Here's a video tour of the home: https://youtu.be/bRH59z0-_po

There's always a reason to party in New Orleans; be it Mardi Gras, St. Patrick's Day, Christmas, or just because it's Tuesday. Luckily for you (and for us!), our summer home is only a quick 30 minute drive to the Big Easy!

The house:

-Our home is located between Lake Pontchartrain and Lake Borgne on the Chef Menteur waterway.

-This is salt water with dolphins swimming right by the dock!

-It is a 2-story raised home with 3,600 square feet of living area and a great view of the water.

-We have wood floors, stainless steel appliances, washer and dryer and so much space. The floor plan on the first level is open to the kitchen, dining, and living area.

-There are 5 bedrooms and 5 1/2 bathrooms!

*There are 3 bedrooms on the first level and each has its own full-size bathroom.

*On the second level, there are two bedrooms (one with 2 full beds, one with 1 queen bed) with a shared bathroom. We also have 1 queen bed and 1 full bed on the loft.

*All bedrooms have cable TV.

-There is a dining table that seats up to 10 people.

-We have a large kitchen island with 3 stools: perfect for breakfast or extra seating during meals.

- Our card/game table has 8 seats and has a covering if you need more space for dining.

- The home has a foosball table, card and board games.

-The entire back wall of the living room is windowed, so you can see the dock and water while watching TV (cable in living room, too).

-The back porch is 440 square feet and has 2 swings as well as multiple chairs.

*It's my favorite spot to watch fish jump, hear the ducks quack, and catch a beautiful sunset. You can also watch the shrimp and crab boats pass, and watch your friends & family on the dock.

-The lower level (covered garage area) is the perfect area to boil your seafood or use the stainless steel propane grill. YOU WILL NEED TO PROVIDE YOUR OWN PROPANE TANK. We provide the propane burner, boiling pot and cooking utensils for boiling or frying your seafood! There are plenty of lights in this 2,000 square feet-covered area! There is a half bath located in this garage area.

-We take a lot of pride in making our home your home! We provide the linens, bath towels, shampoo and conditioner, toilet paper, paper towels, and so much more!

-We decorate for all major holidays, but we can also decorate for your special event! Be it a surprise wedding engagement, birthday, family reunion, etc.! Just let me know when booking!

Our own private dock:

-There's room for sun bathing, fishing, crabbing, and a swing if you want to just watch the water (or sit and fish).

-The fishing is great, especially from August to November. **You will need to bring your own fishing gear, or you can hire a fishing guide/charter who has his own gear.

-You will catch red fish, trout, flounder, drums, catfish, and many other kinds of fish!

-There are 4 sinks with running water located on the dock to clean your hands or clean your catch!

-Crab traps provided!

-There are plenty of lights on the dock. You can fish all night!

*The lights shine right on the water to attract bait fish, so night fishing is really great!

-There are two boat slips, so bring your boat and jet skis!

- The dock also has a jumping platform that the kids and adults really enjoy!

-We recommend and provide life jackets for all swimming activities. Please check with us to see if we have the size and number of jackets you may need.

-If you want to bring your boat and/or jet skis, there are two boat launches within a mile.

-We have two slips for your private use.

About Diana Ullo

Hello!

My name is Diana Ullo and I am the manager of renting out this beautiful home! I was born and raised in the suburbs outside of New Orleans. I love this city so much that I attended both high school and college here!

My grandfather, Raymond, who was blessed with a large family, purchased this home so that it could accommodate our whole family. It's like a second home to me, and I know it will be a second home to you, as well!

Diana Ullo purchased this house in 2003

Why Diana Ullo chose Ninth Ward

This location was ideal to my family for many reasons. It's close to the Mississippi gulf coast if you want to go to the beach, it's close to New Orleans if you're interested in the culture and/or nightlife, the fishing is great, and the area is so quiet and peaceful.

What makes this house unique

Want a care free vacation? Well, you've come to the right place! The only things you should have to worry about are bringing your luggage, bringing a propane tank if you want to grill on our grill, and buying groceries. I provide you with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, pots, pans, spices, linens, bath towels, the list goes on!

On an unrelated note (but also an amazing benefit) previous guests have reported catching a 24 inch red fish right off of the dock! It is truly a fisherman's paradise.

Wish we would have more time

  • 5 of 5

Sorry for the delay in writing this review on this amazing property. The home was so big we all had our own rooms, many with their own bathrooms. The living room was so comfortable and the kitchen was big enough for many cooks and well stocked with appliances, spices and other items in the pantry and refrigerator. We loved the convenience of the washer and dryer and elevator was such a help.

We saw beautiful sunrises every morning. We even saw dolphins swimming. We just didn't have enough time to enjoy the house we were always on the go.

Diana was amazing. Any time we had questions she got right back to us with in minutes.

The only draw back was driving to and from New Orleans. But relaxing on the back porch looking at the water made up for the drive.

We hated to leave. We would love to come back again.

Great house wonderful host

  • 5 of 5

Great house for gathering with family. Plenty of room and fabulous view. We spent a week there for my nephews wedding and enjoyed the location. It is a 35-40 minute drive to the French Quarter. The dock was great for fishing and it had a lift to keep our boat. Bait shop is just around the corner. If you don't have a boat you can fish from the dock or give Captain Bob with Full Deck fishing a call. We caught 100 trout in one morning with him! Diana was very accommodating and pleasant to chat with. If you are looking for a house in the New Orleans area look no further!

Wonderful time with family!

  • 4 of 5

My family and I really enjoyed our stay. Because of the windy conditions, we didn't catch many fish. If we had any questions or problems, Diana was always available to help. We will be coming back for our future siblings weekend. Thank you Ullo family!

Owner's Response: I’m glad you enjoyed your stay! The cold front that just came through caused the wind on the lake. :( It’s actually quite peaceful without the wind.

It was very spacious and comfortable.

  • 5 of 5

Truly a beautiful place and enjoyed by all. We liked that it was such a short walk from the house to the boat dock where we could relax, socialize with family that stayed close to the house and yet fish at the same time. We definitely will consider coming back.

Awesome lake house.

  • 5 of 5

The house was awesome. The location was great, very easy to get to from New Orleans, Metairie, the West Bank or Slidell. Launching our boats and fishing were made easy with a boat launch and bait shop just blocks away. Fishing was a little slow but the protected waters made for nice boat rides. If you plan on staying at the Majestic Lake House and have a boat I recommend bringing it; there is a covered boat slip with hoist and two additional uncovered slips. The three down stairs rooms are quite large with a bathroom in each and an additional full bathroom off of the living room. The upstairs rooms were spacious and comfortable with additional beds on the loft and a shared full bathroom. The kitchen is large enough to allowed for multiple cooks. We had nine adults in our group and never felt crowded with the open floor plan of the house. Even thought the heat index on Saturday was 103 it was still comfortable sitting on the balcony because of the fans and breeze coming off the water. There was one little problem with the water pressure in a couple of the showers but everyone managed. Diana is a joy to deal with, my questions and texts are answered quickly. The little care package of food she provided was a nice touch and in short we'll be back.

-John-
