About Susana Henriques
I'm Portuguese my husband is American (Cuban family) we live in Miami most of the time. We love Lisbon, we go there at least 3 times a year, we needed to buy an apt there, so for a year we rented apts all over the city to see where we liked the most, and now after more then a year we finally we got this one, we love it, is so cosy, it is in the center of Lisbon but not in the middle of all the traffic and noise 3/5 Euros cab ride or Uber to all the major attractions, but there is public transportation, you can also walk, the only problem in Lisbon is the hills, up and down. The neighborhood is still very typical, old Lisbon, and we have everything around, there is a few convenience stores around that sells a bit of everything (wine, coffee, fruits..etc) open until 11 pm. We have a lady that takes care of the apt. cleans, etc, she lives on the same street, she helps a lot us and our guests. Is like being in a Hotel with a big space and with your own Kitchen....

Why Susana Henriques chose Lisbon Old Town
Very convenient location. Close to everything but very quiet. Amazing views. 2 Balconies, difficult to beat.
What makes this Apartment unique
The views. Location. Architecture. Is the nicest felling to have coffee in the morning one one balcony and have wine in the afternoon on the other.

Lisbon was the last stop on a three city tour for my wife and I. We were thrilled with the hospitality that we received. We met the property manager, and we were quickly checked-in, and on to dinner. The apartment was clean and ready to go for us. We didn't use much of the amenities, but it was very well stocked with the items that one would need on a daily basis. The wifi was fast, and after many days of traveling, was a welcome upgrade over what we were used to.
The picture of the view from the rear patio does not do the view justice: you can see the river quite well.
Most things are fairly close to the apartment, and Uber rides, are fairly inexpensive to the heavy nightlife districts (our uber to Time-Out Market near Cais do Sodré was about 4 euros, and took about 10 minutes on a Thursday evening, and most of the places were pretty similar, a trip from the Monastery of Jerónimos in Belem to the apartment, was about 13 euros, and about an 18 minute ride).
Check out was simple enough, and we confirmed the process with the property manager to make sure we had everything correct.
We would definitely recommend the apartment to our friends should they ever go to Lisbon.
The property is very clean and comfortable with everything we needed for a short stay. The property manager wasn’t available so our orientation to the neighbourhood was lacking. The owner, who lives in the US, was very helpful via email. There is a fabulous restaurant just around the corner as well as a bakery and small store. Public transport was readily available which made touring around easy. A very pleasant stay.
Luxury in Lisbon
Before we even arrived we felt at home such were the comprehensive notes Susana provided
The offer to use Joao for airport pick up and first entry was so helpful and the nearby cafe's & "corner stores" were most useful
As a couple we had space and a real plus is that the kitchen is separate from dining/lounge area
We thoroughly enjoyed Lisbon and staying at Susana's made it special

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review and a very nice one...
You were a very pleasant guests, always welcome.
Thank you for choosing our apt.
All the best,
This is a beautiful apartment with wonderful amenities. The only thing that took away from its beauty was that the glassware was all plastic instead of glass. It is a small detail, but drinking wonderful Portuguese wine from an aging plastic wine goblet changes the mood. Otherwise, we wholeheartedly recommend this property and found all of the suggestions for what to do in Lisbon very helpful!
Thank you for your review.
There were glassware on one of the cabinets, maybe you did not see it.
We just leave the acrylic ones more handy because people take them to the balcony and sometimes they brake. You were the only person that metion that you did not like them, I bring them from USA and is what they use on the 5 stars hotels they really look like glass. Is a small detail and you have all the right of your opinion, I appreciate it.
The most important is that you had fun and enjoy your vacation. Thank you for staying at your apt.
The property was beautiful. A great location with great views of the Tagus at night on the balcony. We walked and explored the city-enjoyed the food and drink while living like locals. We would highly recommend! Thank you to Carla and Susanna for providing such a wonderful place to stay while in Lisbon!
Thank you so much for making the time to make an wonderful review and the must important knowing that you had a wonderful time.
Lovely break in Lisbon
Great apartment. Susana was very helpful with queries and very responsive. Apartment is in a nice quiet authentic neighborhood. Apartment was very clean and well equipped. Nice balcony for sitting out and relaxing in morning or evening before / after excursions. Approximately 15 minute walk down to Alfama area and river front and you can then walk along river to get to central area. Walk back uphill is steep as Lisbon built on several hills but we did it several times each day and great way of walking off large lunch / dinner. Other option is the local bus or taxi to get up the hill. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Lisbon and Susana’s apartment.
I'm so glad you enjoy it.
Yes, is a great neighboor close to everything and not touristic you feel like you are living in Lisbon with the local people.
You are right we walk so much in Lisbon and all up and down...great for the legs....:).
You are always welcome.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write us a review always helps the future guests to feel at ease.
On the same street of the apt there is the "Water museum", a bit down to the left there is the "Tile Museum" where you can find beautiful tiles that the Portuguese are famous for the blue and and white tiles hand painted. To the right (this on the end of the street, you have the "Museum do Fado" the Typical Portuguese music. There is a lot of museums and great restaurantes. Near the train station on the river you have great restaurants as well is going up the hill to a area called "Graca", around the apt you have a lot as well more Mama and Papa restaurantes that i my opinion are fantastic there is a lot of Gracery stores as well.
