About Trish Frintzilas-Frey
I was born and raised on this homestead which has been in my family since 1945. In 2007 I decided to raise the old home and replace it with a log cabin so that it could be enjoyed by my family. It took almost 2 years to complete this project but there is nowhere that has this beauty that can be enjoyed.
Trish Frintzilas-Frey purchased this House in 2007
Why Trish Frintzilas-Frey chose Great Barrington
The property has been a family homestead since 1945. I just love the location, easy access to everything, and sitting in the loft or on the porch and be surrounded by the beautiful view.

Clean, comfortable and amazing mountain views!

Really Nice Home in a Great Location
This was a last minute rental. The owners were great to deal with! Home was roomy and well appointed. We walked 4 minutes and were in the heart of Great Barrington. Couldn't have asked for a better rental.
Great cabin - Private Feel, Yet Close to Town
This log cabin had the best of both worlds -- nice woodsy private vibe, while still being only a 5 minute walk into town. It's a tricky drive up to the house on an un-paved and pothole-filled road so if you don't have an SUV, beware! The house was spacious with nice beds, plenty of towels, etc. There were even plush robes - a first time I've seen that in a house rental.
The kitchen was well-equipped as well and there were tons of spices and things you'd need to cook. We had brought our own coffee but there was a ton for renters in the freezer.
We enjoyed the deck and yard as well.
The only downside we could think of was the fact that occasionally a freight train goes by (the tracks are right next to the house. On our first night (a Thursday) it went by at midnight, waking us all up. But then we didn't hear it over the holiday weekend, so it might be a weekday/weeknight thing.
We had a wonderful stay! Nice location and very clean! The only problem was the massive hole in the road leading to the cabin,
Clean beautiful and centrally located
This home was exactly what we were looking for. It was immaculately clean with new appliances and fun decor. The air conditioning worked great on one of the hottest days this summer and all the beds were very comfortable. I highly recommend staying here it made our visit perfect!
Thank you for a great review.
Beautiful spotless log house in a great location
We stayed at Mario's Cabin last week and totally enjoyed our stay. The house is spotless and completely furnished with anything we would possibly need. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen is so functional for any meal. We sat out on the porch and enjoyed looking at the beautiful views of the mountains. It is a short walk to either the lake or downtown and a short drive to everything we wanted to do, including Jacob's Pillow, Lenox, Stockbridge and Pittsfield. Checkin was easy and Trish's instructions were so helpful.
One suggestion I would make would be to get a thermostat that can be controlled remotely, as it would have been nice to have the house at a comfortable temperature when we arrived. It was over 90 degrees and took at least 12 hours to come down to 75.
If you have a low car (we have a Prius) you might have some trouble getting up the road, but with most SUVs or typical size cars, it should be no problem.
All in all, I would love to stay at Mario's Cabin again the next time we visit the Berkshires. Thank you so much for your hospitality.
The Norman Rockwell Museum; great shopping in Lenox and Lee; Tanglewood; Berkshire Theater; William Shakespeare Theater, Jacobs Pillow, premium outlets in Lee.
