About Yindra Vylet
The magic of CreekHouse brought us to North Carolina. We lived at different parts of the word and spent the past decades in California but after visiting the CreekHouse we decided to leave everything behind and move to Bakersville North Carolina where we first bought another house. Few months later the CreekHouse got on the market, we couldn't resist and decided to buy it for vacation rental. The mountains surrounding Bakersville is the home of many artists, many of them have the similar stories; once they visited the area, decided to move here. We both studied art in Europe but life drifted us to other carriers, but now we have the opportunity to continue our broken path. The beauty of the natural scenery is just indescribable; everyday is a wonder. When we are not at the CreekHouse, we are hiking, creating art, remodeling our other house, visiting galleries, taking pictures of the wonderful wildlife or practicing culinary art. We enjoy making people happy by sharing the CreekHouse with our guests.
Yindra Vylet purchased this Cottage in 2005
Why Yindra Vylet chose Bakersville
The moment we saw this property we wanted to call it ours. The serenity of this property just magical. It is a labor of love to maintain the large lush landscaping with private creek bordering the property and a pond but it is worth every effort. Deer, wild turkeys and many different birds are frequent visitors here, magical to watch them from the large screened porch. Spending time at CreekHouse is a life changing experience as many of our CreekHouse guests called it. We like the fact it is in the center of many activities; ski area, waterfalls, hikes, ziplining, gem mining, horse riding, rafting, Asheville, Johnson City, Burnsville, Spruce Pine. All within 45 minutes of drive which is in Los Angeles traffic term: “very close”.
What makes this Cottage unique
Everything about this place is unique, but sitting on the front porch looking straight up at the Roan Mountain while listening to birds chatter ceaselessly against the background sounds of the rushing water makes it a place like no other. As if that were not enough, the spiritual private boulder garden located just to the left of the screened porch is a total unexpected delight. I feel closer to God when I am at the Creekhouse.

I couldn't recommend this lovely property enough. The owners are really communicative and made our stay outstanding. The property is beautiful and fairly isolated. I loved the artwork, the creek, the pond, and the multiple outdoor shelters. Don't forget to check out The Hollar for some awesome bbq!
Thank you so much! We are so happy you enjoyed your stay!
Very Welcoming Place
The Creekhouse is the place to be for any occasion whether romantic, family oriented, or both.
Jindra & John are wonderful hosts, their attention to detail for our arrival won us over from the get go. They left us a welcoming note, music, and homemade cookies.
For our daughter they left a welcoming party of toys and books as well as a personalized drawing.
For our dog, they left a water and food bowl, a treat, and even waste bags.
We arrived on a snowy night and they warned us ahead of time about the conditions and cleaned the snow from the porch for us.
They had everything you could posibly need available.
The 2 bedroom 2 bathroom house was very spacious and furnished.
The livingroom has a comfortable couch and lounge chair near a gas fire place and flat screen tv and dvd with over 100 dvds as well as netflix and amazon prime video options.
The kitchen was fully stocked with pots, pans, serving sppons, utensils, cups, wine glasses, rice cooker, etc. For our family being used to our latin foods, we can say with all honesty that we did not struggle at all to find what we needed to cook with ; they even had seasonings.
The bedrooms were spacious and had plenty of blankets including heated blankets. The master bedroom has a TV and DVD/ Cassete player and also a beautiful electric fireplace heater.
The bathrooms have bathtubs and plenty of towels. There is plenty of extra blankets and towels in the closets as well.
The screened and covered terrace has an outdoor dining table and sitting area as well as a snow sleigh, fly fishing rod, chess game, telescope, and more.
There was plenty of green area for our dog and daughter to play and run.
The outdoor gazebo is nice to sit near the creek and the acces to the creek is safe and comfortable to walk.
The creek is beautiful and the sound it makes puts anyone to sleep even from the screened terrace.
We also enjoyed the fire pit very much and there was plenty of wood and tree branches near it already chopped for us to use.
Our overall experience was great and we definitely recomend the Creekhouse to others. We will definitely return.
Thank you Jindra & John
This is the third time we've stayed at the property. We enjoy the house and the location.
Thank you Barb, it was such a pleasure hosting you again!
Perfect for R&R
Beautiful property and perfect if you’re looking for rest and relaxation. The creek in the backyard is amazing and the porch is a wonderful spot for coffee and quiet time. Appreciated all of the little touches that made this weekend getaway a special time for me and my pups.
Thank you Sue, we are delighted to hear you had a good time!
We loved this cozy home. It was very inviting and the baked cookies ,Christmas card, Christmas tree and the welcome sign. Just well done! They even thought of our dog. The beds were so comfortable, I usually bring my own pillows , but you couldn’t beat the comfort of theirs. The sound of the stream behind the house made it even that more relaxing. My husband caught a tree while fishing but hey, he caught something! :) Just a fabulous stay for us during Christmas!
Thank you Stephanie, it is so wonderful to hear you really enjoyed your Christmas vacation at the CreekHouse!
