About Sterling and Janice Penman
Sterling and Janice are Colorado natives. Sterling's family homesteaded in Green Mountain Falls in 1888 and have lived in this area ever since. There isn't anything he doesn't know about this area. Just ask him! Janice and Sterling both graduated from Manitou High School in the 1970's. We both have extensive family living in this area.
Sterling and Janice Penman purchased this House in 2016
Why Sterling and Janice Penman chose Cascade
We built this new guest house next to our family home.
What makes this House unique
Sterling is a custom home builder, as was his father, and his grandfather. He owns Penman Construction and Properties with his brother. They work extensively in Green Mountain Falls and the Colorado Springs area. They have been in business for over 50 years. Sterling built Deer Crossing personally for your enjoyment. We built our home, which is next door, in 1997. We love this piece of land and the awesome views it affords.

The best location for all that there is to do in Colorado Springs and the surrounding towns. Super quite, sets off the road. We are a very busy family and it gave us together time to just slow down and hang out with our kids. Loved it and will be going back as long as they will let us.
Haha! Funny and thank you. You are welcome back anytime. We are happy it was a good fit for your family.
Great place for families
Very clean and well maintained. Great place for a family to stay. Close enough to all the area attractions, but far enough away to feel secluded. Loved staying here. Would definitely stay again.
Everything about the home was amazing, great care and attention
Before we got there, the owner texted us to let us know it was ready and we could come on in! From walking in, it looks just like the pictures, clean, cute and as smelled good! She left us a message on the chalkboard about the fire ban, their number was right there if we needed it. There was a welcome basket of fruit and cheeses in the fridge with a cute note. There were several guest books that had all the resteraunts in them as well as places to see, loved this because we like the "mom and pop" places to eat. The place was fully stocked with everything:super soft towels, toilet paper, napkins, paper towels, make up wipes etc. The beds were very comfy with tons of pillows and blankets, my son loved the huge soft blankets! I have a 15 yr old girl who loved the books and window seats to read and my 5yr old son loved the games and sand box. We really didn't cook there except for breakfast but the kitchen had everything you needed. Loved grinding my own coffee beans and looking at the mountain before everyone woke up. The kids room is small but it works for them, they loved climbing into the top bunk. Everything was clean clean clean! Overall I was amazed by what we got for the price. No doubt this is where we will stay again when we come back!
Very nice place, very well decorated!
Great people, comfy and cozy place to stay.
We enjoyed our stay at this cabin in the mountains. It is quiet, charming and close to the sights of Colorado Springs without being in all of the hustle and bustle. Would definitely stay again.
