Kestrel House is an obsessively designed, brand-new house. Construction was completed in early spring of 2016 and the house was named after the American Kestrel, which is a small falcon. We incorporated all the bird's plumage colors in our exterior color scheme and focused on building a house that was small, efficient, and beautiful. The lofted living/dining/kitchen make you feel like your are soaring above the neighborhood providing both privacy and solitude. The house has expansive views, a huge built in bench seat with reading nook, a large covered deck with a BBQ and outdoor seating, exceptional high-end beds (Tempurpedic and Tuft & Needle), local art on the walls, and every amenity you can think of including a Bluetooth speaker system so you can vibe to your own tunes. The flooring is an Eco-concrete tile which has the raw beauty of concrete but with more give than traditional cement. There is a high efficiency furnace as well as air-conditioning for the warmer months. 9 ft. ceilings in the bedrooms and bathrooms and 13 ft. ceilings in the upstairs kitchen/dining/living. Every corner of the house has a surprise; from custom metalwork, cleverly placed view windows, lots of natural wood, etc. The kitchen is fully stocked so you can make your morning coffee, blend a smoothie, or even roast a turkey. The bathroom features a spacious walk in shower with a rain-style showerhead.
Come put your feet up, bask in the views, and make yourself at home in this modern gem that is Kestrel House.
Guests have access to the entire house, the balcony deck, and private parking off the alley.
Interaction with Guests
I want my guests to feel extremely comfortable so will be available as much or as little as needed. I live just a few minutes away.
This is a brand- new, architecturally-focused house in the Slant Streets neighborhood; a walkable and quiet neighborhood close to downtown, the University, a local grocery store with an excellent local beer selection, and an Italian coffee shop with excellent espresso drinks and an exceptional dinner and wine menu. The airport is a short 10 minute drive and you can be on the ski hill, the river, or hiking in the blink of an eye.
Plenty of parking at the house and you can walk almost anywhere in town.
Other Things to Note
Bedroom 1 has a King-sized Tempurpedic mattress. Bedroom 2 has a Tuft and Needle queen mattress.
