The house has solid maple flooring in all the bedrooms, Anderson windows designed to maximize the morning light and spectacular mountain and valley views. Both bathrooms include custom built cedar vanities and marble / granite counters. We have recently enhanced the lighting, rebuilt the stairs and decks off the kitchen and driveway, replaced the living room furniture with a brand new couch and leather side chairs, and cleared and topped to open up the spectacular views. The house also has state of the art laundry facilities, 2 flat screen LCD televisions, and a breakfast bar with kitchen pass through and modern leather bar stools. A Weber propane grill sits just outside the kitchen on the deck.
Caretaker: The house includes a small Caretaker's apartment. Our basement apartment has a separate entrance. It is occupied by a single long term tenant who ensures that the house is always safe and secure. Our caretaker/tenant is a member of the local community and has been for years. He ensures that the walkways are shoveled during the Winter months, making first tracks easy to get to! Our guests often do not even know our caretaker is in residence, unless they see him shoveling out the front door after a big storm!

About Joshua Slen
Picture is of me and two of my brothers when we were kids. Can you guess the decade? I live and work in Stowe, Vermont with my wife and three kids. We are avid skiers, hikers, and bikers. We enjoy all the Green Mountains have to offer and are thrilled to share it with our guests.
Joshua Slen purchased this House in 2005
Why Joshua Slen chose Morristown
We love that the house has views, privacy, is minutes from town, and is on a paved road. When we lived here we enjoyed sledding and playing with our dogs in the yard and running and biking right out the door.
What makes this House unique
Multiple decks: one small private deck off the master bedroom, a kitchen deck, and a balcony off the living room. A fenced yard for dogs. A 240 volt exterior outlet for our guests driving electric vehicles.

Great ski getaway!
We had a great time at the property - perfect for a ski weekend at Stowe, or surrounding resorts. Was a central location to Stowe, up north or Burlington. House was clean and setup perfectly for our group. Close to Alchemist and other locations in Stowe - great restaurants, bars, etc. Will be renting again!
quiet location with awesome view
Great location - close to town and all skiing. The house was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The fence in the yard was a plus for the dogs. They enjoyed the property as much as we did.
The house was exactly as described. It was perfect for our ski vacation. Loved coming home from the mountain to turn on the fireplace and relax in front of the fire with the Olympics on the television. When we return to Stowe in the future, would definitely rent this house again!
Best rental home we've had yet, and will be our go-to place now
The best property we’ve rented in the 10 years we’ve been traveling to VT for our Thanksgiving retreat.
The house is in great condition and is extremely well-located for touring the upper-northern areas of the state. Off the main roads so it’s quiet, but still offers quick and easy access to groceries, restaurants and shopping in either Stowe or Morristown.
The views from the decks and windows down into the Stowe valley are tremendous. And the stars at night – be sure to look up, as the lack of light pollution provides a spectacular view there too.
We were here for Thanksgiving week. The weather was chilly, but the house is well insulated and heated. The gas fireplace really pumps out a LOT of heat if you need it … we ended up only using it for atmosphere as the regular heat was comfortable enough.
The kitchen is extremely well stocked so we were able to do a traditional full Thanksgiving meal without any issues. Kudos on the oven – the turkey was ready on time as the temperature was very well-regulated, another indication of the care this home receives from its owner.
A full set of stainless pots and pans are provided, as well as mixing bowls and baking dishes. There’s cutlery for a mob so you will not have to frantically wash them between servings, and a very full knife block (though they could use sharpening). Mugs and glasses were also in abundance.
There were a couple of the standard items that any rental kitchen lets you down on – not because they weren’t there, but because they get so abused. The requisite melted spatula and scratched non-stick frying pan showed up, but we remembered to bring our own with us so no problem.
Beds are quite comfy, with loads of extra sheets and towels for everyone on both living floors. Water pressure and temp in both bathrooms was good. And the washer and dryer are full-size state-of-the-art wonders!
Keep in mind that there are the equivalent of 2 flights of stairs to access the home entry. This may a problem if your party includes anyone who is getting up their years or otherwise would have issues climbing stairs.
We had snow on several days of our stay, and the caretaker downstairs took very good care of clearing the stairs and entry deck. You may want to make sure you have some ice-melt with you for the stairs if you are there during winter months, as they will still ice up a bit. Otherwise you’ll hardly know he exists – just be sure to leave room for his car in the parking area!
Perfect weekend getaway!
Our family - and doggo - had a great stay in Stowe! The house was perfect and was very clean with a great location. Joshua was very responsive to our messages also. Will definitely stay again!
We really enjoyed our stay. The views from the house are spectacular. The house had everything that we needed for a family break in a peaceful location with stunning views.
