About Property Manager/Owner
My name is Charlotte Cawthon. I am the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy H. Weaver, Sr. who purchased the home in the 1930's. It has been in our family ever since. It was a dream come true for my husband and me to restore the home and make it available to visitors.
Why Property Manager/Owner chose Brewton
The Weaver House was built in the 1930’s . It was purchased circa 1952 by Mr. and Mrs. Roy Holland Weaver, Sr. They were lovingly known as Hollie and Bessie Mae by their friends and family They had 3 children (Roy, June and Lawrence) at the time the home was purchased. Hollie Weaver had his own electrical business in a building behind the house. With Hollie’s untimely death in 1962, Bessie Mae needed a way to make a living. She opened a preschool/kindergarten in what had been Hollie’s electrical shop. Many local children were introduced to their first educational experience on this property. Bessie Mae loved the children she taught and poured her life into each one. Bessie Mae passed away in 2006 at the age of 90. Her granddaughter Charlotte transformed the home into The Weaver House. It is a well loved home with many happy memories. We hope that you will make your own happy memories at The Weaver House!
