Located amongst the beautiful rolling hills of Southwestern North Carolina, this Country Cottage Style House sits on a private, secluded two and a half acre mountaintop with a 40-mile view. From the house, it is a beautiful two hour drive through the mountains to the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, and a beautiful two hour drive along the Ocoee River through the Ocoee Gorge to Ruby Falls and Rock City in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
The front of the house opens onto a peaceful woodland setting. The back of the house has panoramic views of mountains and valleys. The house has two floors, upper and lower. It is built on a slope, with a driveway going to each level, car parking on each level, and access in and out of the house on each level.
On the upper floor of the house are a spacious entry foyer with a powder room, the fireplace sitting area, the living and dining area, the country kitchen, the pantry with washer and dryer, and the master bedroom with full ensuite bathroom. The master bedroom has a king size bed with pillow top mattress. The living room has a queen size futon with a thick, top of the comfort level, futon mattress. All of the rooms on this level open onto screen porches or open decks. On the lower floor are the second bedroom, the large den that serves as a third bedroom, and another full bathroom. There are two twin beds in the second bedroom and two queen size futons in the den. Both of these rooms open onto a lower covered patio. The house has central heat and air conditioning, phone, Direct TV High Definition Flat Screen Satellite Television with HDDVR, DVD, and VCR in the living room, TV and VCR in one bedroom, extensive library of VHS tapes and DVD’s, fully equipped kitchen, all towels and linens included, washer and dryer, and wrap-around decks (half of which are screened). It is beautifully decorated, and has cherry floors, large windows, a real brick fireplace, and a unique country kitchen. It sleeps six plus one.
There is a visitor information book at the lodge with information about nearby activities, which include golf (there are many courses in the area, including a PGA rated course twenty minutes from The Lodge), whitewater rafting, boating, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, antiquing, and picnicking. Hayesville is a farming community with a Saturday morning market on the town square.
