Additionally for you Linfield parents and IPNC guests the campus is just a 10 minute walk away. For our fitness minded guests, McMinnville Aquatic Center is only a short walk from the house and offers a great option for a recreation facility for adults or kids--swimming, spa and a weight room.

About Shannon Thorson

I've lived in McMinnville since 1994. The restoration completed on this home is an example of the design and remodel work that I now enjoy doing as a full-time business.

I have one son who's 12 and enjoy painting, kayaking, hiking, and watching my son's sporting events!

Shannon Thorson purchased this bungalow in 2004

Why Shannon Thorson chose Willamette Valley

I restored this 1912 house in 2004 and love each and every inch of it.

It's a pleasure to preserve it and offer it to new friends.

What makes this bungalow unique

The house is so warm and cozy! I'm sure you'll enjoy going out for food and drink, but you can have an equally enjoyable time just hanging out with a great glass of wine.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Just wanted to say thank you, we had a wonderful time in McMinnville and the house was one of the big reasons why. Really cute and convenient. We actually spent a lot of time on the front porch just enjoying the sun and taking in the neighborhood. Hope we make it back again sometime.

Beautiful home within town

  • 3 of 5

We have passed this house for several years and were excited to have a chance to rent for the weekend in October 2016. It was restored beautiful and good location to main areas in town. We found the main bedroom bed should be replaced as it dips in the middle. We also wanted to note that there is someone in the converted basement area below. We were not aware of this and arrived in the pitch dark to the house at 11pm and this scared us. We never had concern with the person below but there are quiet hours requests for inside the house I am assuming because someone is below. Just needed to mention this so someone else does not arrive to this surprise unaware.

Owner's Response: Katherine, Thank you for taking the time to write such a thoughtful review. The description for this property clearly states there are two units in the building. The fellow in the basement unit is a single, middle-aged college professor who is very clean-cut and quiet. I assume you found this to be the case? In regards to your comments about replacing the bed, we've not received any negative feedback to date but will look into it right away. The mattress is high-end and we've always received wonderful comments about the bedding in general but perhaps its ready for replacement. These things do wear out. Best wishes. Thank you for your feedback.

Beautiful stay!

  • 5 of 5

We live in the area and we knew the home was on a busy street. The master bedroom is situated away from the street. We had no trouble catching a ride with, "The Sandman."

The home as well appointed with everything you need to have a relaxing and wonderful stay in McMinnville.

I highly recommend this beautiful well cared for home. Thanks so much!

cozy, clean and perfect

  • 4 of 5

I loved my stay in this home. Walking distance to downtown shops and cafes. The road is busy in front of the home but it did not interfere with sleep or visiting with the friends I invited over for lunch. The king bed was wonderful- I slept like a baby. Great place to stay and I liked the dinning room seating and seating in the living room. Just a great home. I'll be back.

Lovely historic home

  • 5 of 5

This home had everything we needed for a wonderful stay in McMinnville. Within an easy walk to shops, restaurants and wine tasting rooms. Well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds. There is noise from street traffic but the home owner provides "white noise" machines to help with this. Would stay here again.

Great place

  • 5 of 5

Hello, we had a great time during our two night stay. The place had everything we needed. A lovely craftsman house, high ceilings and lovely light. There was just the two of us so previously discussed issues re the jack and jill bathroom did not effect us and traffic noise, though present, did not bother us. Bed super comfy, towels soft and plentiful. Coffee and tea plus the snacks were a lovely addition. Very close to 3rd avenue. Shannon also gave us great recommendations for dining and wine tasting in Mcminnville and in surrounding communities. A note re dining...there is a great taco truck, which should not be missed, right near the Elizabeth Chamber winery if you are looking for a snack (or a meal) while wine tasting. Many thanks!
