About Denise Briggs
We are Denise Briggs and Andrea Aldrich, sisters that have recently taken over the family farm from our parents. We are the 6th generation on Pumpkin Hill Farm, which was a Vermont dairy farm for over 100 years. The farm no longer operates as a dairy. Instead, in order to preserve the land and keep Pumpkin Hill Farm in the family, we have converted it to a vacation rental. It is our hope to share some of the unique qualities of the farm with people that want to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We grew up helping on the farm. We did everything from bringing the cows in from the pasture, to feeding calves, to gathering eggs, to gathering sap for boiling into syrup. Later in life, Andrea took over the milking operation. When that was no longer a viable option, she gave up the dairy herd and the farm was used for raising beef and chickens. Our parents are ready to retire to an easier way of life and have turned the farm over to us. We have innumerable memories on the farm and are not yet ready to relinquish it to hands outside of our family. We plan to continue working the land, boarding horses, and revitalizing the sugaring operation. So the experiences you will get as visitors to our family's home will be invaluable.

Why Denise Briggs chose Danville
This property has the best of both worlds. Come for the peace and quiet. Because of its location, you won't have to worry about traffic or nosy neighbors. The farm sits at the end of a quiet dirt road, on a hill, overlooking fields and mountains. But, it's close to several towns with many choices of activities. Go out during the day to explore. Come back at night for serenity and relaxation with no interruptions. Pumpkin Hill Dear Acres is not fancy, but it's clean and comfortable.

The house was super cozy, comfortable and charming. We felt right at home. Everything we needed was provided, ie linens, towels, housewares. The views are breathtaking and grounds welcoming. The hosts were the best. From leaving a light on for our late first night arrival to providing jumper cables and everything in between, this family made our stay amazing.
We cannot wait to stay here again.
Feeling like family
Fell in love with the property!
The Greatest VRBO place I have ever stayed.
Beautiful, peaceful, historic, I love it. My family is sorely going to miss coming here again.
This was such a cute place to stay. It was very quiet and clean.
Peace in the Mountains of Danville, VT
My family and I had one of the best experiences in over 10 yrs. Denise and Andrea were Great Hostessess. The beautiful views, quiet nights and authenticity of the house was the BEST!! The added joy of the farm (goats, alpacas, bunnies, and kittys) gave us the sense of being home with our pets. If folks are looking for quiet nights looking at the stars and beautiful days with the green mountains, this is the location for you. I will continue to request this home in all future visits to St. Johnsbury, VT. Out of a 10 star rating, I would give it a 12+. Thank You for an AWESOME exoerience.
We had a great time.
We had such a great time at this property. Very comfortable home and grounds. Enjoyed seeing the animals in the fields and having cats to love on. Place is very easy to get to off the highway. Thank you so much for such a wonderful place to stay.
The Northeast Kingdom of Vermont has a lot to offer. Museums, golf, fishing, hunting, hiking, skiing, horseback riding, and swimming. Along with many good restaurants. Not to mention the peace and quiet. The natural beauty of the area is a treat in itself.
