for bringing this to our attention. As owners, we regularly stay at the Bungalow, and we also appreciate a relaxing soak in the hot tub after a great ski day. Perry works very hard to stay on top of issues - he had contacted us with this item, and we all thought the hot tub would be repaired the next day. Based on your feedback, we are buying a new hot tub this week and Perry is hiring a different company to do weekly hot tub cleaning and service. We are meeting with our cleaning crew to pass on this comment and ensure they are completing the entire cleaning checklist each time, including shoveling. We want the facilities to be in top shape at all times.

Cute and comfy with plenty of room for 6

  • 4 of 5

Great location with a market 2 blocks away and breweries, restaurants, and downtown in walking distance. Comfortable bedrooms, nice kitchen, loved the fireplace in the living room and the hot tub in the back yard. The upstairs bathroom was a bit small, where the bedrooms are, but there is a big bathroom downstairs, hence the 4 stars instead of 5, but besides that, it's super! We will be back!

Owner's Response: Sure glad you enjoyed it! There's a great collection of street food vendors and beer 4 blocks south at the corner of NW Hartford and NW Columbia that's a nice walk, especially if you loop back through River Bend Park.

Owner's Response: We're glad you enjoyed it! If you're feeling ambitious, you can add a couple miles to your mountain biking and leave from the front door, head west on Galveston, that turns into Skyliners and you can bike along a dedicated trail all the way to Phil's trailhead. It makes for a really nice downhill cruise back to the house at the end of the day.
