Bonnet Shores stay
The property was nice the house had the basics you're finding your own home. All the beds in the house were very uncomfortable hard as a rock. There were no curtains on the front windows in the living room when the sun comes up there are no blackout curtains as bright as day. The neighborhood is quiet. The private beach is nice but there is nowhere to park in no bus to take you there it's approximately a mile and a half from the house. The property manager is a realtor will only answer by text not in person if you call and try to contact them.
So surprised to hear about the beds. We’ve had so many people tell us how comfortable they are but of course bed firmness is a person preference.
We have a total of five gorgeous beaches in town to chose from. The four other town beaches all have ample parking!
The suggestion on curtains in the front room is a good one.
Texting versus phone is of course a person preference, we always try to accommodate our guests.
Great time, plenty of space
We had a great time on Gardenia Lane. The house was spacious for 2 adults with 6 kids. There are 5 separate rooms for sleep. The basement was ideal for 3 adolescents. Big space with an attached bathroom. AC was a huge plus. The kitchen area was really nice and big. Sheets and towels were provided and there was plenty of those. There were 2 decks. A common one and one attached to the master bedroom.
Drawbacks were that there was one TV (the teenagers wanted their video games and there is one TV in the common family room). The other was that it's about a mile away from Kelly beach (about a 25 minutes walk). You need to drop off the family in the car because there is no parking for the beach, drive back and then either walk or uber to the beach. It's doable but a bit of an inconvenience. There is a shuttle but on the weekends only.
All in all, a great house and very responsive owner/agent. Thanks Karen. * * * * *
Thanks so much for your nice review. Glad you enjoyed the home! We do our best to make it comfortable for the guests second tv is a great idea. And hope you had an opportunity to try out three other fabulous beaches in town which have plenty of parking. Kelley beach is beautiful but a private association beach so no parking unfortunately. Please join us again next year.
Great Get Away!
Wonderful. Had everything we needed. Very spacious and comfortable.
Everything went very smoothly. The house was very clean and comfortable. We had plenty of room for everyone. Could use a new toaster and frying pan and also a wet mop. Overall a great experience!
Glad you enjoyed the stay! We”ll get those recommended items, thanks for the suggestions. Visit us again.
Everything was perfect!
Nice house which permitted adults on the first floor and children in the basement with all the commodities. In extra, 3 bunnies in the backyard
Nice home with a few hiccups
There was plenty of room in the house for our group of 11 (4 adults and 7 young kids). The home is updated, clean and in a very quiet neighborhood.
Two of the bedrooms are in the basement though, and it smelled damp/musty downstairs. When we arrived the air conditioners and humidifier were turned off so the smell was very strong, throughout the house. Once we turned them on the smell wasn't as strong but still lingering. Also, there is only one air conditioner downstairs in the larger bedroom and you had to set the temp very low and keep the bedroom doors open to try to cool off the other bedroom. The same upstairs, there is a unit in the living room and the master bedroom which we would have to set very low and keep all the doors open to try to keep the whole house cool, which resulted in the rooms with the units being extremely cold. Not a huge deal but probably not the most efficient way to keep a house cool and a little frustrating if you were sleeping in the room with the units.
In addition, the toilet seat cover was not attached to the toilet in the downstairs bathroom, which made it difficult to use and therefore it was not used. Furthermore, that bathroom was extremely tiny and not very nice overall.
Also, though a blow dryer is listed under amenities included, there wasn't one at the house so it was a little annoying to have to go out and buy one when I could've brought one from home if I had known. Not a big deal but wanted to save someone the trouble of having to go buy one if they needed it. When I messaged the realtor about it, I didn't receive a response. To be fair, this was the only time I didn't receive a response from her, she was very responsive with everything else.
Lastly, the neighborhood beach is not easily accessible if you have young children because there isn't parking at the beach, so you would have to drive there, drop everyone off and then someone would have to return the car back to the house and walk down. This wasn't clear to us when we rented the home, which could be our own fault. So to avoid the hassle, we just drove to Roger Wheeler Beach every time we wanted to go to the beach. If you have older children this might not be as much of an issue.
Overall, the home fit our needs but definitely left room for improvement. I would actually give the home 3.5 stars but that was not an option so I gave it 4.
House has had central air installed since this review. Very dry comfortable and pleasant improvement
Bonnet Shores is a delightful enclave of homes clustered around the calm waters of Bonnet Shores. The area is private and quaint, yet close to all area amenities. Kelley Beach at Bonnet Shores is down the street. The Narragansett Town beach is one mile by bike or car. There are three state beaches in Narragansett.
