This Chesapeake Bay cabin is located high atop a cliff overlooking the beautiful Chesapeake Bay. Enjoy amazing sunrises from inside the house, where there is an entire wall of Anderson windows overlooking the bay, or sit outside in one of our comfortable Adirondack chairs. Enjoy long walks hunting fossils on the sand beach, known to be one of the best locations in the world for searching for Miocene era fossils, including shark's teeth. Take a swim in the quiet community pool or play some tennis on one of 2 tennis courts available. Watch the resident Bald Eagles fly by and feed on the fish of the bay.

There is one upstairs bedroom with a queen bed and a small closet. There is an additional downstairs bedroom with a queen bed, and a bathroom attached (no closet). An additional room has 2 twin beds (no closet). Maximum of 6 people. Canoe, kayaks and beach chairs available for use. New galley style kitchen with granite countertops and a pass through to the dining area. Brand new custom tiled bathroom with gorgeous glass walled shower on upper level.

Immediately adjacent to the community is a land trust with lots of trails. There are breathtaking views everywhere and lots of birds and wildlife. The cabin also sits just at the border of a nature preserve, Parker's Creek where as of 2015 there were confirmed Bald Eagles nesting. The preserve is open only by appointment but you can use our boats to explore the area by water.

*Please note- we do not allow hosting of parties or additional guests. The maximum number of guests is 6- There is a maximum of 2 cars permitted and additional vehicles will be towed. This a very tight knit community and we are serious about respecting everyone's wishes for peace and privacy.

About Clare Seibert

I was lucky enough to grow up in this beautiful community and had many adventures exploring the Chesapeake Bay and the surrounding forests in the neighborhood. It was a dream come true when we were able to buy a vacation home in the neighborhood... We hope that we can share the magic of it with other travelers and nature lovers looking for a peaceful, comfortable place to visit!

Clare Seibert purchased this cabin in 2015

Why Clare Seibert chose Southern

The view says it all....

What makes this cabin unique

It is truly unique to be waterfront, but also surrounded by a lush, heavily forested area (forever protected by a land trust!) Eagles are commonplace and wildlife is everywhere in this environmentally conscientious community. Our cabin is just 3 homes away from the border of a local nature preserve which you can use our canoe to explore.

Lovely get-away

We really enjoyed ourselves at the beautiful bay front cabin. The cabin was well-equipped and it was clear what we needed to bring ourselves. We would definitely stay here again.

Awesome views and cozy cabin - loved it.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed 3 nights in this cozy cabin to visit with family. Claire was so easy to work with and the cabin was just perfect!! Very clean with comfortable beds and great views from everywhere!! Loved South Beach looking for shells and shark's teeth with the grand kiddos - they loved every minute. Great trip - we will definitely be back!

A Wonder

  • 5 of 5

This bay front house atop Scientists Cliffs is a wonder. The porch and font lawn open on a vast expanse of water, with sun and moon rises to take in. The house itself is simple, carefully furnished, and shows the good taste of its owners. Visitors can choose to explore or stay apart from the larger community this home is part of. We explored it, and met friendly, interesting people. Visitors also should be people who appreciate nature, including the huge nature preserve that adjoins the settlement.

Lovely Cabin with Maginificent View

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay on the Cheaspeake Bay in the community Scientists Cliffs. The cottage was very clean and the space was great for 5-6 adults. The view is just unbeatable and the sunrises breathtaking. The owner was terrific and always responded to questions quickly! I would highly recommend this property.

Beautiful view!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at the cabin! Very comfortable for our party of 5. The view can't be beat! We took day trips to DC, and at other times enjoyed walking, beach combing, and splashing in the bay. Our girls were excited to find two shark teeth! Highly recommended. Thank you Clare and to your family for sharing your beautiful vacation home with us!

Everything to love about this place.

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent several days here on a perfect weather weekend in September. Clare recommended the Calvert Marine Museum and that is where we started. Great recommendation, there is a little bit of interest for everyone and gave us a great overview of the region. We used the kayaks to enjoy a lovely paddle to Parker's Creek where we were accompanied by a large school of fish on our return . We were able to find many fossils on our daily beach walks along the cliffs. I awoke every morning just before dawn to watch the many eagles go out to feed and to be able to enjoy the sunrises. The stunning sunrises and quiet reflection may have been my favorite part of staying here. The house was very comfortable, we had everything that we needed. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking, however, with so many wonderful restaurants to enjoy, the kitchen did not get much use from us. Clare provided us with very clear check in and check out instructions. Thank you for your hospitality and for sharing this wonderful piece of heaven on earth, we would love to return!
