The Troy, Montana area is a true recreational paradise. Hiking, cycling, swimming, fishing, hunting, canoeing, kayaking, power boating is Montana at it's best, something for everyone. Boat ramps are located just a few miles away at Bad Medicine Campground and Dorr Skeels Campground. If your interest tends toward fishing...Bass, Sunfish, Perch, Cutthroat Trout. and Kokanee Salmon are plentiful in Bull Lake. It's also home of the Dolly Vardon (Bull Trout) which can be as large as 20 lbs. If relaxation is what you're looking for ... bring your boat and cruise down the 4.5 miles of calm waters. In July and August the water temperature rises to between 70 and 75 degrees, so don't forget all of your water toys.
Easy hiking is great for kids and seniors at Ross Creek Cedar Groves which is only a 4 mile drive away. The 100 acres of western red cedars is considered one of the 'eight must- see attractions' in Lincoln County. These cedars grow up to 12 feet in diameter and 175 feet tall. Couldn't ask for more
We loved every minute here. A perfect escape from a busy life. Everything was comfortable and the area is breathtakingly beautiful. I wish we could stay forever. We were only here a few days but it felt like home.
A lovely place to stay
We had five really wonderful days to enjoy this cottage and the lake. The cabin was tiny, but clean and cozy and furnished with everything we needed. Being on the lake, we had many near neighbors, but because of the dense growth of trees and underbrush, it felt very private. Enjoyed our stay!
Relaxing to the max!
This is our third year at this destination; loved every minute of it; weather was great. Private and secluded, but great place to eat 2 minutes down the road at the Halfway Bar! Great pizza. We hope to keep coming here again and again!
Cozy cabin for a relaxing vacation
Our family truly enjoyed our stay at the the Bull Lake Hideaway. The cabin is cozy and comfortable and great base to enjoy all that the area offers. The hosts are very accommodating and available to answer all questions. Thank you Paul and Charlene!
If you like peace and quiet and your privacy. Then this cabin is for you. Prepare to unwind, relax and enjoy the beauty of the Mountains and the breath taking views of Bull Lake. Could not have asked for a better place to stay on our vacation.. Can't wait to do it again!
Cozy Cabin, great for getaways of any occasion
The cabin was in great shape, everything that was mentioned to be there, was indeed there. Used the gas grill on the porch to grill some great Montana beef steaks! Even though we weren't able to enjoy being out on the lake, the scenery alone is enough.
It had rained/sleeted/snowed so weren't able to use the outdoor fire pit anyway, however when I went out to see what shape it was in and determine if we were going to be able to use it or not, I discovered an entire fire pit full of dirty (now frozen) diapers. Some were half burnt, others were just thrown in there recently. Not sure if it was a previous guest that did this or what, but the stench made me want to stay out of the area during our stay. Like I said, no complaints given the situation, just a note for future guests.
Overall, i would highly recommend this rental to everyone for a good secluded getaway! Made my wife and I seriously consider buying property up there!
