Guestbook comments from the owner

Thanks for sharing your cabin with us. It was a much needed relaxing break from Florida. Your cabin is so amazingly decorated. It looks like it is off the pages of a home magazine. Great views, comfortable & clean. Can't wait to come back!

Nice cabin

  • 4 of 5

The location is great. The owner was also great, very nice and easy to work with. The cabin is very dust and clutter with a lot of items. There are a lot of personal items.

Cluttered

  • 2 of 5

Rented for 3 nights and stayed only one. The home had good reviews so I thought I would take a chance. It might work for a young couple, but it was cluttered with personal items and in need of deep cleaning. The bedroom was tiny with a small bed and the other had twin beds that lean away from the house, as the house is not level. Also, there is no front step into the house making it difficult to enter. Not for the elderly, for sure.

Lovely mountain cabin!!

  • 5 of 5

I have been coming to Highlands my whole life. We have rented this cabin for the last two years for our Labor Day weekend getaway. It's perfect for our little family of five. Plus, we get to bring our two small dogs. It's minutes from downtown Highlands but yet feels like you are staying in the middle of the mountains. The cabin is nicely decorated and you will find many items that make your stay more convenient, such as a Kuerig coffee maker. The owner is pleasant to deal with and very responsive. We will definitely book again, if it is available. It is quickly becoming part of our mountain memories.

not what I expected

  • 1 of 5

This property did not notify renters that air conditioning was not available. Heat only. All windows had to be kept open to cool off and get rid of musky smell. Lights and fans were odd as well. Everything seemed hard wired, we could not figure out where most on off switches were and that was frustrating. Screens needed to be badly cleaned, lots of cobwebs and dust on them. No automatic dishwasher either. We had to do them by hand. Although the master bed itself was comfortable, I would have to admit I would not rent this place again. We felt we overpaid for what we got. This rental should ask for 90. a night to be fair. or atleast detail the have nots! Sorry.

somewhere?

  • 3 of 5

The location of the cabin was desirable being so close to the Highlands. The beds were too small as the closets. I requested directions and an address 2x but received nothing, but the code to the lockbox. So we left early and the way we found the house without any street names was to follow a map with no street names. We counted off the exits and looked for a green roof and identified by the pic. Not a good start to our week. We had difficulty closing up. It was all for a good cause and the money going to Meals on Wheels made it all worth while.
