About Isabelle Bradbury

The many pleasurable stays I experienced around the world at VRBO properties convinced me to open my own home to fellow travellers.

Isabelle Bradbury purchased this townhome in 1989

Why Isabelle Bradbury chose Hull - Val-Tétreau

The neighbourhood is a gem. Not only is it the only neighbourhood directly on the shores of the Ottawa River within the five inter-city bridges, but the people who live here are varied in their occupations, incomes and backgrounds. There are many businesses as well as houses, a university, a church, a daycare centre and an elementary school so the streets are friendly.

What makes this townhome unique

Moussette Beach and The Voyageurs bicycle pathway which are steps away.

Beautiful home - excellent for a staff retreat

  • 5 of 5

We had a very productive and laid back staff retreat. The home accommodated 10 people working with a relaxed vibe, with two of our staff staying the night. We enjoyed using the bbq and walking along the water. Close to downtown, and a great location along the bike path.

A fantastic place to stay, great location

  • 5 of 5

The property is beautifully maintained and very clean. Both bedrooms are specious and well organized, thus sleeping even up to 4 people per bedroom feels specious and still leaves ton of room to move around. The kitchen is well equipped and very big. The owner is super friendly and nice, she even brought us organic produce, and left chocolates and cheeses in the fridge and an organic bread for us to consume. The place is kid friendly, with just steps away from the beach and playground. In addition, the location is excellent. Gatineau park is just a block away and the Ottawa river trail is just at the end of the street. Also, it is literately 5 minute drive from downtown Ottawa.

We were a group of 2 families with 4 kids and we had an amazing time, we would highly recommend this place to travellers with families.

Beautiful place to stay

  • 5 of 5

This property was a very nice place to stay, the house was spotless and the cupboards were well equipped. The bedrooms both come with beautiful bathrooms and the beds were extremely comfortable. Were we a group of two families and would highly recommend this property. Also, the bike and walking trails made getting to Ottawa easy.

Great location, excellent hostess

  • 4 of 5

After the hustle and bustle of downtown Ottawa, a great location to relax. Isabelle was very welcoming and we loved her little starter package. Gatineau park is literally a 5 minute walk away, while the river is even closer. Apartment was spotless, comfortable , and very roomy. Perfect for two couples. We stayed for 7 nights and only ate out the first night. All the rest of the time we BBQ"d on the back deck overlooking the river. I have already, and will recommend it to anyone visiting Ottawa/Gatineau.

Perfect location, clean, well-equipped!

  • 5 of 5

Four adults from the US, we stayed for a week to bike the trails around Ottawa. Arriving late after 2 days of driving, we were happy to see we had a place to secure our bikes, a driveway for our car, and a refrigerator stocked with enough items to get us through breakfast--all organic!

The place was sparkling clean, cheerfully decorated, and well-equipped. The owner Isabelle was there to greet us and readily available.

We parked our car and rode our bikes everywhere. A grocery store and several excellent restaurants are just a few steps away.

If you're vacationing or visiting on business, you'll be glad to stay here.

Owner's Response: Jeannie, you, Mike and your friends were an inspiration to me for cycling, rain or shine, everywhere. It was a pleasure hosting you and finding out all the new cycling routes you uncovered and explored. I am glad that you explored our neighbourhood as well since there are a number of small businesses here that appreciate your patronage. Keep up the cycling tours and the explorer spirit!

Owner's Response: Juke, I am delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us. Running the half marathon of the Ottawa Race weekend is a momentous undertaking and as a runner myself, I can well appreciate your need for a good night's sleep the night before! I also understand the need to celebrate and enjoy the experience of your trip; your comments are music to my ears. Please do visit us again with your bikes and explore the region in a completely different and equally enjoyable way.

The location is ideal for cycling, running, roller blade and cross-country skiing either as a leisure activity or as a healthy commute to museums, art galleries or music festivals (I have personally checked in my skis at the National Gallery one lovely winter evening).

The rental property is located along a popular bicycle path that winds along along the Ottawa River to the Deschênes Rapids, Aylmer Marina, Westboro Beach, the Canadian Museum of War, Parliament Hill, the Rideau locks and canal, the Byward Market, the National Art Gallery and The Canadian Museum of Civilization.

For a more challenging and even more rewarding ride or ski, one can venture up Gatineau Park (entrance is across the street from the neighborhood) to the McKenzie King Estate and to the Champlain Lookout for a truly spectacular view. In winter, woodstove-heated cabins in the Park are open to skiers or snow shoers for bring-your-own fondue or other meal during the day and night. The extensive network of groomed trails is one of the best-kept secrets of the National Capital Region.

The rental property is close to the shoreline, where hare, herons, hawks and deer can be seen upon occasion. Beavers are found swimming in the pond along the bike path to the west.

A wonderful grocery store is a short walk within the neighborhood with its own butcher, baker, produce section, wine and beer, post office counter, dry cleaning pick-up and all- round great service. Big name supermarkets, specialty markets, big box stores and other stores are a short drive away.

Other services in the neighbourhood include Edgar, an Urban Spoon-rated restaurant; a coffee shop an ice-cream bar and a Vietnamese restaurant; beauty salons; tailor/clothes alterations; sports equipment, a dentist, massage therapists, a gas station, automobile repair shops and a bicycle repair shop.
