We love going to the lake, fishing, swimming, skiing and having parties for our friends and family. We love traveling and we believe life is short, Live everyday like it is your last, Love with all your heart. We love entertaining, going to church and spending quality time with our family and friends.
Kim Burger purchased this House in 2005
Why Kim Burger chose Northlake
We purchased the property because of the location. The property is only 20 minutes from our house in Powdersville. We can jump in the car at the end of a hectic day and fish our troubles away. We are a very active family and the Tennis court was a major plus. We will get up early in the morning and play tennis. We have a huge family and needed a place where everyone had someting to do.
What makes this House unique
My favorite thing to do is sit out on the deck with a book and read. I love taking late night rides down the lake, very romantic. I love watching all a basketball game while cooking out. The house seems like you are miles and miles away, then jump in the car and you are in the center of town with endless things to do.

Felt like home away from home. The house was in great shape. View of the lake was perfect!
Had a small issue with the refrigerator, Kim had a repair man on the way as soon as i called. Resolved the problem very professionally. Absolutely recommend Kim’s estates to every one! Thanks for everything!
I enjoyed my stay
Thank you Van. I am glad you had fun!
Wonderful Lake House with all the toys!
Our family and friends had a great time at "Madison's Cove", a beautifully decorated lake house on Lake Hartwell, about 2.5 hours northeast of Atlanta. The home, which is well furnished with all the "normal" things, also has floats, lounge chairs and fishing poles, as well as tennis rackets and a basketball to use on the backyard courts. We donated some new tennis balls, a bait bucket and a couple of floats to the collection! There is plenty to enjoy, and the Walmart Super Store is only a short drive away, so groceries and forgotten items are easily reached. Remember to purchase fishing licenses on line and print before you come to avoid hassle of having to appear in person to make purchase in Dicks, or machine being down at Walmart.
The downstairs pool table in the den provided lots of fun, and the downstairs patio/grilling area was a popular hangout, although the large sliding glass door from the den to that patio wasn't functioning at the time of our stay, which detracted significantly from the functionality and our enjoyment of that area, since the patio guests and guests in the den playing pool couldn't interact with one another. Bummer! Hopefully that will be fixed soon, as that is the reason for the 4 rather than 5 star rating.
We rented the pontoon boat that is available and had a blast riding up and down the lake pulling the kids on a big raft that was provided. The boat's Bimini top made for a cool, comfortable ride, even on the bright sunny days that we were so fortunate to have.
The sleeping arrangements were very comfortable, with three bedrooms upstairs, and a comfy coach-for-one in the living room), a foldout coach downstairs in the poolroom/den, and a bedroom downstairs off the den (with it's own bathroom with shower). We slept eight very comfortably. Note that the upstairs main bathroom has only a tub, so showers upstairs must be taken in the master bedroom's bath. Having said that, however, bring bubble bath and enjoy a nice soak in the tub! The tub got plenty of use while we were there. Everyone, it seems, likes bubble baths (with candles) while on vacation at the lake!
One caveat, the path down to the lake, as with almost any house on Lake Hartwell, is very steep, so this house is not ideal for anyone physically or mobility challenged. I am proud to say, however, that my 80+ yr old parents managed it fairly well and we all got a great work out going up and down the nice concrete path from the house to the lake.
I am so happy you enjoyed your stay.
Perfect place for families!
We had a wonderful time sharing this property with another family. Our children enjoyed the many recreational features such as basketball, shuffleboard, billiards, and games! Having a basement for the kids was great! The dock and lake are beautiful, and the cove is very quiet with almost no boat traffic. The home was well suited for families and the owners were extremely responsive to any questions and concerns that arose. We would recommend and consider staying there again.
I am so glad that you and your family had a great stay. Hope to see you again soon
House is in a great location. The property is very clean and well kept. Really enjoyed the updates.
Our family had a wonderful time. The only thing that would make this better is if the hall bath had a shower. That way everyone doesn't have to use the small bathroom in the master. That may be in the works. Love the house and will stay there again.
Great Place to Reconnect and Have Fun
We really enjoyed the property and the lake. Kim and John were amazing to work with and all of our needs were provided. The property was very clean and cozy. We all felt right at home. We vacation with our best friends every summer and this place provided a wonderful way to reconnect with our (mostly) college-aged children and each other. The men enjoyed playing tennis almost daily; while my 16 year old and his friend enjoyed basketball and shuffleboard. We grilled out almost every evening (a charcoal and propane grill were provided). We also rented the pontoon boat from Kim and John. The boat was awesome. We enjoyed riding around in the lake each day. One feature that was so helpful was that they included a rolling gas can which made it easy to fill up the boat each day and the Jet Ski we rented at substantially less cost that going to the marina. Overall we had a wonderful vacation and would definitely book again. Thank you Kim and John for opening your home to us and sharing in your love for Madison. :)
We really enjoyed meeting you guys. Your family sounds alot like ours and it was fun getting to know you. This is exactly why we rent out our lakehouse, so other families can enjoy wonderful memories of time spent together. Hope to see you guys next year
