Charming Florida bungalow on beautiful tropical property
About Caroline Ziv
I'm a Chicago native who loves travel, decorating, nature, and the arts. I've been to 40+ countries - and try to add at least one new one to the list every year. I've lived in cities most of my life (NYC, London & Chicago) and this is my first house (vs apartment) - and I love it. Even sweeping the porch & pulling weeds makes me happy -- maybe because I've never had to do it before! When I'm not in Chicago or traveling, Bradenton is my second home - and I'm excited to share it with people who will love it as much as I do!
Caroline Ziv purchased this Bungalow in 2016
Why Caroline Ziv chose Bradenton
I spent months looking for the perfect property that had the charms of an older house (great moldings, wood floors, front porch) in a great neighborhood - and finally found it in this Bradenton bungalow. I saw this house and bought it the same day! With so many cookie cutter houses out there, I knew I had to grab this gem as soon as I walked in the front door. I turned what had been the garage into an amazing light, bright and airy screen room that makes me smile every time I sit in it. If you visit, you'll see why! After years of city living, I wanted a backyard sanctuary filled with tropical foliage. So I completely redid the back yard to turn it into my tropical paradise and it attracts lots of butterflies and birds. There are 3 feeders & a bird bath so the birds can hang out and have fun, too. The screen room & back yard is the PERFECT place to kick back and relax with a book, chill & listen to music, or catch up with family or friends. I am so happy with how it turned out & can't wait to share it!
What makes this Bungalow unique
We are 5 minutes from downtown Bradenton and all it has to offer. Nature preserves are all around us so you can go for a walk, bike ride, run, paddle board, kayak, or just stroll and take in the sights and sounds of nature. We are 15-20 minutes from Anna Maria Island. One advantage to not being on the island is not having to deal with the terrible traffic & crowds, especially in season. You can drive or bike (or even take the bus) to the island in the morning, spend the day at the beach & then come home to your private oasis here. No loud parties or bars. Just privacy & comfort. Sarasota with all its attractions (it's a great small city with too many attractions to mention) is only 25 minutes away. There's also Siesta Key, voted the best beach in the world several times, just west of Sarasota (& south of Anna Maria Island) & popular Longboat Key. And there is plenty to explore up north - downtown St. Pete, which has a great art community and lots of trendy restaurants, great beaches, and Tampa.

Quintessential Florida Charm!
This home is simply wonderful! Beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, spacious and well located. The owner has thoughtfully provided everything you would need for your stay. You can walk to downtown Bradenton and enjoy the restaurants and pubs along Main St. Or stroll the Riverwalk and take in the water views and gorgeous boats at the marina. The beaches of Anna Maria Island are a short drive away and are spectacular. This is our second stay in this adorable home and it won't be our last!
Lovely stay, lovely host
Caroline was very responsive, helpful, and knowledgeable about the area. We'd had a bad experience with another rental and she saved the day! Thanks so much for hosting us!
Charming and Daring Bungalow
Enjoyed our vacation here. If ever in area would like to stay here again. Appliances were great.
The house was quite clean. Layout reminds me of new England charm. Front porch my favorite spot. Although you can hear traffic I could hear birds more. Backyard is tropical. We had a lovely vacation. Our first time . And first vacation traveling with our dog and she seemed to enjoy herself as well.
This is a wonderful home in a very convenient location--relatively near down town Bradenton but on a quiet side street. One can go anywhere from here.
This older bungalow was totally renovated a few years ago by one owner and thoughtfully decorated with a cleverly repositioned garage which has been converted to an outdoor "screen room," which we found to be a major factor in our decision to book this property. We were not disappointed. The house is well-equipped with top-of-the-line appliances and nicely furnished with some special pieces by the current owner. There is only a single bathroom, but it is attractive and efficient. Because there is no "master bath" per se, it really makes no difference which bedroom is used as the "master." We have suggested to the owner that the full bed in the front bedroom be replaced with a queen-sized bed. This room is actually the larger of the two bedrooms, and some guests might choose to use it as the master, if it also were equipped with a queen bed. Photos of the property are totally accurate, although the very attractive outdoor plantings have matured significantly since the original photos were taken. Overall, a real winner, as far as we were concerned. And a very responsive and helpful owner to boot!
This is a lovely house in a quiet neighborhood. Caroline has carefully furnished it to offer everything one needs in a rental. We loved having coffee on the front porch in the morning and relaxing in the screen house at the end of a busy day. The location is ideal for visiting Bradenton and the surrounding area. We look forward to staying here again.
Lovely well-appointed home
Tastefully decorated cottage with large living and dining rooms, well-equipped modern kitchen and a beautiful garden. Quiet neighborhood. Outdoor screen room was the perfect spot for evening cocktails and snacks. Owner made us feel welcome without being intrusive. You won’t be disappointed with this lovely home.
