New House Across from Lake with Views!!!

Bedrooms 4
Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 - 4 nights

About the property

House, 4 Bedrooms + Loft, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 12)

With its majestic mountains, miles of lakes and rivers, abundant wildlife, quaint shops, delicious dining, entertaining nightlife and a multitude of activities and events, Grand Lake, Colorado is the ideal year round family vacation destination. The welcome mat is always out.

Grand Lake's close proximity to the front range make it the perfect destination to enjoy your weekend getaway or vacation. Located just 100 miles from Denver.

Summer is our high season when our lake and town are at its busiest – the Rocky Mountain Repertory Theatre is in full swing, fireworks explode over the lake on the 4th of July, antique wooden boats tie up to the docks, the beach area is filled with families and friends, and of course, our annual Buffalo BBQ Weekend is back with live music, parade and good old fashion fun!

You can ride an ATV from the driveway up to the miles of trails that are maintained.

Boat launch ramp is across the main road.

Fall is amazing in colors, sights and sounds. The quaking of the bright golden Aspen leaves against the crisp blue Colorado sky and the bugling of the elk truly is spectacular! Hikers, kayakers, canoers, bikers, golfers and fly-fishers enjoy the beauty of the season, and our Fall Festival before the snow begins to fly.

As the snow begins to fall, Grand Lake becomes a winter wonderland. The wildlife heads for lower elevations, the frozen lakes welcome back the ice fishers, and the skating rink and trails are groomed for skaters, snowshoers, cross-country skiers and snowmobilers.

You can ride a snowmobile right from the driveway up to the miles of trails that are maintained.

Above and beyond our expectations

  • 5 of 5

This house is gorgeous with beautiful views of Grandby. The pictures just don't do it justice. We couldn't have asked for more. The Master bedroom is separated from the other bedrooms which was very nice. The bedrooms all had plenty of space.

Very Disappointing; House has been neglected

  • 1 of 5

This could be a nice house, but has been very neglected. Window coverings/blinds were missing in the loft and kid's bedroom, queen bed creaked with every move, light bulbs were out (at least four in the basement, master shower and microwave/stove), and wet towels were folded in the linen closets. Be aware that the Internet access is a Comcast hotspot that was not reliable. Also, we were expected to haul our own trash away!

Owner's Response: I appreciate your feedback. A couple of comments: we will address the following items on our next break which is scheduled for mid-August. Squeaky bed and blinds. Light bulbs have all been replaced as of 07/28/2017. Regarding the trash, we previously allowed guests to leave trash on the deck to be hauled away. Unfortunately a bear destroyed our deck last year while rummaging through trash so we had to come up with an alternate solution.

House Needs TLC

  • 3 of 5

This year was the second time we stayed at New House Across from the Lake with a view. We loved the house last year and found it was a great accommodation for us and a few friends. This year, the house had not been cleaned on arrival. The owner was out of the country, however, he was quick to respond to an email notifying him that our first guest arrived to a dirty house. He gave us the contact info of the cleaner who came right over and did a quick change of sheets and freshened the bathrooms and kitchen. Our cleaning fee was waived. Still, we found the house to have some wear and tear from the previous year. The beds were soft and creaky. Several dresser drawers were broken in one of the bedrooms. There weren't enough towels for all of our guests. Only one of the TV's could get cable at a time. We couldn't find a wine opener in the kitchen. What brought us back to this house was that it was clean and spacious, the kids liked the downstairs area with the TV and big bean bag chair. It was nice to have the washer dryer. This year, there was a new refrigerator which was very nice, but the rest of the house seemed neglected.

Owner's Response: We apologize the home was not ready upon your arrival. The individual who takes care of the house has done so for years and this is the first time this has happened. She accepted responsibility for her mistake and did everything she could to rectify the situation. Regarding the home, the basement TV works just fine but the previous guests had disconnected the cable when using a DVD player or gaming unit. The broken dresser drawer has been fixed. The creaky bed has been tightened. The wine opener is in the kitchen drawer next to the dishwasher and there are enough towels for a group of 12 which is our maximum occupancy. We appreciate your feedback and do our very best to respond to any negative comments.
