This is a two bedroom two bath home on the shore of Seneca Lake. The original structure is stone, believed to have been constructed by CCC workers between the years of 1935 -1943. From the moment we saw it, we envisioned a quaint English Cottage. The bedroom addition had recently been replaced with all new construction. The original stone structure has a fully equipped kitchen, dining, and living room with an original stone fireplace. There are beautiful views, and no steps are required! We do have shared lakeshore access and there are over 100 steps to the shore.

Good central location for exploring, clean and quiet accommodations.
We enjoyed our stay in Rose Cottage with its secluded location and great views of the lake. The accommodations were very comfortable and adequate for four people. We enjoyed relaxing on the lawn furniture while listening to the wind in the trees and the waves lapping the shore. We explored north and south from Rose Cottage and found many wineries, museums and interesting sites within easy driving distance. The owners lived nearby and were attentive and friendly. We would have preferred to have wifi but managed without it.
Property was very nice, not quite what was expected because of the number of steps to the lake.
The location was perfect, quiet and close to the wine trail. The only issue was the fact that there really was no air condition in the bedrooms. We were fortunate that it was not hot and humid during our stay. Other than that the accommodations were nice and perfect for 4 people.
Very quaint and picturesque. The lake views were beautiful!
The cottage is charming and inviting. We did have several issues during our stay. We had some trouble with the water pressure, understandable as the water comes from the lake.
Also had some electrical issues, but John came quickly and fixed the problem.
I would recommend that the personal clothing left in closets and drawers by the owners be removed so your guests have room for their belongings.
The lake views are gorgeous but better enjoy during the day as there is no lighting to get to the shore and boat docks at night and with over 100 steep stairs from the cottage you will not be able to access.
Overall, our stay was enjoyable. The location did deliver relaxing peace and quiet, but I do think some of the amenities need to be addressed.
We enjoyed our stay at the Rose Cottage very much.
The cottage is very quaint. If you are looking for peace and quiet, this is the place to stay. The owner was there to greet us and show us around. It is great for 2 couples. It was nice to sit around the gas fireplace at night, very relaxing. The kitchen is well supplied with cooking utensils. We would definitely stay in the cottage again.
We are so happy you enjoyed!
Quaint cottage tucked in the trees
A quiet place to get away from it all! Beautiful lake views, cool fire table and an aerobic trek to and from the water’s edge! Totally doable by fit (and not so fit) folks in their 60s. I would definitely come again! Thank you—
What a great place to stay.
