Eagle Nest is located in the town of Lucerne overlooking Clear Lake in Lake County. At the heart of Northern California’s rural, agricultural Lake County, Clear Lake has long attracted nature lovers, boating and watersports enthusiasts, campers, hikers, and birdwatchers. Beaches, parks, resorts, boat docks, grazing land, vineyards, gardens, and private homes line the lake’s peaceful shores.
Clear Lake is the largest natural freshwater lake in California and one of the most ancient lakes on the North American continent with lakes existing at the site of Clear Lake for approximately 2.5 million years. Pomo Indians, the region’s earliest inhabitants, called the lake “Lypoyomi,” which means “big water.” In the 1800s, the name was changed to reflect the region’s sweet fresh air and the lake’s influence on the Mediterranean-type climate. Lake County continues to boast the state’s cleanest air.
Eagle Nest is situated high on the hillside overlooking Clear Lake, it has breathtaking, panoramic lake and mountain views from the living room, master suite, and wrap around deck that faces the lake with seclusion and privacy, while just minutes away from town, wineries, dinning and casinos.
If you want to get away from the busy city life, you can enjoy a glass of wine, reading your favorite novel, gazing at soaring hawk gliding by the deck, beautiful humming birds and deer on the hillside, and romantic dinner at Sunset.
Too much stress at work and want some serious fun and actions? How about an adventure on an ATV or water sports? There are many trails available and public boat lunching close by. After a day of fun, enjoy dinner at one of the local restaurants and then a night of entertainment at Robinson Rancheria or Running Creek casinos.
Want to arrange an outing with friends and family? How about wine tasting around the lake at beautiful lake front Ceago Vinegarden, or deep in the mountain at Brassfield? Enjoy the afternoon with a BBQ on the deck and great company of family and friends.
For those of you that may be attending one of the many weddings at Precious Forest in Lucerne, Eagle Nest will be both relaxing and convenient for your stay.

Lovely view, great accommodations!
Had a lovely weekend with family, great views of Clear Lake from inside the house and the deck. Very clean, comfortable and private house. Thanks, Joe!
Lucerne Eagles Nest
We really our stay the past 4 days. My grandson “adored it”. Quiet, very comfortable and the kitchen made getting our meals together quite enjoyable. Would come back again
A perfect getaway
Five of us spent a three-day weekend at The Eagle Nest. We were impressed both by the location and the accommodations, which were as described. It felt as though we had received a personal invitation from Joe to stay at his home. Having breakfast on the deck was especially enjoyable. Joe was very prompt in responding to our pre-stay inquiries and in refunding the security deposit.
We all definitely intend to return in 2018, possibly as early as the spring. Highly recommended. Kudos to Joe for making his vacation home available.
The stay at the cabin was amazing. It has a beautiful view and has everything you need. Joe, the owner of the property, was also very responsive and helpful throughout the stay which we really appreciate. I definitely would love to come back to stay here.
Stunning view! Eagle Nest indeed
I recommend this place to all my friends. It has a big living room and patio with a stunning view.
First off Joe is awesome! Super accommodating and responds very quickly to any inquiry or request you might have.
Rented the place for a low-key weekend with some friends. The house is nice but a little outdated, the kitchen appliances work just fine, the oven was a little slow but not bad. If you need electronics and wifi for your trip then Eagle Nest might be a little trouble, the tv is a little small and old, but more importantly, there's no wifi. (This can also be a plus if you just want to unplug!) Those who have Sprint beware, you get terrible signal, if you have Verizon, AT&T or T-Mobile, you should be okay.
One thing I do want to note is, the couch was pretty dirty; there were stains all over the couch. We had put sheets and extra blankets over it so that we could sit on it.
The drive up was a hassle, and the entrance to the driveway can easily be missed, thankfully GPS did not steer us wrong. Also to note, make sure you buy everything you need before hand, grocery stores and convenience stores are at least a 20-30 minute drive, 8 minutes is just getting down the hill.
However, you can't beat the view; it was pretty awesome to look out and see the lake and gorgeous sunsets. Plus the patio is really big and spacious. We didn't spend too much time in the house, mainly at night when we were hanging out. Overall, it's a nice place but outdated. If you want to unplug and enjoy the scenery, Eagle Nest is the place for you!
