Also adjacent the kitchen is a charming dining room furnished with a bistro height table set and featuring a beautiful original built-in buffet and fantastic trim work.

What's within walking distance? Pretty much everything! Celebrated restaurants such as La Rambla,Thistle, Nick's Italian Cafe, Bistro Maison and more are all just 2-5 minutes away......over 12 wineries are within 10 minutes walking distance or less. Additionally for you Linfield parents and IPNC guests the campus is just a 10 minute walk away. For our fitness minded guests, McMinnville Aquatic Center is only a short walk from the house and offers a great option for a recreation facility for adults or kids--swimming, spa and a weight room.

The unit is on a busy street with original historic wood windows so please know that you will hear traffic inside the unit. We do offer white machine devices in both bedrooms and find that most guests are not bothered by the noise.

About Shannon Thorson

I've lived in McMinnville since 1994. The restoration completed on this home is an example of the design and remodel work that I now enjoy doing as a full-time business.

I have one son who's 12 and enjoy painting, kayaking, hiking, and watching my son's sporting events!

Shannon Thorson purchased this bungalow in 2004

Why Shannon Thorson chose McMinnville

I restored this 1912 house in 2004 and love each and every inch of it.

It's a pleasure to preserve it and offer it to new friends.

What makes this bungalow unique

The house is so warm and cozy! I'm sure you'll enjoy going out for food and drink, but you can have an equally enjoyable time just hanging out with a great glass of wine.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Just wanted to say thank you, we had a wonderful time in McMinnville and the house was one of the big reasons why. Really cute and convenient. We actually spent a lot of time on the front porch just enjoying the sun and taking in the neighborhood. Hope we make it back again sometime.

Great home base for wine touring

  • 5 of 5

This beautiful, well-equipped little bungalow is a great home base for Willamette Valley touring. It is an easy walk to downtown shops, restaurants, and tasting rooms. As previous reviewers noted there is some road noise, but we got used to it and the traffic dies down at night. The beds are extremely comfortable and the large shower has good water pressure. There is ample off-street parking, too - a must in this neighborhood. This home is easy to book and the owner was very helpful. All in all, a great rental.

Nice home, convenient location

  • 5 of 5

The home was clean and nicely decorated. The welcome basket was a really nice touch. We used this house as a home base for our day tripping adventures and would come back in the evenings and stroll down Third St for dinner, drinks, and entertainment. Although the traffic didn't bother us I could see how the noise might concern a light sleeper but I guess they have white noise machines to offset. My only recommendation, and it's so small, is a shower caddy. We enjoyed our stay immensely.

Clean and charming

  • 4 of 5

We were very comfortable in this charming vintage home. Everything was so clean and comfortable, and the baskets of goodies was so welcoming. This is our 2nd or 3rd time to stay at this house and we have always been happy here. The additional little nook was a perfect addition for our friend who also stayed with us.

Vintage home with all of the amenities

  • 5 of 5

I stayed here while dropping my daughter off for college. It suited us perfectly. We easily walked to all of the restaurants from the house. It was a very hot weekend and the house stayed cool for us. The decor and amenities were more than expected. Overall, a great stay.
