About the property

Our home is bright and airy, a true place to relax with family or friends. A lot of effort has been put into creating a comfortable Disney themed getaway. The house in on a cul-de-sac street with the club house at the end. (4 homes down). You can look out the front door and see the tennis and volley ball sand court. A lot of updating has been done and continues on every visit we do. We would love to share our home with those who will take as good care of it as we do.

About Miki or Grant

We are a family of 6. (Four active little boys) We love going to Disney and spending time in Florida. Often the house and community is so much fun we don't even bother doing the parks when down there on vacation. We bought this house to bring our family and friends together, and at other times, allow our new friends we meet through here to also bring their families the same joy it brings to us.

Miki or Grant purchased this villa in 2012

Why Miki or Grant chose Glenbrook Resort

This house and community are great for young and old, and everyone in between. There is something for everyone to do, (or not do if that is what you prefer).

What makes this villa unique

Our home has so many special little touches - all about Disney. Its like going to the parks and finding the hidden disney. Being so close to the club house is great for everyone in the family. Teens can just walk down by themselves and hang out. Every time we go we add something new. A lot of updating has been done and continues to be done. This year alone, new floors, new beds, new living room furniture, painting etc.

Guestbook comments from the manager

Great house. Loved the pool and backyard. Everything was there and we never had to leave. Walking distance to the restaurant (tex mex) that had specials each day. The community is quiet, and friendly. Conveniently located near the club house, which had a nice event on new years eve. Everything was very clean.

A clean, well maintained property

  • 4 of 5

I wanted to rate this property 4 1/2 stars but VRBO doesn't allow half-star ratings, so I had to go with 4.

We arrived to a clean property. It was a little tricky to get the lock box open to get the key, but we figured it out. It wasn't really hard, but after a long and stressful day of traveling, our brains weren't working 100%! Once you put in the code on the box, it's a little tricky to pull the door down to get the key out.

As I said, the property was well cleaned when we arrived and everything was as expected. The owners obviously take pride in this property as it was pretty well updated. They did tell us that they try to update something on each of their visits, and it shows.

The rooms were all decent sizes and the beds were comfortable. The furnishings were adequate and we didn't have any complaints.

The owners are responsive - I had a question about the pool (heat) and I E-mailed them. They responded within a few minutes with a courteous and accurate answer. That's when they told us they would be down following our visit to upgrade the floor in the master bedroom. In my dealings with these owners from initial rental throughout our stay, they answered E-mails promptly and in a friendly manner - so if any reviewers state they had trouble and couldn't get it fixed, I'd guess they didn't try too hard to contact the owners. It was a pleasure to do business with these owners and I would recommend them highly.

I only have two niggles about the house and these are why I wanted to take off 1/2 star (not one full star): The "front" bedroom did not have decent light blocking blinds or curtains, so the street light in front of the house shone in and made the room fairly bright. If lights bother you when sleeping, choose one of the other bedrooms. All the other rooms are decently dark (although if the neighbors happen to leave their back spot lights on, the master bedroom is a little bright from the light reflection). My other niggle is that the pool does not have a hand rail on the stairs, but from what we can see, it looks like many pools in Florida are like this. It made it a little hard to get in and out of the pool.

It took us about 25-30 minutes to drive to any of the Disney parks. We were there during Christmas vacation. Traffic was a nightmare, especially when you're not familiar with the area. I'm not counting this in the star rating, but just wanted to mention it. There's a reason why Disney says "leave the driving to us"!

Thank you!

The house itself was nice, poor upkeep on certain areas could be better.

  • 2 of 5

The house and location were really nice, but there were a few issues. Need better weekly maintenance on the pool. After two days at Universal, we were looking forward to using the pool but were unable to use it on the 20th or 21st. We woke up the morning of the 20th to find it looking as green as grass. Pool people came over and dosed it with ALOT of chemicals to fix it, and we were told not to get in it. Both neighbors pools looked great, so obviously weekly maintenance isn't performed properly on this pool. When we left on Saturday it was still green. Secondly, while the pool table is a good way to pass some time there is only one good stick, no cue chalk, and not all the balls are there. Thirdly, we found the carpet in one of the bedrooms soaked with water in an area near the bathroom entrance. Upon looking at it more closely, there was mold/water damage on the bathroom baseboard from a leaky tub that should have been detected long before it was if the house was over more carefully. Plumber was at the house for several hours working on that one day of our stay as well. Lastly when we arrived, it was 84 degrees in the house and took all evening to get it a reasonable sleeping temperature (after we went to Walmart and bought fans). Not exactly the best environment to come into after being on the road for 12 hours and wanting to cool down and relax.

Overall it's a nice house, in a nice area, that could be a lot better if it were taken care of better. We really enjoyed our stay, but not the inconveniences.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your feedback Reid. I wish I had been made aware of the issues while you had them as I would have rectified what I could. As you can see from my reviews I have not had many issues. It is a vacation home and sometimes things happen of course. The tub was fixed, unfortunately it was not noticed until the water actually leaked through to be visual. The pool pump unfortunately also had an issue (we are told from the storm) and it had a power surge and has been replaced. (It was an expensive week for us). As you can see from the home we are constantly updating. The ac would be at the level the last guest left it that day and cools quick. I am surprise you were buying fans as at 86 the house cools fast (the AC is brand new) and there are fans in each closet if needed AND ceiling fans in every room. We are well equipped when it comes to fans :) my family needs the noise to sleep lol. We are very responsive as are most owners, so if you ever stay elsewhere and have any issues please always reach out to the owners as we can apply pressure if something is not being cared for right away by a property manager etc. Again my apologies for any discomfort during your stay.

Really nice place for a family vacation

  • 5 of 5

Had a wonderful stay. Home was clean, spacious and had all the comforts of home. It easily accommodated 2 couples and our 4 children. Convenient to Disney Parks, Seaworld and only 40 minutes from Orlando Airport. So very easy to come and go. The pool was so refreshing and the washer and dryer were such a time saver. Thank you for opening your lovely home to us. Highly recommend!!
